hejammy Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Don't patronise me, of course I've seen the whole thing. I was also close to it at the match, and I maintain it's a nothing incident. Pearson has potentially held on to the shirt for a bit too long, but both Pearson and McArthur are all smiles well after the 'strangle'. Then why did Pearson say what he said instead of saying 'oh it was nothing just a bit of banter'?
Itsthejoeker Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 This thread is the only embarrassing thing about the "incident".
Fox92 Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Then why did Pearson say what he said instead of saying 'oh it was nothing just a bit of banter'? If you read other articles he practically has said that. “Listen, I’ve a lot of respect for the lad, he’s a good player. You know what happened in the summer in terms of him coming here. There’s no problem with the player. He’s a likable lad.”
darko2k7 Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 I dont think pearson like it when " Mcarthur immediately tossed him off " dont think Pearson is in to those sort of things
hejammy Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 If you read other articles he practically has said that.Errr.... No he doesn'tThe fact remains that JM said something to him and he reacted Rightly or wrongly, I just think he could have been a bit more professional to save any unnecessary negative publicity thrown against us
EnglishOxide Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 grabbing a player by the neck who's on the floor, not letting go of him.when he's trying to get back.on.the pitch and then his stupid comments on motd is nothing of note for the manager of our club..yeah ok!!" If that was Pardew with mahrez most in here would be crying unless Pardew was sacked. That would be because Pardew has form for being a twat on the touchline. Nigel doesn't. Kitchandro is spot on. Jesus christ read between the lines regarding the 'I can look after myself' comment. Its in context in the Telegraph piece. Its not in context in the MOTD interview but managers often try and stick to the same line in multiple interviews to avoid being misquoted. He just cocked it up a bit.
m4DD0gg Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 If this was the first time something of this 'nature' happened then fair enough, however i am starting to think that Pearson lacks basic human interaction skills and verges on autistic.
Ian S Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 If this was the first time something of this 'nature' happened then fair enough, however i am starting to think that Pearson lacks basic human interaction skills and verges on autistic. You total t***. Autistic!!! Idiot
Harry - LCFC Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 If this was the first time something of this 'nature' happened then fair enough, however i am starting to think that Pearson lacks basic human interaction skills and verges on autistic. The previous incident was in reaction to abuse he got from someone else. That isn't a lacking of 'basic human interaction skills', that's a natural reaction you see happen very often in everyday life. Unprofessional maybe, but you're lying of you're saying there's something wrong with him for acting as he did.
Guest Cujek Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Knock him out, pearson pearson knock him out.
l444ry Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Clearly demonstrated that he's feeling the pressure now. Can City really afford to have someone like this in control when a clear head is vital. Not good!
weller54 Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Clearly demonstrated that he's feeling the pressure now. Can City really afford to have someone like this in control when a clear head is vital. Not good! Next season he'll be up against Wolves again... He likes to challenge them!!
Master Fox Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 The biggest shame in all of is that McArther didn't sign for us.
Legend_in_blue Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 I'm surprised by the innocent reaction by most on here. Turning it on its head, had it involved one of our players I doubt that the reaction would remain the same. Pardew remained calm enough - although he has little option but to do that after what he's been involved with before. Still, Pearson can look after himself, so we move on.
jamesmilner Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 If pearson hadn't have said "I can look after myself" i'd agree it could , maybe , be swept under the carpet but i'd have doubted that even without that comment , the shirt pulling went on too long . A different type of player would've made that a different outcome . I can't see the FA leaving it be now .Pearson basically is saying that if it got out of hand he could handle himself . Come on even the most biased Pearsonite must know that's unacceptable . If you look at the whole incident motd comment too , Nigel has boo booed !

Remember there were people defending him when he said what he said to the fan. It's quite strange. Some posters seem to think that discussing anything negative about Nigel Pearson is in someway disloyal. I think it's possibly an age thing? The forum seems to be full of kids these days. Others amongst us don't mind discussing both the good and the bad of Nigel Pearson. Because both are apparent.

The Match of the Day interview is heavily edited compared to the one on the BBC Sport website and in newspapers.
foxfanazer Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 this forum is hilarious. Honestly don't know how some of you get by in life

Others amongst us don't mind discussing both the good and the bad of Nigel Pearson. Because both are apparent. I was defending his right to have a go back to someone being abusive. The "and die" bit was too much however, similarly yesterday he shouldn't have held on to the shirt and let McArthur get on with the game, but we don't know exactly what was said by whom. I'd say a fair amount on here who do like Pearson actually criticise and question him and his decisions. You have people at both extremes but please don't think we're all fanboys who'll follow Pearson when he leaves. We didn't when he left first time and we won't again.
MaxLERenard Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Re the "holding onto his shirt" .... I'm sure JM was saying "chase me, chase me!"
fazzyfox Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 McArthur like all good pro's did a bit of research on his potential new club in the summer by logging onto this forum and going through the archives. Having reviewed the incident footage with a qualified lip-reader I can confirm the words "Usually"', "Daughter" and "Laying on" were used.
Robin JD Popley Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 It was awkward to watch live and I have just seen it back on the BBC now; still completely baffling why he did it.
