theessexfox Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Just showed McCarthur who's boss, nothing it, overreactions of people to try and turn anything against Pearson is bizarre.
Mike Oxlong Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Nothing worse than seeing old men trying to act tough.
hejammy Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Just showed McCarthur who's boss, nothing it, overreactions of people to try and turn anything against Pearson is bizarre. This may be true, but for Pearson to do that to allow negativity surround our club is very niave. He doesn't need an FA investigation which will turn his focus away from guiding the players to play their game. For that Pearson has shown his inability to stay professional and not for the first time this season.
CosbehFox Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Utterly bizarre how it went from reasonably jokey to being an idiot.
Dickov22 Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Why can't pro Pearson (I am, just) just accept that this was quite clearly bizarre and quite embarrassing behaviour? Of course it wasn't jovial, it stopped being jovial when Pearson wouldn't let go of McArthur. It became a bit aggressive. His post match explanation of it was even worse.
seenitall Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Anyone who could see the funny side in this is warped - Nige was well out of order and it was just as distasteful as Pardew's head butting exhibition. It looked to me that NP was mardy because he got bashed into and the way he held on to his shirt and then wagged his finger while ignoring Pardew's questions of what went on - shocker. Sort of reminds you of Brian Clough near the end of his tenure at Forest. Plot lost.

If it was an opposition manager they would be laying into him.
Head Honcho Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 I reckon he got a bit lippy and Pearson told him to behave.
Dickov22 Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 If it was an opposition manager they would be laying into him. Agree. It started off joking, but certainly wasn't at the end. A man under pressure
Mark_w Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 nige just enjoys a bit of a wrestle, that's all: image.jpg
narboroughblue Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 if he hadn't kept hold of his shirt I think it would have been laughed off but now the FA will probably get involved. Just what we don't need at the moment. Stupid.

Just what we don't need at the moment. Stupid. taking the pressure off the team innit, managerial master stroke fergie would have been proud of!
sdb Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 McArthur doing NP a big favour by playing it down. Very awkward viewing and a real sign of NP feeling the pressure...again. Really should rise above that.
st albans fox Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 I would be astounded if the FA do not ask for pearson's 'observations' re the incident. They will presumably ask the same of MacArthur and if these tally with the fourth official's take then it will be done and dusted and we move on. If MacArthur tells a different story to that which was tweeted yesterday then NP could be in a bit of trouble. Tbh, I think MacArthur is being sensible. He has no idea when he might come across Nigel in the future and to burn a bridge over this would be nuts for him to do.

shade Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Hiking in the Carpathians? last thing you want as a pro footballer is to be blinded by a walking stick
Guest bss9401 Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 I think that Pardew and the bench were just shocked and didn't know what to do. If it had happened on the pitch there would have been a 22 player ruck with all the dramatics that go along with it, sendings off and all. While it may have seemed a friendly exchange to some; I don't think it was and NP could be in some trouble.
roblcfc84 Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Sorry but dismissing this as a nothing incident is not good enough. NP is clearly being very aggressive and reacts really badly. JM is clearly saying let me go and NP let's it go on to long. The interview is even more strange - I can take care of myself...what did he think was happening?
Guest Col city fan Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 What on earth was Pearson doing? He never let go of his shirt then said "I can look after myself" in the post match interview? What the fook? A bit strange..is right
Guest Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 All the time during the incident, McArthur is trying to get up and get on with the game, even after having his throat grabbed, he pats Pearson. Pearson on the other hand pins him to the floor, and grabs his shirt and wont let him go. What an idiot. It was funny. There maybe no room for smiles in the City forum but Is there no room for humour in football? Seems this thread will take the course of pearson lovers and pearson haters unsurprisingly.
Fox92 Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 I take it nobody has read the Guardian's article then http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/feb/07/nigel-pearson-james-mcarthur-leicester-palace "I'm more than capable of looking after myself" has obviously been taken out of context throughout this thread. Asked why he had refused to let go of McArthur, who almost joined Leicester last summer only for the club’s two bids of £5m and £7m to be rejected by Wigan, Pearson said: “Because he said something to me.” Asked to elaborate, he replied: “I don’t have to reveal anything, do I? I’m more than capable of looking after myself. “Listen, I’ve a lot of respect for the lad, he’s a good player. You know what happened in the summer in terms of him coming here. There’s no problem with the player. He’s a likable lad.”
Corky Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 He should've let go of his shirt but we don't know exactly what was said. I think the FA will look into it given the coverage it has received.
Raj Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Aaahhh a player said something to our manager after he was held in a necklock whilst he was on the ground!!Come on Pearson...your ****ing losing it mate!!!
m4DD0gg Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Pearson really is a cock, a really unlikeable bloke.
