Fox92 Posted 26 October 2014 Posted 26 October 2014 Been calling for De Laet out for weeks now. I want to see it happen. Second goal was far too easy.
Larry_LCFC Posted 26 October 2014 Posted 26 October 2014 Not seen the game yet, reading this forum I don't think I'll bother. I smell trouble. West Brom is huge now!
eastendfox Posted 26 October 2014 Posted 26 October 2014 Something not yet mentioned at this level is that teams study opponents much better than in the Championship, and have he ability to do something about it. Ever since the Man U game our opponents have been trying to stop us using our pace to get in behind them, by not playing a high line and it has been working. We then need to respond, but haven't yet been able to find a way to do so.
Ashley Posted 26 October 2014 Posted 26 October 2014 Been calling for De Laet out for weeks now. I want to see it happen. Second goal was far too easy. As ScouseFox said yes you should track your man but what was Liam Moore doing? Tap in either way jew goal at its finest.
theessexfox Posted 26 October 2014 Posted 26 October 2014 Even if it was Moore's fault for the second goal, there's no hiding from the fact that RDL had an abysmal game.
The Guvnor Posted 26 October 2014 Posted 26 October 2014 Even if it was Moore's fault for the second goal, there's no hiding from the fact that RDL had an abysmal game. Rtichie actually made some terrific and crucial tackles, and then invariably passed it straight to the opposition, I wouldn't single him out however, his passing wasn't any worse than the rest of them!
Fox 4 Life Posted 26 October 2014 Posted 26 October 2014 I counted 6 times that RDL gave the ball straight to a Swansea player and there were definitely more. Time to give Simpson a shot
ARM1968 Posted 26 October 2014 Posted 26 October 2014 Current form and confidence levels we'll be lucky to get a point from the next 9.
BlueSi13 Posted 26 October 2014 Posted 26 October 2014 Some Swansea City fans thinking that apart from QPR we will be the worst team they face this season.
Matt Posted 26 October 2014 Posted 26 October 2014 Some Swansea City fans thinking that apart from QPR we will be the worst team they face this season. On that performance they'd be right, can't see many more teams going there and playing worse than we did.
fuchsntf Posted 26 October 2014 Posted 26 October 2014 Moore was the worst player today IMO, both of the goals were partly his fault. Wasyl needs to come in for him now in my opinion. That extra experience may helpsorry the whole midfield was to blame, the left Moore and RDL stranded, twice!!Our defence had too much to do, for long periods, our midfield has a group, whoever has played, have took up wrong positions,or allowed the opposition to find empty space. 1st goal Drinkwater, 2nd goal the whole midfield allowed 2-4 Swansea players to get behind them. . Ulloa poor guy, is being left stranded or finds himself dropping too deep.Pearson has to find a nr 10 , for me King. Then Vardy Ulloa, keeping central with Vardy playing off shoulder of oppos CBs, running across the line. Not starting out on the wing. Nugent and Ulloa, no!! Nugent isnt a PL nr 10. If not King, then James or knocky. My midfield Cambiasso, James, Drinkwater, King. Mahrez for Cambiasso if we want to attack more, but 1st shore up the midfield, and get a consistency of shape and control back into our play. Nugent is a striker and cant do what the Birch did for us a few years ago. The first players on the team sheet for me:- Morgan, Moore, James, Drinkwater,King, Ulloa, Vardy. Mahrez/Cambiasso
inckley fox Posted 26 October 2014 Posted 26 October 2014 Absolutely depressing watch. What a horrid game. No desire, no quality, no guts. De Laet was absolutely shocking, not a Premier League right back for me. Vardy is absolutely wasted on the wing, and bringing 3 CMs on at 2-0 down? Haven't seen the Cambiasso miss again as I walked straight out of the room so I can't comment too much on that... West Brom is huge, we need to start turning up. Pathetic performance, Swansea are a solid side but we didn't make them work for their points. Agree that we didn't turn up. As for Cambiasso, at least he was attacking the ball. Who put the cross in?
inckley fox Posted 26 October 2014 Posted 26 October 2014 sorry the whole midfield was to blame, the left Moore and RDL stranded, twice!! Mahrez/Cambiasso I agree with pretty much all of this, though I'm not 100% sure on the 'first names on the team sheet'. The CBs especially are put under huge pressure by our slow defensive midfielders (Hammon, Cambiasso) and our full backs. Whenever I see another PL game I'm astounded by how much work our central defensive partnership has to do in comparison, though I appreciate that some of this is down to our preference for pressing high up the pitch.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 26 October 2014 Posted 26 October 2014 I asked before the game, why RDL was picked yet again? Now, after the game, I ask the same question following yet another inept performance, and clearly being the worst player on the field? His awful form is so consistent, that it is nigh on embarassing.
