MPH Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 What I mean by professional distance is not to get all jokey and instigate a situation that the media could manipulate into an FA charge. He should have got up and got on with his job. Not to get all jokey?
Tom's Pasta Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Pearson always has been handsy with players, just his style
Stevosevic Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Pearson being a bit of a dickhead if we're honest
Donut Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Pearson being a bit of a dickhead if we're honest Again.
Brainy Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 To be fair the Mail make out as though he tried to kill him, there must be something in this.
Dickov22 Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 I think it was a bit embarrassing from Pearson. The Daily Mail have a real vendetta against him though. Last three years they have always linked other managers with his job. They don't like him
Strokes Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 How about something even more simple: Your a manager, be a bit more professional than grab an opposition players throat and then his shirt. In other words, stop acting like a ****. That's not more simple, or maybe I just don't understand simple.
ronnup Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Tactics were all wrong. Could've essily knelt on his neck and why wasn't Albrighton there to boot him in the nads?
Sharpe's Fox Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 McArthur said it was nothing. It's just willy puller journalists and a couple of you muppets who moan about anything Nigel does that you can pick fault with who make it a thing.
cityfanlee23 Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Basically, Mccarthur took pearson out, both laughed and found it funny, pearson made the throat gesture which Mccarthur laughed at first, as Mccarthur got up, Nige claims he "said something" to him, which then reacted in nigels tone dropping, and having a few words with him not letting him get on the pitch... the moral of the story is Nigel was having some fun, then lost his temper when something was said to him AGAIN, and he is seriously losing the plot. so far this season he's fallen out with a specific fan in the crowd, the media, and now opposition players.... People playing the whole scenario off as "nothing" are wearing tinted glasses, It was something.. but not the throat incident, the fact Nigel lost his temper after and started shouting at Mccarthur as he walked away pointing his finger. Not professional of Nige and also of Mccarthur if indeed something was "said"
broughtonblue Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 I think we should be looking at the following incident as described in the report, more than the hands on the throat episode 'Pearson's hands around his neck and immediately tossed him off, but Pearson held on' In a public arena!
Tom17LCFC Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 I can't believe people are using this as ammo against Pearson. McCarthur's even said it's nothing.
MooseBreath Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 The trouble is that I could imagine Pearson smiling and passing it off as nothing while he was actually killing someone. He has that sociopathic edge to him. From my stream replays it looked quite violent in spite of the smiles. Was unprofessional at best and the actions of a man under serious pressure.
Corky Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 FAO Danny Murphy- we chose not to sign McArthur, why would Pearson be annoyed at him for that?
Stadt Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Tactics were all wrong. Could've essily knelt on his neck and why wasn't Albrighton there to boot him in the nads?I'm really creasing at this
Larry_LCFC Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Match of the day spent quite a bit of time looking at it. It wasn't pretty, it wasn't a joke (despite his grin) and Pearson has made himself look like a tit..... again. One of the strangest reactions Ive ever seen by a manager.
cityfanlee23 Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 I can't believe people are using this as ammo against Pearson. McCarthur's even said it's nothing. The hands on throat bit can't be used against him as I even laughed at the time seeing him having a friendly joke with a player he almost snapped up in the summer.... What I didn't like seeing is pearson then getting angry, holding him back from walking away, point and him as he spoke sternly into McCarthurs face, then proceeding to shout at him as he walked away whilst the 4th official had to try and calm him down.... This only weeks after he was trying to take on an assistant manager (can't rememeber what team) and having to be pulled away again... Topped with the spat with our own support (which in fairness was justified as the fan was a ****) It's just starting to add up that Nigel's attitude seems to be boiling over consistently. Seeing that from a manager trying to steady a sinking ship isn't very good...especially when we only have a couple of players in the entire team showing that sort of fight...
EnglishOxide Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Looked to me like Nige playfully put his hand on his throat. In the split second McArthur said something out of order as he misunderstood Nige's intention and that's what Nige reacted to. McArthur has since tweeted it was blown out of proportion. A nothing incident. Move on.
GorlestonFox Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 I'm a big pearson fan but I think he's starting to loose it
Dickov22 Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 I'm a big pearson fan but I think he's starting to loose it LOSE not LOOSE
peach0000 Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Looked to me like Nige playfully put his hand on his throat. Tuna Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Pearson trending on twitter! How do you playfully put your hand on someones throat? Ask Charles Saatchi.
theessexfox Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 How do you playfully put your hand on someones throat? Serious question?
ADK Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Almost seemed like Pearson was trying to provoke him. Really weird. MacArthur clearly wasn't interested and Pardew looked bemused too. Reminded me of barging into a drunk person in a crowd who then tries to start a fight with you when you just want to get on with what you were doing so you smile and move away while they rant and gesticulate before forgetting what they were bothered about. I suppose it's possible Pearson thought MacArthur had taken him out as retribution for the transfer shenanigans when in fact it looked like Albrighton tripped him up.
