Was it YM driving school can you remember?

They are frcking atrocious and seem to be everywhere  in Leicester

Not them. Can't remember, but if someone said it I would.

I used to deliver down by the driving Test Centre and the amount of time I'd see learner cars parked on double yellows or obstructing driveways/traffic. Honestly think standards have gone downhill.

Y’all should just be lucky you don’t have to daily drive on the NDR out here in Norwich.

Multiple near misses and crashes on it every single day, they now have to keep a patrol car on this stretch of road at all times due to the consistency of idiots not knowing/caring how to use multi lane exits on the numerous round abouts

Sheffield is very good at a 2 lane approach to a traffic lighted crossroads, the right hand lane says straight ahead and right..... until it says right turn only.

By which time you're rather stuck in the wrong lane to go straight on.

Milton Keynes is a goldmine for this.

On my old car I had automatic dimming and full beam control, it was awesome, trouble is I got used to it and now just end up driving full beam everywhere by accident.

I've got this on my new car this summer. Haven't used it much yet at night but I can easily see why you got used to it.

I would also say that driving a 4x4 helps as you are not at eye line/lights level with other 4x4s if you were in a lower car.

Agreed I can see much better in my wifes 4x4 than I can in my saloon, which is already a low car

Haha I went uni there so mainly got around by walking, but when I drive up, even though I'm aware of these, it's not good how often I find myself messing up and indicating and hoping a good Samaritan will take pity on me :D

I drove from the south coast to Chesterfield yesterday - the number of zombies in the middle of the road was noticeable.

To counter the narrative about cyclists, they have their bad eggs too. I was quietly driving below 30 very near to home, making my way up a hill that is carworthy but beloved of cyclists and walkers, and over the brow of the hill I was met with Mr RallyCross (and he clearly was cross), and on seeing me doing nothing wrong started yelling at me for a crime I wasn't committing. I sometimes think people get angry because they just don't want you to be there. Happily there was no altercation beyond that because I was too baffled by his projection to hang about, and he was actually travelling faster than I was.

I am that tired of middle lane drivers i will just overtake them on the left then cut in front of them. I don't know how to police it but people should be getting 3 points it's so dangerous.

if you are a nervous driver, surely the logical thing would be stay in the left lane?

In a queue of traffic and my wife decided to let a couple of cars out since we weren't particularly moving. She got an annoyed beep from behind.

Since she's profoundly deaf, I didn't bother telling her until much later lol

LED lights are 100% a problem. The brighter they are I find that I'm not able to see as much of the car itself or what is immediately in the car's vicinity. This is a problem both as a driver and a pedestrian.

Walking or driving along I'm sure I'm not able to actually see as much of the road I'm walking/driving down as I could before LED lights were introduced.

Maybe it's only a problem for people with astigmatism like me, I don't know?

Talk of not wanting worse headlights, what was actually wrong with the older headlights? Cars could be seen and drivers using full beam could see far enough ahead to see where they're going when they needed it.

If it's an energy-efficiency thing, surely the brightness of LEDs could be adjusted so they're less of a nuisance to everyone else?

I feel like the genie is out of the bottle with this one though. Weirdly with LED headlights and LED streetlights, streets weirdly feel darker because the light sources are so bright at the source itself and they don't emanate and diffuse across the street.

There's a chance I may have thought about this too much lol

Because BRIGHTER and more POWERFUL is better! More, more, moooooore!

But I agree.

It also seems to be a disturbing trend to have teeny tiny indicators that are barely visible in daylight. I mean, on a BMW, that's fine, but the number of times I'm not sure if they're indicating...

Nope not just you, they are an abomination. Driving is awful, you're essentially guessing where to place the car sometimes because you're so blinded. Not to be a pearl-clutcher but I'm surprised there aren't more accidents on narrow/country lanes based on drivers being blinded. It's like full beam on crack.

I agree with all of the above but we're stuck with the legal requirements of vehicle lighting which allows for these high intensity lights.

They go through testing to make sure they comply with UK law in regard to vehicle lighting.

We're stuck with them, unfortunately. Unless:

They definitely need reducing in glare/brightness. LEDs are whiter and blue which blinds people more than the old incandescent bulbs. As I approach 50 they do me in more and more for glare. The fact that cars nowadays are bigger and therefore the headlights sit higher up doesn't help either. And don't get me started on the bane of UK roads - the awful SUVs.

After spending 5 days in India, I'm not sure I'm ever going to complain about our roads and drivers again (I will obviously).

I've never seen anything like it. 6 rows of cars in 4 lanes, white lines are for guidance according to the guide. Missed your exit on the high way, no worries, just exit down the entry slip. It's actually insane.
