England v Uruguay

Second goal reminded me of the Chopra goal at Cardiff in the play off semi a little. Jagielka did exactly what Hobbs did, and came forward without attacking the ball and gets caught in no mans land. Obviously not really good enough for championship football, nowhere near good enough for the World Cup.

Jags was fu cking wham tonight like let's not beat about the bush if we take jt an Cole to this WC were through on six points already

I've been positive, optimistic, very supportive of this World Cup campaign (Not on here, but that because i've had no internet so havn't been on here much and posting of a phone is hard so have been selective where I have posted recently).

I've had the piss took out of me at work for being so positive, optimistic and overly supportive so much to the point that if I was a weaker person people would have complained about bullying.

I really thought we played well against Italy, and I came up with the quote before Gerrard (Could believe we said exactly the same thing when I saw the interview the next day) if it had been a boxing match it'd have been close and we'd have won on points, but people just to wind me up (Or try) said we were shite, they are in denial, we were far from shit.

But tonight I cannot defend them, they were awful, they were shit, and I have told them this, just like surely they should admit we were 'ok', 'good', 'played well' against Italy, even if we won tonight i'd have happily admitted we were shit.

Don't think i'm even gonna leave work early for the last match, why lose money?

TBH as much as I started this post saying I've been positive, optimistic, very supportive, I have been, I'll always jump on the bandwagon, I'll always be supportive, but deep down I knew we'd do **** all, I expected better than this and I have to question my jumping on the bandwagon and support after this crock of shit, but I know in 2 years time I'll be posting exactly the same thing.

...You know what i'm most pissed off about? An excuse for a piss up, let's be honest there's no point for the last game is there? Like I say, what's the point in losing money, I may aswell work.

Really disappointed. Sunday league style defending really isn't acceptable. Half decent going forward but still not great

Gerrard was awful tonight and against Italy

Im just waiting for some brilliant insight from Uncle Albert/Grandad or whatever his name is who clearly had ideas above his station about this England team and wouldnt listen to any voices of reason.

No doubt he 'won't remember' the absolute shite displayed by messrs Gerrard, Henderson, Sturridge, Johnson and Sterling.

Just two comments amongst others that will haunt him

Gerrard's better than Pirlo apparently lads.

Gonna do some player ratings.

Hart 5 - Nearly got caught out with two corners. This is certainly being overly critical but I thought he was perhaps too far off his line for their first.

Johnson 5 - Should never have let the cross come in for the first goal. Did well for our goal.

Baines 6 - Was better today than Saturday. Only caught out once at the back when Suarez skinned him. Should he have come across for their goal? Again maybe that's a tad harsh. Positive going forward.

Cahill 7 - Easily the best out of the back 4.

Jagielka 5 - Ball watching for the first. In no mans land for the second. Turned and looked at the Lino to see if Suarez was off.

Henderson 6 - Lively. Didn't really see him have a great impact on the game though.

Gerrard 5 - Offered little tonight. Lost the ball in the build up to the first. Gonna take all the stick for the second but what I will say is, that's a great bit of anticipation from Suarez.

Sterling 5 - Didn't do a lot.

Welbeck 6 - Takes a lot of stick but he looked positive again.

Rooney 7 - Should've scored 3 but was easily our best attacking outlet. Unlucky with a free kick that went just wide. Started and finished the move for his goal.

Sturridge 6 - Played a big part in our goal. Was well shackled by their defence who were dirty bastards.

Barkley 6 - Looked lively, and he's going to be good, very good for us. Sometimes took on too much but it was all in a positive manner from him.

Lallana 5 - No impact.

Lambert - Looked lethargic. No impact.

I guess a lot of the current wailing is coming from the moronic "Expectation is low this year... so there's less pressure and therefore we've got a great chance!" crew.

Expectation was low for a reason.

I think everybody was just kidding themselves into thinking that we were going to do well because of the low expectations, ironically raising the expectations.

If he comes on here and starts peddling his obvious liverpool bias again then I think he should be banned from the forum. To a man his boys were dogshit tonight.

I dunno, I thought Suarez was shit hot tonight to be honest.

As for England? Well, it woz Liverpool wot lost it.

Said exactly the same about Hart, doesn't seem to position himself well enough

As usual The Fa will try and pull out the positives out of this tournament and go on about the upcoming youngsters, looking to the future... For me nothing positive came out of this, doesn't matter how they dress it up it's still been a disaster. The only way forward for now is getting rid of Hodgson, he's taking us backwards and fast.

Get the next manager playing us the right way, push forward with the youngsters, drop the old deadwood, experiment and gamble a bit more, try new formations, make sure the lads leave the dressing room with a smile allow them to enjoy playing in a England shirt, pick on form players.

The second goal reminded me of Germany's first goal 4 years ago with Terry and James getting done - I'm not blaming Hart though - it was just shocking defending from a goal kick

Gerrard was also woeful in the warmup games which certainly didnt go unnoticed with me, and hes so far past his best he has to be moved on.

I'm surprised you've lived this long.

In fairness I thought Henderson did well before he went off

Genuine question, Was he playing? An honest question. (Obviously he was)

I didn't notice him once.

People question Rooney but I honestly didn't know Henderson was playing.

Hodgson: "We controlled Suarez pretty well"

Did we Roy? Did we? Because it didn't ****ing look like it. It looked like a world class but only half fit player had our pants down. Gerrards assist was bad enough but watch that second goal again. Cahill hasn't got a ****ing clue where Suarez is, he's not even looking at him. Criminal.

That's what kills me. England are their own worst enemy. I can take losing to a superior Italy side but Uruguay are gash. We lost, not because they're good or even because Suarez is world class. We lost because we can't concentrate, we lack quality and we are embarrassingly error prone.

It hasn't, we seen positives in the performances of Cahill, Sterling and Barkley, it's not been a disaster, we've had the two hardest opening matches in living memory (no Tunisia, Trinidad or Algeria this time). It's been disappointing yes, disaster no.

Yeah, we can get rid of Hodgson, good luck getting a much better English replacement.

How has he taken us backwards. Although I agree we're disappointing I think this is a much needed transitional period to bring the younger players through. The area I worry about is defence as I don't see any quality coming through