Dan Posted 26 October 2014 Posted 26 October 2014 I hate to say it but Burnley are offering far more here than we did yesterday. Some Swansea City fans thinking that apart from QPR we will be the worst team they face this season. I can't imagine even QPR playing that badly.
EGBFitness Posted 26 October 2014 Posted 26 October 2014 Even if it was Moore's fault for the second goal, there's no hiding from the fact that RDL had an abysmal game. Reasons?
kingfox Posted 26 October 2014 Posted 26 October 2014 If we don't pick up soon, I think we'll regret not signing Aaron Cresswell, James McArthur & another striker. Konchesky started well, but last few games he is starting to get bad again, like he can't handle the pace of the Premier League. We always knew that might end up being the case. De Laet as I've said so many times in past season's, would be hammered defensively if we got promoted. Well here we are, yes he has been up against some World Class players in Sanchez & Hazard, tbh he kept Sanchez pretty quiet in the second half against Arsenal; however he is good going forward, he can make the odd decent tackle, but at this level he is too prone to making massive errors which cost us goals. We beat United, De Laet had an influential part in one or two of the goals, but still Van Persie's goal for instance came from his side, due to him switching off against Falcao. He got torn apart by Bolasie against Palace, and yesterday he struggled against Montero, as I've said a few pages back to some extent it was Liam's fault, but De Laet's defending for the second goal was shocking, didn't even track the run & as soon as he knew he got ripped he decided to appeal for offside, then he just decided to give up and stand there, unacceptable play from him tbh. Liam Moore, the lad will get there, we have seen glimpses this season especially in the first month, how good he & Wes can be. At this level though you have to concentrate at all times, and last few games his concentration levels have been very poor. Will having Upson back from injury whenever that will be make a difference? The way Upson has performed at Prem level before, I'm not so sure. Drinkwater has been hugely disappointing so far, he was abysmal yesterday. He returned to the old Drinkwater, the Drinkwater that I had a huge dislike to a couple of season's back, a negative midfielder who sticks to short passes, who runs out of ideas, and when looking forward gives the ball away or over hits it. Hammond looked just as bad, but after starting well this season, we still know he isn't Premier League standard. Finally David Nugent, he may be a 100% type of player when it comes to working hard for the team, but at this level you need to look capable of scoring goals, and right now he doesn't look capable. He proved with Portsmouth at Prem level that in terms of goals he isn't Premier League standard; however come his first Championship season with them he knocks in 13 goals. Nugent isn't a Premier League quality striker & never will be, he is one player who is definitely Championship standard. These five players need to start showing improvements sooner rather than later, because right now these five in particular just look like Championship standard players.
EGBFitness Posted 26 October 2014 Posted 26 October 2014 I counted 6 times that RDL gave the ball straight to a Swansea player and there were definitely more. Time to give Simpson a shot Think you're spending too much time watching RDL and not the rest if the team mate. I can name plenty of players yesterday who gave away possession cheaply and not just RDL as an individual
ferry Bob Posted 26 October 2014 Posted 26 October 2014 supported foxes through thick and thin for over 60 years..I have never seen any team even Coventry, give the ball away as many times as we did against Swansea..the players were to blame not the manager..Can't see us staying up But we do have the memory of beating Man. utd 5-3 ,even though it was helped by two of the worst refereeing decisions you will ever see..and brings back the memory of Man.utd beating us 1-5 ,Georgie Best,Dennis Law ,Bobby Charlton etc in one of the best games ever seen at Filbert street. Not entirely giving up hope,but........
Guest ttfn Posted 26 October 2014 Posted 26 October 2014 If ever there's proof that we don't know how to play 4-5-1/4-3-3, it's the fact that in the last two games, Vardy started on the left wing against Swansea and attempted 8 passes and Albrighton started on the right against Newcastle and attempted 6. We don't have the foggiest idea about how to get the ball to our wide players in that system.
lee7 Posted 26 October 2014 Posted 26 October 2014 if moore understands the offside rule the goal doesn't happen, simple as that. you step up as a 4 not as 3/4. and if 3 step up and one doesn't then the one who doesn't is at fault. because he's playing everyone else's men inside like an idiot. Agree on the fact that if Moore steps up then the goal doesn't happen however for De laet to just stand still with his arm in the air that is unacceptable especially when his man has got in behind, he's presumed that everyone has pushed up. He can clearly see that Montero as soon as he passes that ball he wants to give and go, to not track the runner even slightly is shocking. It's basic schoolboy stuff, you never EVER don't track back, you play to the whistle. If De laet turns as soon as Montero has ran past him and sprints back he has a good chance of putting him off.
theessexfox Posted 26 October 2014 Posted 26 October 2014 Rtichie actually made some terrific and crucial tackles, and then invariably passed it straight to the opposition, I wouldn't single him out however, his passing wasn't any worse than the rest of them! Makes so many last ditch tackles as he is beaten or out of position too often.
