Guest ttfn Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 I don't think we should drop Kasper just because of one glaring error. He's the number one, so we stick by him and hope he learns from it. A settled back 4 will be key for us this season. I think we should persevere with Schmeichel as well but he hardly covered himself in glory for the first goal either.
Ricey Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 The more I dwell on yesterday the more frustrating it becomes. The lack of desire and urgency in particular leaves a bad taste in the mouth. The amount of crosses blocked because we took long to whip them in, the amount of times possession was lost because we were dawdling on the ball and the lack of forward runs were a clear sign that players weren't motivated enough for the match. Plenty of individual brainless decision making yesterday (I'm looking at you Kasper) but Pearson has to take a brunt of the blame for me, for his team selection, odd substitutions and failure to motivate. I thought he was classless in his comments at the end as well. Horrible day.
Dickov22 Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 I think we should persevere with Schmeichel as well but he hardly covered himself in glory for the first goal either. Yeah I agree. He wasn't brave enough
Callabinho Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Anyway, dwelling on this result isn't going to change anything, what will, is going out and getting Pardew sacked in a few weeks.
bovril Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Please tell me Cambiasso was injured and not dropped from the squad in favour of Dean Hammond and Any King.
Phube Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 I know he's a Leicester Lad and Fan's favourite but no-one is mentioning that Moore really should have done better for the first goal... Cut that header out and there's no need to worry about the Kasper flap or Koncheski's tracking...
sdb Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 What actually was the deal with Cambiasso? Was NP ever asked? Surely a place on the bench if not considered right for this opposition/a 442 (although i'd say the same for Hammond).

Good last paragraph thought he went back to his old ways yesterday went in with a lead at halftime team talk we will sit on what we have and defend deep. The amount of times we could have attacked them second half but some players seemed reluctant to cross the halfway line, stupid decisions cost us two points.
Corky Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 We did attack them in the second half, to an extent. We had at least five opportunities down the right to send in a good cross and failed to do so. Nugent, De Laet and Vardy all guilty. Having said that, Burnley didn't create a huge amount from open play and that's one thing I agree with Pearson about- the way they were going to get back was through a set-piece or a mistake.
lgfualol Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 When are we playing a top 5 team again? I'm looking forward to us doing well.

Schlupp second half walked most of the game when we had the ball going forward? I'm all for protecting a lead when the time is right but we should have gone for a two goal advantage rather than sit back. If we would have got this it would have deflated Burnley - when Sordell came one he could see that we were doing just that because they started to press us from the front.
Reg Vardy Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Leicester fans (and I am a ST holder) are unbelievable Liverpool beat WBA 2-1 and it's a good result we are winning 2-1 ( would have gone fifth FiFTH!!!!! ) and Kasper gets it wrong and we draw 2-2.we are the worst team in the Premier league in a second!! B@llocks. Still 9th, pluses yesterday 45 minutes of brilliance from Mahrez, Hammond and Drinkwater were first class, great to see Knocky get a run, apart from the foul ( and it was) James looked great, Pearson makes changes and both score., still unbeaten at the KP....oh and Burnley were the better side second half and probably deserved their point.... Roll on Newcastle, we,ll get three points and Pardew gets the sack.....paranoid not half!!!
Filbert_Ross Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 My mate went bog at the ground yesterday and popped his head over the top of the cubical cus he thought his mate was next door, it wasn't... Some guy was sat on the bog beating one off. He must love football.

foxfanazer Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Win, lose or draw I love my club and I'm very proud of the players we have here at the moment. Good times
dedlock Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 I know he's a Leicester Lad and Fan's favourite but no-one is mentioning that Moore really should have done better for the first goal... Cut that header out and there's no need to worry about the Kasper flap or Koncheski's tracking... I mentioned it earlier in the thread and in the'blaming names' thread. Having seen MOTD it is even more obvious. The defence moves,Liam hesitates, then tracks back playing the Burnley lads on. Inexperience? Was James clumsy foul 20 yards out with seconds to go inexpierience too?
Grewks Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Few points which need to be mentioned.. Moore couldn't handle Jukebox for 90 minutes in my opinion. Yes he won headers, but only when unopposed. Every 50/50 was being won by jukebox and was a real handful, as he has been in every game he has played against us going back to his cov days. The James sub should have either been in addition to Hammond, or king should have replaced ulloa instead of nugent. We know burnley play 4-4-2, and when we couldn't deal with it in the second half we needed the control of an extra midfielder, king would of given us this and also a goal threat. Schlupp is young and raw, but exciting. The morons sitting near me who were criticizing him after scoring and assisting yet saying 'c'mon dave' everytime nuge he passed the ball to shackell's head annoyed me. Not because they backed nuge, but because they slated our most impressive, if inconsistent, performer on the day.
Harry - LCFC Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Not our best performance but still did enough to win the game. So frustrating to draw but I'm not too upset because we're still in a good position, we're going to have off-days in amongst what had been sheer excellence for the first five games and this is one of them. My biggest criticism is that we made no effort to run down the clock late in the game. Usually you'd start doing that after the 85th so we had a good ten minutes to put the ball in the corner and we didn't do it once. It's not a pleasant tactic I know but we used it very well last season and probably earned a few more points because of it.
Monsell1976 Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 We have got to get the work rate back up, because what we lack in quality, has been made up by high tempo, and work rate. The last two games we have lacked that, and the amount of passes missed over the last two games will be punished by better teams. Like has been said by pundits, and on here, yesterday was down to a lack of respect for burnley, it for me had the air of complacency about it. All this said we have still started well, but need to get back to playing at the tempo of the first six games. Also I don't think the defence has done a lot wrong, but we need to address how many goals we are conceding. Onwards and upwards, hopefully put more pressure on pardew next time out.

I think the players thought they had won already.
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 For me, i just cant get my head round why we'd play Hammond in a 4-4-2...... he is ok in a 3 man midfield but not mobile enough for a 2. Dont get me wrong, he's done ok so far but to pick him a 4-4-2 shocked me when you have James and King on the bench. He's the worst of our 5 CM's and its now time to drop him. Its not just Hammond, there's others which i feel should be rested/dropped etc but it was just that decision on Saturday that bugged me the most

It can work sometimes but for whatever reason it didnt on Saturday. It was clear the side was picked with the intent to steamroll a fragile Burnley. Unfortunately they were fired up to a degree we didn't anticipate and as a result, we lost all intensity. If we'd have gone 3 in the middle to start with and just kept patient possession, we may well have won comfortably. Fvck it.

Yes although against Chelsea, we didnt have any other options in CM so they picked themselves plus Nugent played and dropped in as an additional midfielder
Callabinho Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 It's fair to say that we played the occasion and not the game, Nigel's frustration with Dyche carried through to the players, he must have really pissed him off!
Bettsj2 Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 Yes although against Chelsea, we didnt have any other options in CM so they picked themselves plus Nugent played and dropped in as an additional midfielder And everyone worked their bollocks off which didnt happen in this game.
