MikeyT Posted 15 July 2014 Posted 15 July 2014 Sky Sports understands Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has been offered a new long-term deal to ward off interest from other clubs. Vardy is entering the final year of his contract at Leicester and the club are keen to reward the 27-year-old for his progress with a new four-year deal to secure his long-term future.
lgfualol Posted 15 July 2014 Posted 15 July 2014 Good. He does deserve it. Hopefully he'll score a few.
foxfanazer Posted 15 July 2014 Posted 15 July 2014 Definitely deserves it. Would love to see him start most games next season
john ridley Posted 15 July 2014 Posted 15 July 2014 Not too sure on this one , but is Vardy about the last one to be tied to a new deal ? At least it shows something is still going on down there .
VLC86 Posted 15 July 2014 Posted 15 July 2014 Good. He has probably earned it. Probably? he was unplayable for most of one of our best seasons ever, he 100% deserves a new contract and if it doesn't work out for him in the premier league it certainly won't be through a lack of effort of desire.
WhispyWizard Posted 15 July 2014 Posted 15 July 2014 Best to tie him down now incase he has a good season.
Jon the Hat Posted 15 July 2014 Posted 15 July 2014 England call up within 12 months. He is the new *Ian Wright. * albeit like 5 years older when he got his league break.
Ric Flair Posted 15 July 2014 Posted 15 July 2014 Along with Drinkwater he was the most influential player in our team last season. He was crucial to the way we played and when he was injured, I thought we looked far less dominating. Not sure if we'll play the same type of football this season but if we don't then it will be a real shame as it's what gave us so much success albeit against a much poorer calibre of teams.
RowlattsFox Posted 15 July 2014 Posted 15 July 2014 His pace will be essential next year, even more so than last year. Penalty winning ability could be important too.

Lets hope he works on his diving during pre-season, seems to be a pre-requisite of being a premier league forward. He may be able to get a yard on Championship defenders, but hes unlikely to gain enough ground to get the lunging tackles against prem ones.

You say that but I remember seeing quite a few stupid tackles by premier league defenders last year. I imagine he'll pick up a few yellows as well because he likes to leave his foot in when trying to block a clearance.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 15 July 2014 Posted 15 July 2014 Couldn't work any harder, he's inspirational. Sign the papers!

Without wanting to start a debate too much, it might be good for us to sign someone who is very good at taking penalties amongst other things as well.
bigbiff Posted 15 July 2014 Posted 15 July 2014 I dont remember being given that many penalties last time we where top flight not compared to other teams
dave_the_fox Posted 15 July 2014 Posted 15 July 2014 Vardy will get more goals in the premier than Rooney, probably england n all
sphericalfox Posted 15 July 2014 Posted 15 July 2014 Not too sure on this one , but is Vardy about the last one to be tied to a new deal ? At least it shows something is still going on down there . Andy King and Vardy are the last couple of 1st teamers with 12mths left on their contracts

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 15 July 2014 Posted 15 July 2014 Perhaps Vardy wont want to sign a long term contract!
AKCJ Posted 15 July 2014 Posted 15 July 2014 We were shit without him in the last few weeks of the season. He's integral to the way we play. Vary, Mahrez and Drinkwater fill me with a lot of confidence going into the new season.
