dmayne7 Posted 20 July 2014 Posted 20 July 2014 If this guy doesn't bring the right attitude, he simply won't be signing. Think Pearson will be even more wary of this after the Ben Marshall signing. Ben Marshall? I am missing something here. He never settled here and struggled to fit into the squad. Nothing wrong with his attitude.

Fox42 Posted 20 July 2014 Posted 20 July 2014 Telling the fans to fook off at barnsley was ok then?Only a rush of blood to the head, mate. Remember Konchesky at Millwall two seasons ago?
Grewks Posted 20 July 2014 Posted 20 July 2014 Only a rush of blood to the head, mate. Remember Konchesky at Millwall two seasons ago? and Drinky's hand to ears? All people that get some stick want to give some back, it is human nature. Just because you earn thousands of pounds a week does not mean that you lose this.
dave_the_fox Posted 20 July 2014 Posted 20 July 2014 Who remembers him and the stripper Yes mate mentioned it in t'other thread

J.Lisemore Posted 20 July 2014 Posted 20 July 2014 Ben Marshall? I am missing something here. He never settled here and struggled to fit into the squad. Nothing wrong with his attitude. Why do you think he struggled to fit in with the squad? I dont think Pearson signed him with the view of letting him go within one season do you? Crawling to take a corner when we were losing was just one example of his sh*t attitude.
lcfcbobby Posted 20 July 2014 Posted 20 July 2014 don't want him what so ever he is not a premier league player he didn't score goals for Cardiff. vardy is much better and stronger and will cause problems for defenders with his constant running.

I don't think it will be a question of Campbell or Vardy. I want Campbell to sign for the simple reason that our management team want him to sign.

You're probably right about Vardy but I think you're looking at it the wrong way. Vardy is undoubtedly better than Campbell but Vardy is literally the only player we have of that ilk and a big part of how we play is based on how we utilise Vardy. If JV gets injured then we don't have a similar player - that's where I think NP sees a role for Campbell. He's not necessarily joining as an instant pick.

I would sign him to add to our striker options.
Brooksy Posted 20 July 2014 Posted 20 July 2014 Tanner's saying that we're still in for him but the deal is on hold due to wages.
st albans fox Posted 20 July 2014 Posted 20 July 2014 i really hope that JV does the business next season but he has played two seasons outside the conference, one of which was unsuccessful. he has just had a good campaign but to state he is better than a guy that has been playing at PL level for several years is a tad strange. Tanner's saying that we're still in for him but the deal is on hold due to wages. guess it depends how badly he wants a weekend in bangkok then !
jayfox26 Posted 20 July 2014 Posted 20 July 2014 I agree that Campbell would be a good addition to the squad, but I'm not convinced he should be on £30k plus. As people have said on here, Vardy is arguably better than Campbell, so why should Campbell earn more than Vardy. Our current top players like Drinky, James, wes, vardy etc probably won't be on more than £30k a week, so I don't see why a player whos no better than what we already have should earn more than everyone else!
J.Lisemore Posted 20 July 2014 Posted 20 July 2014 Really not keen on this signing now. Wages seem to be a big problem with Campbell, hope Nige moves on and finds a similar sort of player on reasonable wages, easier said than done though.
Jace Posted 20 July 2014 Posted 20 July 2014 I've heard Frazier Campbell has already accepted friend requests from Paul Gallagher and Ben Marshall and on Facebook.
Harry - LCFC Posted 20 July 2014 Posted 20 July 2014 I've heard Frazier Campbell has already accepted friend requests from Paul Gallagher and Ben Marshall and on Facebook. A few of my mates have started following him on twitter too. Can't argue with that kind of confidence.

At what point is vardy arguably better? He's only had 2 seasons of 'proper' football.
Harry - LCFC Posted 21 July 2014 Posted 21 July 2014 At what point is vardy arguably better? He's only had 2 seasons of 'proper' football. How many players are there in the Championship who've played more professional football than Vardy? A lot. And how many of them is Vardy better than? Nearly all of them I'd suggest. I don't see how Vardy's lack of game time at a higher level matters when comparing him to others. It didn't matter with all the other Championship players. We knew he was better than them because we could see it in his performances. Why should we change our way of looking at it when comparing him to Campbell? You look at ability not what divisions they've been playing in.
thybluefox Posted 21 July 2014 Posted 21 July 2014 Not sure I'm up with all the "Vardy is better" stuff - the fact is we don't know. So far he's had one poor season and one very good season in the Championship. None of us know how he'll be in the Premier League.

You look at ability not what divisions they've been playing in. So you watched every other striker in the league for all 46 games? Vardy is the best striker we currently have at the club, but one good season does not make a career. You only have to look at players like Leroy lita who have had one decent season at championship level, but have a terrible record apart from that.

I think it's fair to say that our player's player of the season was better than 90% of the others in the division. It's an assumption but I don't think it's an unfair one. It could just be a flash in the pan as you say but I don't think so. It seems to me that he's become a better footballer rather than just thriving on a style of play or confidence. Aspects of his game are better than they were before so I can't see why he'd go backwards any time soon.
Guest Posted 21 July 2014 Posted 21 July 2014 I was wondering what had happened to the rest of the thread before I realise that Bert had closed the first Campbell thread on 17th July on the basis that Ulloa was seemingly signing and Cambell was seemingly going to Palace - ridiculous - closed because two events hadn't happened yet and, as this thread suggests, one might not happen. I've noticed Bert's modding a few times recently in a way I've never noticed previous mods. Far too trigger happy, deletes bit of conversations if he doesn't agree with them, stops conversation when there's no reason to. Not happy. Who oversees the mods?
