Jakemoore Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 What to say? At 1-0 we were the better side imo but only just. If we had held on to the lead for longer then I think we could've gone 2 up. They would have attacked us and we're better on the counter. Anyway, that didn't happen. I'm not blaming any one individual for the loss but Morgan made a poor clearance for lallanas goal, and konch was completely asleep. Kasper was poor for their third goal. We are in serious trouble. I'm just going to enjoy the ups, I just hope there will be some more.... Pleaseeeee.
Bettsj2 Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Is it still kneejerk to want Pearson out? He isnt going to be able to sort this out. Or shall we just wheel out, 'we're only 2 points off 17th!'
teblin Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Cambiasso's miss was one of the worst I've seen at the KP? Probably the worst.. And yet he was 'class'..unbelievable Col I have to be honest there was a time that you spoke some sense (I think). But you have a vendetta against cambiasso. He should have scored no doubt but come on he wasn't 3 yards out. You can still have a good game and miss a chance He had a decent game. Didn't stop and one of our better players along with James.
The Doctor Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Positives - we're scoring again and matched them in the most part, de laet looked much better Negatives - stupid mistakes, Wes had a shocker and kasper ****ed up an easy ball for their third. Also, sterling should have been sent off four times over with all the dives he made, the cheating twatpigeon.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 A spirited performance where we were put to bed by a side that is clearly miles ahead of us on development. Jesus, I swear some of you expect us to walk this league. We are creating chances and looking dangerous against some of the best sides in this league. Our luck will change. On a constructive note, we need to stop diving in at the back, wes didn't need to slide again today and it cost us a goal. Oh and pumping it up into the box when were desperate for a goal, why? As for the final goal, well, we were caught trying to make something for ourselves. Play like that in the next game and we will get three points. Sorry pal, but the wheels are well and truly off your optimistic bus, and the engine has blown up. Better get a new one ready for the Championship next year.
Corky Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 I thought we played quite well, we had some neat build-up, good move for the goal with a bit of luck with the finish and we got into promising positions. But often it was a touch that let us down, like Mahrez's when he was about to go through on goal, or we blocked our own shots. Missing open goals doesn't help. But you can't defend the way we did and give away such poor goals. It makes the good play redundant unless it is very special.
Fox4ever76 Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 A championship side, playing championship football... in the premier league hit the nail on the head
lgfualol Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 I thought Schlupp played well. He'll get the stick as usual though.
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 He was largely brilliant bar the miss, you have another chip on your shoulder, it's your new Redknapp saga... always bringing up Cambiasso. Brilliant? We've just lost 3-1 to a poor Liverpool side, where their three goals were scored by oncoming midfielders, completely unmarked. Watch the goals back man!
Merging Cultures Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 I can't believe people are saying Mahrez was the worst today. Sure those little passes don't always work, but he was turning their team inside out again with his flair and a lot of his passes did work out. Cambiasso's miss was terrible. Awful. No excuses. I don't know who we replace him with though.
RoboFox Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Owen kills any enjoyment, he could make a threesome boring. Unless he is talking about himself. I'm surprised he could talk at all, given his tongue was firmly inserted into Steven Gerrard's bum for most of the match.
shen Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 The first half was fine, the second half.... well... the less said the better. Liverpool were there for the taking. Main difference today is they have Skrtel in defence. He's a class Morgan. We have no threat from our full backs tonight, Ulloa gets no service in the box. He touches it about once and scores. He must be the deadliest striker in the Prem by goals/chance ratio! I am sure we have the potential to stay up, but how is the team going to get out of this rut? I can only see wholesale changes and a much needed break for some of our underperforming regulars helping.... maybe even a managerial change....
teblin Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 I thought Schlupp played well. He'll get the stick as usual though. He did OK. As did de leat today. Out captain and vice captain we the problems tonight.
Spanner73 Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 We can't complain about the effort and commitment there really isn't an awful lot wrong with the side but pearson will pay eventually eith his job and the reason for it is we can't score goals , his side his signings he knows deep down he needed a top striker in the summer and he failed to sign one and Now it's costing us it's the same old story up top , if he'd got one I truly believe we'd be ok but his stubbornness will cost him in the end !
DennisNedry Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Just got back. Decent enough performance ruined by awful individual errors. Their 2nd and 3rd goals were basically set up by us. There's no way we deserved to lose that game. Liverpool did the ol' smash 'nd grab.
Legend_in_blue Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 It doesn't matter who you play in this league, make any comedy of errors and a goal will cost you for each one. That's the step up. We don't have the ability for it imo.
Magictv Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 That was shit. A night of jokes. Cambiasso's miss..because he's Cambiasso he'll probably get away scot free on here. Imagine if it had been Schlupp or Nugent!Morgan's miskick then his daft sending offKasper's terrible handling. What will be overlooked (of course) is the fact that we had no runners marking Lallana, Gerrard or Henderson..all three, completely unmarked and all three..midfielders...For all the effort in the world, we look every bit a relegation team. And that was against a Liverpool side absolutely there for the taking.Cue the usual excuse merchants.
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 The best players by far were James and RDL, the latter giving Sterling hardly anything to work off. Everyone else..? Nah..
theessexfox Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Brilliant? We've just lost 3-1 to a poor Liverpool side, where their three goals were scored by oncoming midfielders, completely unmarked. Watch the goals back man! Yeah no one's claiming that staying with runners is his biggest strength, but yet again he was a step ahead in possession and moved it very cleverly. One of our best players on the night, despite his mistakes.
lgfualol Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 He did OK. As did de leat today. Out captain and vice captain we the problems tonight. I think they might feel a bit too comfortable in their positions/pay/etc Get Hamer on and after Moore for three games, they'll probably start playing better.
gazzer Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Is it still kneejerk to want Pearson out? He isnt going to be able to sort this out. Or shall we just wheel out, 'we're only 2 points off 17th!' I think we will be adrift by January window and we should keep drearson to get us back season after... don't throw good money after bad... its the glaswegian genes from my nana expressing
SamW Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Defending is our problem at the minute, the first and third goals were preventable. Other than that, we weren't too bad.
RowlattsFox Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Problem is balancing our attacking threat and protecting the defence, finding the right formation. We need someone to sit there and clear everything up, basically a better Hammond. Would be a priority in January for me.
Harry - LCFC Posted 2 December 2014 Posted 2 December 2014 Cambiasso's miss was one of the worst I've seen at the KP? Probably the worst.. And yet he was 'class'..unbelievable "Cambiasso, apart from his miss (thank God Nugent didn't miss that!) has had a good half (note that)..."
