Corky Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Annoying thing is that we were getting a real head of steam up before the second goal, there was no recovering after that.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Overreaction central. What happened to as long as we have a go I don't care if we get knocked out? We know we're not very good so I don't see why people get so irate when that once again proves to be the case. we're f**king England. we shouldnt be losing to these poverty nations
FrankieADZ Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 personally think we need to clear out/move along some of them. some are in there imo just thru the club they play for(doubt theyd be in there if they played for Fulham) its getting a usually feeling now watching England.....disappointment,
ScouseFox Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 At least we should deffo win goal of the tournament
Merging Cultures Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 There was absolutely no doubt that Godin should have been sent off after 25 minutes, it was a terrible decision which radically altered the rest of the game. Disagree. There is doubt. The speed the game is played at it's difficult to see how hands are thrown around. We have cameras and slow mo. Oh and Rooney was just a little less of a stinky turd than the rest of the dirty runny diarrhoea that played for us.
Stadt Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 You can if Gerrard doesn't back header it to Suarez though. There's blame to be spread equally amongst the team. We were very unlucky today and quite unlucky on Saturday. Rooney did fine today. 9 times out of 10 we'd have had at least a point from these games. Maybe I am being harsh on Rooney but I don't feel as though any of the players were good enough today, not atrocious but just lacked quality
Fox92 Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Negative manager Assistant manager with no experience of managing And a team full of overpaid wankers who don't look like they give a toss Saves some heartache further down the road To win a World Cup you need a minimum of 6 or 7 world class players and we don't have any at all so shouldn't come as a surprise to any of us that we are on the plane with Spain Agree with all of that. Players stand up on the big stage, big players, players that drag their teams through, you only have to look at what Suarez did today.
GingerrrFox Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Anyone who says we had a go can't be serious. We played poorly, we played exactly into their hands. We didn't play with pace, we didn't stretch the field, at times we made 2-3 passes when 1 would have been enough, we had **** all movement into space and overall the midfield was absolutely terrible.
DennisNedry Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Still don't feel as bad as I did against Watford or Cardiff They were much, much worse!!
lgfualol Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 I still think we'll go through How many pints have you had
Guest ttfn Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Are you being serious now? England fans are unbelievable sometimes. We were atrocious. We had more possession and more chances. We lost to a total freak of a goal. I've been watching football 25 years and can't have seen more than 2 or 3 goals like that. It doesn't have to be making excuses to say we were unlucky. We WERE unlucky, and ultimately unlucky teams don't qualify. We need to learn from this and take it to France.
theessexfox Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 It wasn't just the blatant red card though - everything went for the Uruguayans. Barkley got wiped out, an advantage was played - how was that not a booking? Should've been two or three more after that too, they were putting awful challenges in. How can he blow at 95 minutes after so much clear time wasting in injury time? Such frustrating stuff. Having said that, Uruguay were here for the taking. Play like we played vs Italy and we would have comfortably beaten them: Suarez aside, they're nothing special. Defence was ordinary, not awful though I didn't think. Pinpoint cross for the first. Gerrard and Henderson - what do they offer? Front 4 were pretty ineffective today, although Rooney was our best player and deserved his goal, and Sturridge held it up and dribbled well when he wasn't falling over, which was too often. So aggravating.
wakeyfox01 Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 To win a World Cup you need a minimum of 6 or 7 world class players and we don't have any at all Then what are you complaining for?
m4DD0gg Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 One of my rules of life is no expectation no disappointment. Yeh im slightly gutted but when you have a back four consists of Jagielka, Johnson and Baines there really is no hope. As usual our supposed world class players go missing or make basic mistakes - fair play to rooney he got his WC goal but what else as he done. 300k a week for that is a joke and i really hope the press hammer him.
Jimothy Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 I thought we attacked and tried to create chances. We tried to get in behind. I thought Barkley was fantastic when he came on too. At the end of the day most people on here said they'd be happy if we went out whilst trying to play football and trying to attack rather than the negative bullshit we offered up 4 years ago, and that's what we've done, and now you're all moaning. I see green shoots of positivity, but we need a massive clear out now. Go for youth, it's the end for the like of Baines, Rooney, Gerrard etc. Germany aren't scared to play youth and look at the likes of Muller, Ozil etc. Still young and in a second World Cup already and look fantastic.
BlueSi13 Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 we're f**king England. we shouldnt be losing to these poverty nations Let's face reality, we are now no superior to nations like Ukraine/Poland/Czech Republic/Serbia etc....we were just fortunate enough to qualify this time. No point getting upset, it's never going to change.
Stuliasz Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 If we had better players at our disposal, we'd have qualified from the group. There is a serious lack of English talent out there right now. Hard to blame the players or management that are there for that, the problems are far more deeply rooted and the FA have a lot to answer for.

MooseBreath Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Annoying thing is that we were getting a real head of steam up before the second goal, there was no recovering after that. The game was there for the taking after our equaliser, we just needed to keep piling forward, instead we started messing around with defensive passes and just gave up the momentum, almost like we were scared of winning. Very typical England infact.

So aggravating. It wasn't a game for Barkley to be honest, even before they brought him I thought it wasn't the right game. As I've said before when you need a goal you bring on a striker and when he did bring him on it was far too late.
Merging Cultures Posted 19 June 2014 Posted 19 June 2014 Have we actually underperformed or are Italy and Uruguay better teams? As a nation, the world's richest league, and the country that invented the game we underperformed against a much smaller nation. They were better teams, but they wouldn't be. We've been underperforming for too long.

Oh and Rooney was just a little less of a stinky turd than the rest of the dirty runny diarrhoea that played for us. Before I knew who the foul was committed by it was clear it was a yellow card. Even if the ref didn't see a foul he did see a clear body check as Sturridge raced onto the ball on the edge of the box. I would be surprised if you could find 5 people who thought that wasn't a yellow card every day of the week. I don't want to focus on the referee - I think we've generally been very unlucky, but that was a terrible call.
