ScouseFox Posted 17 October 2014 Posted 17 October 2014 the main man knows the score. nice game , but DIFICULT. i agree leo.
PerfumePonce Posted 17 October 2014 Posted 17 October 2014 The persecution complex on here is getting stronger, he means another manager, a different one to Pardew, it could be any of 19, but it is most likely to be Redknapp, Martinez, Irvine, Hughes, even Dyche or Poyet. Why would he mean Pearson, when he we have made an excellent start to the season. All he is saying is that he thinks Newcastle will win, and if they do the focus will be on another manager. Away from the paranoia it looks like Krul, Janmaat and Dummett will all be fit enough to make the squad tomorrow and possibly play, no news on Tiote or Cisse, but I assume they will be in the squad, like Schlupp and Mahrez for us. Apologies for trying to resurrect this thread... Was only playing devil's advocate anyway. Don't actually think Nige's job is in jeopardy.
Tuna Posted 17 October 2014 Posted 17 October 2014 It will click for Newcastle at some point, as it will for every team. Expecting a comfortable defeat tomorrow, 2-0 - 4-0.
Tielemans63 Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 Any points gained away from home are a bonus. I think our counter-attacking prowess could cause Newcastle some problems. I'm going for 2-2.
reynard Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 Newcastle have conceded at least two goals in 9 of their last 12 home league games. Those sides include Palace, Hull, Swansea and Sunderland, all bottom half teams last season. Should be lots of goals then because our defence has looked pretty average at this level to be honest. We don't look capable of keeping many clean sheets and our away performance at Palace had all the hallmarks of a relegation outfit, A big improvement needed over the last two matches to even get a point. Not impossible. I'd be happy with a draw but think Newcastle will win fairly easily.
Durnerz Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 We've not won there in donkeys years, hopefully today is the day.
Ross-Kemp Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 Will Mahrez be playing, in the casino last night.
st albans fox Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 Will Mahrez be playing, in the casino last night. If he was then he won't! I remember going there in the eighties and we were winning with not long to go. We lost. we've been battered there on a few occasions. We have won there not so long ago methinks. History says that a draw will be a good result.
roblcfc84 Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 I live in the north east and know a lot of Newcastle. If they start slowly the atmosphere against their own team will be ferocious. They are desperate for change and I think are vulnerable. This is a game when the first goal really will decide the outcome
TrentFox Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 Have horrible suspicion of heavy defeat today. Important game for defining our start to the season, for me. Win and we're doing fabulously. Draw and it's a very confident start. Lose and we're suddenly one point from three games with a tricky fixture up next. Come on City.
lgfualol Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 I think they will get at least two goals. They'll probably pick on De Laet and constantly cross it in- Schmeichel canny catch at the moment. Reckon we'll at least score though.
lcfcsnow Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 Wouldn't start Ulloa, last two games he's struggled and today I feel we need pace up front. No doubt he will start though and struggle.
Out Foxed Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 Wouldn't start Ulloa, last two games he's struggled and today I feel we need pace up front. No doubt he will start though and struggle. he's struggled because we haven't been the ball to him. we need to drop hammond and get back to passing (overloading the midfield).
lcfcsnow Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 he's struggled because we haven't been the ball to him. we need to drop hammond and get back to passing (overloading the midfield). Absolutely, if he starts today we've had it.
ScouseFox Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 surely james comes in today. a further 90 mins in the break for the reserves, we weren't very good last time out so its not like it's unfair to drop Hammond either. gonna finally get the midfield trio we've been after hopefully. with nuge, ulloa and Vardy up front. same as United. if I was manager we'd batter these
Guest Col city fan Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 Absolutely, if he starts today we've had it. Oh yes..very rational post... Just because we might play Hammond we are bound to lose? Don't be silly now? I want a midfield three of Drinky, Cambi and King today. Don't mean we'll automatically lose if Hammond plays.
LCCFox96 Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 Agree with those saying James should come back in. It's always seemed inevitable that, as well as Hammond is playing, James would come back into the side for him. Drinkwater, Cambiasso and James could be a fantastic midfield combination - the talent, energy and threat going forward would be impressive there! As for today's game I think taking all 3 points is a very realistic outcome but we will need to up our performance massively from the last two games. Wouldn't turn my nose up at a point just to keep the points total ticking and the gap between us a relegation rival the same but I think most fans would be disappointed to lose again as our away form has not be brilliant so far (still early days though I know!)

You only want King to play now he has a red card to his name He's our new no nonsense centre mid
Devonfox1884 Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 These are shite at the moment, let's have some optimism!! 2-1 City.
