ScouseFox Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Not matching Liverpool's 3 in midfield was criminal for me. I thought James and Camby did okay but it says a lot that all 3 goals were scored by Liverpool's midfielders and all 3 scorers weren't tracked. Gerrard and Henderson could have stopped for a shit and still scored. tbf by the time hendo scored we'd had one centre half sent off and subbed off a defender for a winger, it's not surprising he was in a bit of space.
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 cannot call the 3rd one on midfielders tracking, you would think kasper would of held it! Henderson gambled..why didn't our players? Basically exactly my point.
lgfualol Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Kevin Phillips - what the fvck is he doing with them in the week? Absolutely impotent in the final third. First job in coaching. Perhaps was a bad idea..
ForzaFerrari Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 My dad(also a football fan)texted me and joked whether our center back and keeper had a conflict before the match... I actually don't know how to response.
Benji Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 So what? Don't gloss over the fact that we've conceded three goals to three midfielders who had an eternity to pick their spots, following bad defensive errors. This is crucial. He's THERE to pick up runners...for all the fancy play going forward this does not compensate for the fact that gaps are glaring! Goal 1: Schlupp takes ages to close down the cross and Morgan heads the ball back into the centre of the box. Goal 2: Morgan needlessly over stretches to pass a timid cross that is harmlessly going to another city player into the most dangerous part of the box to none other than STEVEN F'KING GERRARD. Goal 3: Kasper palms the ball not out for a corner, neither does he catch it, instead he takes the pace off the ball and says here you go Raheem, do something with this. I genuinely don't mind differences of opinion, Col, but you're either being a massive WUM here or you're having a 'mare. We never looked under a mass of pressure all game and after going down to 10 we looked the more dangerous. Individual defensive errors have cost us today, you said yourself at halftime Cambiasso was having a good game, he did exactly the same in the second.
tickler28 Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 :xmaslaugh: Sorry but all that last sentence says is "agree with me and I may actually take you seriously." Try having a bit more respect for other people's views. Vardy was poor tonight, I don't think there's much debate about it. I don't even agree with Moose about dropping him but I'm not going to try and pretend that I'm obviously right as you're doing. How was Vardy poor tonight... he was our best player in the first half...Heskey would be better than bloody Ulloa at the moment...holds up OK but is slow and can't remember him hitting the target all night?!?!
MC Prussian Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Not at all, it's because I'm such a massive fan of City that I'm so bothered. I don't want to see us go back down again and believe I can see where the problems lie. I had the same thing when criticising Beckford..lots of negative feedback. We MUST track runners coming into our penalty area. Again today, three goals were scored by three oncoming midfielders, who were utterly unmarked. It's a big problem (amongst plenty of others). Thing is, it should've never gotten that far. 1st goal: Free-kick into the box, poor clearance that lands straight back with a Liverpool player who just has to swing it into the box once more. And Morgan comes up with a very poor header. 2nd goal: The less said about Morgan's poor clearance, the better. 3rd goal: Schmeichel parries the shot instead of saving it. Oh, and we were a man down. Anything to prove your theory. Anything.
RoboFox Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Anyone see what happened with a Pearson and some fans?
The Doctor Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Henderson gambled..why didn't our players? Basically exactly my point. What players did we have to gamble? the defence was threadbare by that point and every remotely creative/attacking player thrown forward in search of the equaliser. The awareness for gerrards was poor (Lallanas was more a half cleared corner, that's not the midfields fault - it's the ball not being closed out fast enough). We risked 3-1 in search of 2-2 and it didn't pay off, it's not something you can pin on the midfield.
ozleicester Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Question Nigel, What are you going to to do to turn this around
Guest Bilo Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 what is it specifically that you don't like about Cambiasso col? is it because he's a bit of a glamour signing or what He's no Lee Cattermole, mate.
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Fight, passion, spirit all very good but this is the Premier league we need quality and class as well! 10 years of effort to get promoted chucked away in the summer transfer window. Feeling sad tonight. It was not that long ago people were comparing this team to Martin ONeils, there is no comparison.

Cat Burger Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 In my opinion if we had two decent full backs we would be a completely different team.De Laet getting a new contract is the most baffling decision all season. What has he done to deserve that except put Vardy through on goal? I still can't come to terms with it. We concede so many from crosses and Konchesky and De Laet stay in the team and show no improvement.
Buzzell Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Very disappointed from that. We wasn't too bad in patches, we look very shakey at the back and I still feel were too weak in midfield. We wasn't expected to win tonight but looking back at the game we could of easily grinded out at least a draw. Makes Saturday even more crucial. We need a win ASAP, just don't know whether we will pick up anything from Villa.
J.Lisemore Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Michael Owen must be the most biased and awful commentator I've heard. Actually felt embarrassed for the bloke, his love for Liverpool shone through that game. As for us? We lack so much quality in so many areas. Jeff Schlupp out on left wing is just a catastrophe, he's nowhere near good enough for the Premier League.

Their midfielders did. Ours, unfortunately, didn't. Both our central midfielders were miles away from any of the three goals. This matters. It matters because defenders will make errors. They do. And it matters because we've just conceded another three, this time at home.
Larry_LCFC Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Pearson is a cvnt in denial. "We played well. No complaints at all. We defended well." What a mug. Atleast have the balls to admit we are playing woefully and need to improve you arrogant arse.

ozleicester Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 oh dear...Nige again with... "if you dont like it... dont come"
MooseBreath Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Are you having a laugh Vardy offers 10 times more attacking threat and gives 10 times the effort than Ulloa up front... with Ulloa alone up front we might as well give up cos hell do beggar all alone and the midfielders behind him are not goalscorers ...now Vardy and Mahrez/Schlupp out wide in a forward three and I may actually start to take you seriously That you think we should go back to playing with no width says it all. Or do you want Vardy out wide in a three? Again, says it all. If we play wingers in positions where they will be able to get crosses on then Ulloa becomes a lot more dangerous. Albrighton did get a cross in that found Ulloa late on today. If he and Mahrez can do more of that then Ulloa will get goals. I'm a big fan of Vardy but we can't afford to carry him if he's not on form. His dreadful shot early on said it all. A confident Vardy takes a touch into the box and either wins a penalty or drives it into the bottom corner. Today's Vardy just sweeps it wide with no conviction whatsoever. We're playing a system that should fit Vardy perfectly and he's not looking like scoring. Time to try and get the best out of Ulloa. All imho of course buddy, Bro.

Might as well listen to Liverpool's version of Stringer.
LCFCFOX6190 Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Morons in the west stand slating the players?! Absolute idiots
