Crystal Palace v Leicester City match thread

Bad day at the office it seems. Concede two goals from a set piece early on and it's completely thrown us. Hopefully a lesson and not early signs of inconsistency.

62% possession lol - first time we control the ball, and we just capitulate.

This just emphasises how poor a choice Hammond was today considering we all expected to have more possession, and we've done sod all with it.

Palace are leading against us and we don't show any desire to either win the ball, keep it in possession or create chances.

Your original post said "so easy to defend and create chances when leading."

And when you look at Manchester United last week, that's where your simplistic theory falls apart.

But Manchester united didn't try to defend....they just tried to attack with possession rather than counter attacking.

Can we go back to playing top 7 teams again. At least the players go out there to prove themselves

I've said all along, this is something that frightened me. It's ok playing brilliantly against the top 7 teams, but we can't let that performance slip against teams around us/teams we are technically, on paper, capable of beating. Granted we beat Stoke, and we were great second half, but today we've been poor. Lets see how we react this time around for next weeks game.

Simple, really - Crystal Palace giving us a lesson in efficiency.

Look at that pass by mahrez...

that is the job of nugent and he hasn't done that in any game so far....Mahrez did that with a handful of touches.

What the **** are you smoking?

Mahrez is a winger, Nugent is a deep lying striker.

Get a grip.

Oh aye - shown he's a decent enough enforcer in the first 5 games, but he isn't then good at recycling play like James.

Palace have done their homework, set up to counter our strengths, and we haven't been able to make enough real chances. We're in the Premiership and days like this will happen. We still have a decent side and a good manager. Let's learn the lessons and move on but keep behind the team.

Early on? We've had over half an hour to try and get something back from this game and shown nothing bar a debatable was it / wasn't it penalty shout. Abject showing and it's hard to comprehend just how unbelievably terrible Drinkwater has been.

Got to move on from this, and quickly.

Pearson needs an urgent re-think. He's got it badly wrong today. Need to get the right team out for Burnley, that is simply a must win. Anything other than that would be an absolute disaster anything like today's team and level of performance and it will be a predictable 0-1.

Exactly.

Nugent is a deep striker and therefore responsible for linking the play...he does nothing.

This is the prem you aint gonna win every game, its how you bounch back from your defeats that counts, we are still unbeaten at home.

We were poor today though didn't create much and couldnt handle set pieces it could have been 3 or 4 nil
