Blanesta Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 I think people are being harsh on Mahrez right now. He's taking an extra dribble and not finishing well, but he's still been our main creative force and he's done some lovely things. Wouldn't even consider taking him out now I agree, it's good to see someone who wants to run at players in this sort of game.
Haydos Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 I know its only half-time but what a performance from Konchesky! Agreed, another who looks full of beans.
TrentFox Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 From a stream, couldn't have hoped for more. Come on !!!
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Jeffrey and Mahrezs speed is making the Chelsea full backs sit back a bit which is helping.
leicesterseddon Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Playing brilliantly so far. Never looked comfortable (we wouldn't expect that), but I genuinely think we've had the better chances. Looking at Chelski's bench I still think they'll have too much for us, but I'm very happy atm. We've shown we have more than enough to compete at this level.
SomalianFox15 Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 The possession stats are almost even, Hammond and Kingy have played superb.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Chelsea know exactly what they are doing, wearing us down so that they can go all guns blazing from about 70 minutes. Chelsea have wasted little energy in the middle of the park. Good luck on that, Pearson believes in fitness...
Merging Cultures Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Chelsea know exactly what they are doing, wearing us down so that they can go all guns blazing from about 70 minutes. Chelsea have wasted little energy in the middle of the park. Maybe, but we have a very fit team (except all the injuries!).
TheUltimateWinner Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 I know its only half-time but what a performance from Konchesky! Considering he's 33, he looks fantastic at wing back.
copunk Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 cracking first half, expect Chelsea to come out flying after half time, but we have matched them all the way in that half, aside from doing too much mahrez looks like he will be a pain to any team this season, him and Ritchie using the space down the right brilliantly, ulloa doing what is asked of him, Hammond and king have gave nothing away, and for any doubters of konchesky, hes been solid so far
Crinklyfox Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Jose will get into Chelsea at half time. Expect them to improve in the second half. Right now we're doing a good job and look like we belong in this league. Chelsea were probably expecting another Burnley.
pleatout Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 I didnt think I'd be posting at halftime that I'm a bit disappointed with us in the final third! Superb all over the pitch. As others have posted, doesn't matter what happens in the 2nd half, we've made a massive statement. Didn't expect anything out of the game today. I still think we'll get beaten but we haven't been outclassed and that was what I was afraid of. !!!! Dennis Wise has just said we deserve to be in front. He's still a tw*t though.
BlueSi13 Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Think Chelsea will still do the standard 'bundle one in after 86 minutes from a corner and lucky bounce into the path of Drogba four yards out' but it's absolutely fantastic to see the Foxes acquitting themselves so strongly in the Premier League. We are surprising a lot of people which will only do the teams confidence a world of good! Allez Les Bleus

Right now we're doing a good job and look like we belong in this league. Chelsea were probably expecting another Burnley. Showing why we finished 9 points above Burnley and got the second highest amount of points ever in the championship. Holding Chelsea without some of our best players, impressive
RowlattsFox Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Hilarious watching Australian TV talking about our players, clearly haven't got a clue who any are raving about Mahrez though.
Finnaldo Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 So much for the 6-0 Chelsea predictions Chelsea could well turn up and score a couple in the space of ten minutes. Saying that, the way we've frustrated them this half is absolutely fantastic, in this half we've been toe to toe with the league favourites and we're stepping up with our best midfielders (I say that now but who knows???) and striker out. Very exciting times and I can't wait for the second half.
AmyLGK Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Jesus - I think I'm dreaming! What a first half! No way is the 2nd half going to be as forgiving!!! My only negative comment is Mahrez needs to sort his corners out...Knockheart is significantly better at taking them and as today proves we need more than one decent corner taker..! But WOW just WOW!
zak_lcfc Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 As mentioned the core of the team have looked great, Mahrez causing problems just lacking that final ball but really happy so far just hope the lads keep their concentration!
cc_star Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Will Drinkwater & James even get back in the team? King & Hammond second half Vs Everton & this first half have been colossal! Here's hoping for another 45
bovril Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 All players' performances are multi - faceted. You can criticise a player's final ball without meaning you think he's crap. People need to stop being touchy over criticism, this is the Premiership and we need to realise and learn from our weaknesses.
Jace Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 Which website was it that had the really good odds for us finishing in the top half?
Merging Cultures Posted 23 August 2014 Posted 23 August 2014 I've got to get on a flight to Jo'burg. Thought we'd be losing by now!!
