cjslcfc Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Pete O'Rourke @SkySportsPeteO 3m Wolves have agreed a fee with Leicester for striker Chris Wood. #wwfc #lcfc EDIT: Thank you for the goals Wood. Especially that screamer against Burnley. That will live long in the memory!
Lionator Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 When him and Ulloa were on the pitch yesterday, it was pretty clear that Wood is miles behind where we need to be. Dangerous running forward but too often gets caught with his back to goal, a situation where he is pretty useless.
Robin JD Popley Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Sad to see him probably on his way out as he offered a lot in the early days, but, good luck to you Chris. Hope it works out for you at Wolves.
sdb Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Potential completely unfulfilled here. Can't help but feel it's mostly his own fault. Good luck Chris.
Lionator Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Onto his 8th English club at the age of 22 by the way. Trevor Benjamin anyone?
johnny the fox Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Shame if true.. but he seems hard to fit in to any system..starting to become a gypsy..
dayday Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Simply not good enough, offload now and get another striker in.

Especially that screamer against Burnley. That will live long in the memory! Nige must have set up a deal for his replacement now then. Who do people reckon - Delort or Slimani must be the most likely (a similar style of play to Wood), though I guess Deeney or another 'poacher' could be on his way ? Of course it could be an unknown, or someone linked a while ago - or we're not thinking about buying to replace Wood at all (perhaps relying on the likes of Blyth coming through) !
cjslcfc Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Nige must have set up a deal for his replacement now then. Who do people reckon - Delort or Slimani must be the most likely (their build and style of play), though I guess Deeley or another (unknown, or talked about a while ago) similar 'poacher' ? It does make me think that. I think with Nige preferring 4-4-2, especially at home and against the lower table teams, that having 3 strikers isn't enough. 4 is perfect
kingfox Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 My mate(yes I have a mate) is quite surprised that we are letting him go permanently. Wood had his good games, but then sometimes he looked like he wasn't the right fit for us. Wood out Deeney In
Rob1742 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 I still think this is not possible, unless we take a bath on the deal. Wolves won't be able to match his premier league salary. That is unless we pay him off like we did Wellens?
AKCJ Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Him going suggests we'll be looking for another striker.
Rob1742 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Also Wolves have some big wages players that are sitting in the reserves. They are called the bomb squad and is similar to our Mills, Beckford and Danns situation. Can't see Wolves being able to buy him, unless we pay him off. Loan I can understand, but sale I can't see it
LCFC FOX Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Should of loaned him out, we will regret this. Regular game time he'll become like Wickham
crisp packet Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 11:27 We are hearing reports that Wolves have agreed a fee with Leicester for striker Chris Wood. The New Zealand international impressed for Leicester last season and Wolves appear close to signing him. Sky sports transfer centre.
Harry - LCFC Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Him going suggests we'll be looking for another striker. Three good first team strikers with a bit of back up. Not sure we will tbh. Other positions are surely a priority.
bald reynard Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Him going suggests we'll be looking for another striker. My money is on Delort. Him pulling out of the Charlton move last week implies that he has another club interested - could be us ?
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Sad to see him go on a permanent deal Thought a loan might be best but it surely must mean we're close to bringing a replacement in.
Mr LIvingstone Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Must have a replacement lined up if this happens
Bettsj2 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 He's the kind of player that everyone wants to do well. He's young, clearly talented and has so much potential but too often just didnt cut the mustard when he had his chance. Wish him well and hope he's a success. Jackett knows him from Millwall so should get the best from him.
Babylon Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 So long as there is a massive sell on clause, we get a decent fee, and we bring in a good replacement, so be it.
adamlcfcbevo85 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Stupid stupid decision very disappointed buy ulloa for 8 mill raising to 10 mill then sell someone who is just as good just a little younger for 2 mill, one thing about Leicester we are shit at doing business to benefit our club we need to be like levy from spurs !!!
theessexfox Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 I would have preferred a loan deal, think he could still have a future here especially with his age WHO NEEDS BECKFORD WHEN WE'VE GOT CHRISSY WOOD
