theessexfox Posted 31 July 2014 Posted 31 July 2014 Who would you go for to be our main pairing next year?
kingfox Posted 31 July 2014 Posted 31 July 2014 Moore & Morgan. With either Upson or Wasilewski on the bench, along with Schlupp as defensive cover if we get a new LB in time for Everton.
Tom's Pasta Posted 31 July 2014 Posted 31 July 2014 Upson (if fit) and Morgan. I would love Moore to start but I would ease him in rather than chuck him in right from the start
lgfualol Posted 31 July 2014 Posted 31 July 2014 Morgan and new CB. Moore is great, Wasyl is sometimes great and Upson wont be fit for ages. I want someone better than great.
Richard Posted 31 July 2014 Posted 31 July 2014 Wes and Wasyl, with Wasyl being permanently replaced by Moore towards January when he's ready
Dickov22 Posted 1 August 2014 Posted 1 August 2014 Upson and Morgan If Wasilewski is anywhere near a start I'll be gutted. This is the Premiership. He won't get away with the stuff he did last season.

De Laet and eventually Moore will make the step up - jury is out for me on the rest of the defence, sadly.
Dickov22 Posted 1 August 2014 Posted 1 August 2014 De Laet and eventually Moore will make the step up - jury is out for me on the rest of the defence, sadly. De Laet improved hugely last season, he's so quick that in the event he does make a mistake he can usually rectify it. It'd be great to see Moore make it, with him being a Leicester lad. I love his wholehearted attitude but I'm not sure he's quite as good as we all think? Upson won player of the season and I've spoken to a Stoke supporting friend who says he was excellent for them. He couldn't understand why he wasn't picked ahead of Huth and Shawcross in his favoured position. Left footed too. Hope he can improve our defending from set pieces
Alex_LCFC Posted 1 August 2014 Posted 1 August 2014 Moore and morgan. The expierience of upson and wasl will be vital to clise the game down at the end of the game. I think we have 4 solid centre backs
Fox92 Posted 1 August 2014 Posted 1 August 2014 Moore and Morgan. Don't like the thought of Morgan and Upson/Wasl - bit slow - turned easy. I have said you don't need pace if you can read the game well, but I just don't see it with those two/three. I'd have Moore in for his pace.
Ric Flair Posted 1 August 2014 Posted 1 August 2014 Got to be Moore in there for me, his pace and his desire is a must. I can see Upson being influential at some point though as he's very good at defending set pieces and is obviously more comfortable playing the left central role.
The Railway Man Posted 1 August 2014 Posted 1 August 2014 No reason to change from the Wasyl and Morgan combination yet. Moore should be pushing for a place though towards the end of the season if he adapts to the higher standard well. I don't get this obsession people have with pace, you are just as likely to get torn to bits by pace in the Championship than the Premier, Chelsea and Arsenal both have no pace at CB, Atletico didn't either last year and won La Liga, if you defend to a line that is designed to cope with the pace of the attack you are facing it shouldn't be a problem.

Wasyl will not get away with those elbows, not in the PL when every move is under scrutiny. He'll cost us. Moore is a great talent and should start the season in my opinion. Him and Morgan are our best pairing currently.

He has got away with it in the CL before, have a watch of Agger or Shawcross, you can get away with it if you are clever. I'm sure Moore will develop into a very good centre back but I'm not starting him just yet ahead of Wasyl or Upson who both had better seasons than him last year (even more so with the opening set of games) as a couple of bad games could kill his confidence longer term, a couple of times last year we were caught short due to his inexperience and I think the older heads is the way to go first up. If we are going to start Schulpp as well across the back that would be half the back four starting in the top flight who at times struggled in the Championship in terms of positioning.

Pretty sure fans were saying the same as soon as we signed him, yet he never got sent off. I'd be surprised if Wes and Was didn't start. Pick things up where we left off.
