No, we do not have a great chance. We have a chance.

If we are in the semis against a beatable side we have a great chance. There are 2 rounds to go through before that.

How do we not have a great chance? Cheer up ffs.

United are the 'best' team left in it and they struggled past Yeovil and Cambridge.

West Brom

Villa/Leicester

Palace/Liverpool

Blackburn

Derby/Reading (looking like it's going to be Reading)

Bradford/Sunderland

Arsenal/Middlesbrough

Preston/Man U

Even the most pessimistic fan would look at that and say there isn't anyone to fear.

Especially considering the 'better' teams are United, Liverpool and Arsenal and we've more than held our own in games against them this season.

It's not a case of cheering up, it's a case of not being a mug and getting your hopes up for literally nothing.

We've only beaten one of the PL teams left in it all season and I'd give any of those Championship sides a fair chance of turning us over.

Sentence in bold  lol absolute guff. If two of the best 4 teams in the country aren't to be feared then is anyone?

We are in the 5TH round.

Nobody was saying we've already won it ffs, just that we've got a good chance. And we have got a good chance. It'll be tough tomorrow but it's a winnable game.

We've beaten two, and would have beaten a third but not for a completely abject refereeing performance.

Why should we fear United or Arsenal? We beat United 5-3 and have more than held our own in our other two games against Arsenal. Explain to me why it's "guff" to suggest that we shouldn't fear them.

Yes, congratulations, you've got something in your post right. We are in the 5th round, which means we're two wins from Wembley, three from a final and four from winning it. Given the sides left in it, it's not the biggest task in the world.

Granted we're not favourites but should we beat Villa and get a favourable draw then we've got a ****ing amazing chance. As it stands now we've only got a 'great' chance.

'turning us over'

It's like you're not giving us a chance at all!

Win tomorrow, decent draw next round and we're at wembley. Not a given, but if we're ever gonna win it, no better chance than this year. So you know what will happen.......

I wasn't counting Villa because it doesn't matter if they're in the next round.

We should fear Arsenal and Man United because they are both much better than us. They've both beaten us in the last few weeks. 9 times out of 10 they will beat us again.

Are you reading your posts here? You're talking about 'two wins' as if they're an absolute formality.

An amazing chance of winning it is being in the final and a goal or man up. A great chance of winning it is being in the semis against a beatable side. A good chance is a good draw in the quarters.

Can you honestly not process how much of an exaggeration it is to say the 8th highest-placed team left has a great chance of winning the whole thing before their 5th round tie has even started?!?

Only in your head does that read as though i'm talking about wins as 'an absolute formality'. In reality it reads as though i'm suggesting we've got a favourable chance, which we do.

We've already beaten two PL sides this season, win tomorrow too and we're then two win away from winning the cup, difficult you might suggest (you'd be right), but absolutely MORE than do-able. Every team left in it will fancy their chances, i'm certainly not one of the pessimists that look at the league set-up and think that games are a formality. For example, i'd put Palace as favourites for this game against Liverpool.

If we win tomorrow, again i'm talking ifs not when, then we go into the next round with a maximum of 5 other PL teams left. How can you not fancy your chances? This forum boggles my mind sometimes, it seems Leicester City attract some seriously miserable fans.

Glad Derby have gone out, had fears of them beating us in the quarters.

Blackburn have had their share of fortune being up against 2 10 man prem sides but they've put them away well.

everyone still in it is starting to dream a bit, but we've not got "a great chance".

if we beat villa and palace keep their lead here we've got a great chance. all it'd take is united to draw arsenal and suddenly the next best team in the comp is crystal palace...

quite a few ifs though.

Some seriously deluded ones too.

And no, if we win tomorrow we are 3 wins away from winning the cup, not 2. Again, we're in the 5th Round, not the quarters or semis.

I'm not saying we don't have a chance, we're still in it, of course we have a chance. But that's all it is, a chance, not a great chance, not an amazing chance, not even a good chance yet.

as an aside i absolutely despise crystal palace for basically no reason. anyone else?

Me too.

An irrational dislike I've had for ages.

I'm the opposite, never really gave them much thought, but I'm in love with Yannick Bolasie, and they tend to have a decent atmosphere going. We'll see if I still feel the same about them if Bolasie moves.

i think it started when they made that shit little section in the bottom right corner of their crowd and seemed to label themselves as the inventors of singing, the inventors of supporting a football team and basically the first people to do anything, ever.

then they appointed warnock. then holloway. then pulis. then warnock again. then pardew!! it's sort've carried on from there.
