Samilktray Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 Retired. The best player to play in the premier league imo. Let us all together in appreciation.
indierich06 Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 Yep, my favourite player in Premier League history. A proper class act on and off the field.
David Guiza Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 First non Leicester player I ever really idolised as a kid, he was simply incredible at Arsenal. Along with Bergkamp and Pires inparticular, he was unplayable almost all of the time for a number of seasons. His goal vs United and that backheel (Leeds was it?) were particular moments of genius.
leicsmac Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 Truly amazing player, had all the skills in the set and displayed them with an artistry rarely seen before or since. Some of his goals are worth watching again and again, and he was so prolific over a long period of time too. It's a little bit of a shame his copybook is blotted by the critical deliberate handball against Ireland, because other than that he was a consummate professional.
Jon the Hat Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 A truly wonderful player, and easily the best to play in the Premier league for me. He was at his peak here, which we can't say about many of the best players in the world. Also by all accounts a really nice guy.
Soar Fox Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 Not as good as Cristiano Ronaldo when he was in the premiership.
Nalis Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 Loved him at Arsenal, hated him for being such a cheating cu.nt v Rep of Ireland in the World Cup play offs and having the nerve to console the Irish players after the game.
The Blur Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 Few sportsmen or women play with such artistry in their respective sports- Federer was one of them and Henry was the another. Like Samilktray said, we really got to appreciate them.
MC Prussian Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 He'll always be identified with Arsenal. What a player. The five years between 2001 and 2006 were absolutely amazing - just look at those stats.
Stevosevic Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 No doubt the best Premier League player we have seen over a good period of time. An absolute joy to watch. He'll always be identified with Arsenal. What a player. The five years between 2001 and 2006 were absolutely amazing - just look at those stats. His stats really are impressive over that period.
Jon the Hat Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 Not as good as Cristiano Ronaldo when he was in the premiership. Not as good as Ronaldo at Real Madrid, but I think better in the Prem. Also, not a complete knob.
AKCJ Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 Not as good as Cristiano Ronaldo when he was in the premiership. Really? Henry had it all, a much better player than the United Ronaldo. But not as good as the current Ronaldo.
Stevosevic Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 Not as good as Ronaldo at Real Madrid, but I think better in the Prem. Also, not a complete knob. This. Ronaldo had 3 straight impressive seasons before leaving: 06-07: 34 games, 17 goals 07-08: 34 games, 31 goals 08/09: 33 games, 18 goals. Henry's peak in the Premier League: 1999/00: 31 games, 17 goals 2000/01: 35 games, 17 goals 2001/02: 33 games, 24 goals 2002/03: 37 games, 24 goals 2003/04: 37 games, 30 goals 2004/05: 32 games, 25 goals 2005/06: 32 games, 27 goals I'm sure a crazy number of assists in there as well.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 Good old Thierry! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJbEIQDF0kM
Jimothy Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 First non Leicester player I ever really idolised as a kid, he was simply incredible at Arsenal. Along with Bergkamp and Pires inparticular, he was unplayable almost all of the time for a number of seasons. His goal vs United and that backheel (Leeds was it?) were particular moments of genius. I'm such an Henry geek I know the backheel was against Charlton. Such a class player, he didn't run, he'd glide across the ground. Made it look so effortless. Definitely my favourite player of all time.
Fox92 Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 Not as good as Bergkamp for me (always said Bergkamp is the greatest to play in the PL) but a fantastic player and no doubt one of Arsenal's greatest. His partnership with Bergkamp was brilliant, but so were those Arsenal teams. Still the best team I've ever seen live.
Guest MattP Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 In the Bergkamp camp as well with regards to greatest ever in the PL but Henry was absolutely magnificent. Such a shame he blotted his career with one of the most outrageous pieces of cheating ever seen.
Manwell Pablo Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 Not as good as Ronaldo at Real Madrid, but I think better in the Prem. Also, not a complete knob. Harsh, It's hard to not dislike him for his actions in 2006 but most of the hate for him is just out and out envy, you have to give him credit he's got better as he's got older which can be said about a lot of people. I'd struggle to call a man who has gone out of his way to save the lives of dying children "a complete knob"
ScouseFox Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 definitely the best player the prem has seen for me. loved him. some of his goals and performances were just outrageous. an invincible, World Cup winner, euros winner, champions league winner, golden boot winner, probably one of my top 5 players ever. and he was always involved in boss adverts.
Corky Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 Wonderful player, class act and now gets to sit next to fellow greats Tony Gale, Tony Cascarino and Super Kev.
iamafox Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 What a player Henry was. The way he scored goals was like child's play, more often passing the ball into the net than striking it with power.
David Guiza Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 va va voom I thought he was the coolest man alive after that advert, I was around 11-14 at the time at a guess though!
Bert Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 Yep, my favourite player in Premier League history. A proper class act on and off the field.Apart from his free throw whilst playing for France v Ireland. But what a player indeed.

I'd struggle to call a man who has gone out of his way to save the lives of dying children "a complete knob" I was really referring to his period in the Prem, when he was a young man. He has definitely grown up and used some of his considerable wealth to help others. Apart from his free throw whilst playing for France v Ireland. But what a player indeed. I can forgive him that, because I don't think he really thought it through, it was a reflex.
