TrentFox Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Someone on here has introduced a fee of 2m ??? Is that true ?? If so, this is astonishingly good business for a player who just is not good enough for us this season.
SlaneyLCFC Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Feel a bit sad to see chris wood go but if he gets more game time then i wish him all the best and thanks for some cracking goals. Bags of potential but just blows hot and cold now and again.

TrentFox Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 yea sorry that's my bad I said 2 mill I just heard it off one of my mates there's nothing concrete in that priceOkay. Shame !
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 If it is about 2 mill then that's too cheap imo, he's always scored goals and is very young, given the way things have gone this window a fee should be at least double that.
Nick Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Good luck Chris. Time to move forward into a new era and Chris isn't quite Prem quality yet and won't get a look in this season. I might have preferred a loan deal too but if Pearson is prepared to let him go then I trust the judgement. Wonder who the new man will be. Exciting times.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Very good finisher but all round game lacks that little bit more needed to succeed in the prem. He is 4th choice here and a his age will want settled first team football so makes sense all round to sell him. Hope he does well but loaning him out is no good for both him and Leicester. If the Thais want to keep moving up the prem towards the upper echelons then if he is not first choice now then he is unlikely ever to be. Hope he does well with a settled run in a team.
johnny the fox Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 http://www.wiganer.net/news/tmnw/latics_hopeful_of_signing_attacking_duo_837997/index.shtml? chance of a bidding war?
Eastwellfox Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 The man came as our saviour where goals were concerned. Last season just didnt get enough game time. Something went off between him and NP which has tarnished his career. Good no bloody good striker who I would have given an opportunity over LA. Think we may regret this.
paddy Agyemang Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Worth 4 million !! What a joke 2.5 seems to be the figure
The Year Of The Fox Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 My hero after THAT goal at Burnley. That was the moment I knew we were up.
jayfox26 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 That is piss poor in this transfer window. He is worth £5M in this window but otherwise £2.5M he's definitely not worth £5m! And don't start saying Ulloa cost £8m and Deeney is priced at £10m. They have higher price tags because they have played extremely well for their respective sides and were/are the best players at their respective clubs. Wood clearly isn't one of our top players and Pearson clearly doesn't see a place for him in our prem squad so there is no point hanging onto him if we don't want him!
lcfcfan0906 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 According to Sky Sports and first for lcfc Wolves have agreed a fee for Chris Wood? Not sure if true as on twitter he says he is looking forward to next week? Think it is a mistake if he goes and therefore we will lose the option of using him against Everton. Wanted him to prove himself this season as i think he has potential to be good!

Think we may regret this. why do you assume that something happened between Nige and Wood? Could it not just be that Wood was unfortunate to have 2 strikers ahead of him that scored alot of goals and formed a great partnership?
weller54 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Good luck to the lad, decent championship striker, BUT definitely NOT premier league quality...
davieG Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Wigan still fancy their chances http://www.wiganer.net/news/tmnw/latics_hopeful_of_signing_attacking_duo_837997/index.shtml
rico Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Was mentioned on the Wolves v Norwich game that Wolves are hoping to sign him this week
Leicesterpool Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 We shouldn't be selling him, loaning out perhaps as he still has something to offer but this could come to haunt us.
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 We should be looking to flog him for 4 million. He is as good as Martin or Vokes and if he plays 46 games as a sides focal point he will get 20+ goals easily.
Claridge Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Very, very disappointing. yep, just about sums wood up after those first few games. From so good to so ...well average at best.
ealingfox Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Season loan would definitely be better I reckon. However if we can play our hand well and get a tidy fee, or even spark a bidding war for him, I'd sell. There's a good chance we'd buy another striker, and an even better chance that said striker would be better than Wood, thus raising the overall quality of our squad.
