Guest bss9401 Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 I would dearly love another season from Cambiasso but I don't think he would if it is purely as a player. He may stay if a role is offered as player coach. What a catch that would be for the club and it would definitely help in attracting quality players!
Narborough_fox Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 Got a text off a mate who was at the awards evening saying he refused to talk about his future at all. Think he'll be off at the end of the season and it'll break my heart.
TMELcfc Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 Geoff Peters said his gut feeling is he will be off I don't think il ever feel such love towards a Leicester player ever again. Professional, Humble and got a giant heart. Major man crush...
dbtcity Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 After reading the article in the merc earlier I honestly don't think he will be signing a new contract
dbtcity Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 Take a look at @Merc_Sport's Tweet: The link for those that haven't read it
Itsthejoeker Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 I don't think anyone can make an assumption from that article, he'll deal with the situation when he's had time to mull over it and decide what is best for him and his family. Staying up has given us a better chance than previously, and him being so loved here will also play a part in it all. But it will be much like when he signed here, we won't know a thing until it's done.
GingerrrFox Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 If someone gave me a £1000 and I had to put it on him staying or leaving, I'd have to go with leaving. He's not making the right noises in regards to signing a new deal. Also he won't be short of offers after proving he's still got it after this season.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 You couldn't blame him tho. Just grateful he signed my shirt
Foxhateram Posted 19 May 2015 Posted 19 May 2015 I'm not sure, he is an old school professional, he has utmost respect for the people he works with. I think he is just the type that doesn't discuss these things in the media. We won't find out until a decision has been made for definite. On the flip side of that, England to live or Italy? Hmmm.
Lestoh Posted 19 May 2015 Posted 19 May 2015 Thing is, this was his challenge. Help us survive our furst season. That's done now, it's going to be a case of mid-table or the exact same thing next season. Think he'll head off to Argentina or MLS.
Ric Flair Posted 19 May 2015 Posted 19 May 2015 Can't begrudge him if does decide to move on, he's been absolute class for us. I do think he'll end up staying though.
Callabinho Posted 19 May 2015 Posted 19 May 2015 He's got to stay, he's got to bring the trophy back on the eve of the next players awards
HighPeakFox Posted 19 May 2015 Posted 19 May 2015 Are we speculating based on absolutely nothing, perchance?
weller54 Posted 19 May 2015 Posted 19 May 2015 He'll go unfortunately.. Think he'll see it as mission accomplished and move on to a new challenge in a different country.. He'll be swamped with offers and options.. What memories he has left us though!!
Manwell Pablo Posted 19 May 2015 Posted 19 May 2015 Certainly deserving of his Player of the year award, despite certain people with their own agendas trying to make out he's "no better or worse" than anyone else, he's been head and shoulders above most of the team for most of the season. Not sure if I'd rate him the best bit of business pulled off all season like the Telegraph have, but he'd be top 5 certainly.

If you take the last 8 games alone and where we were and are now, you'd have to say it's been hugely down to Cambiasso's game management. It's all hypothetical but i'm pretty sure without Esteban we'd be relegated. Our greatest of escapes might not have the last day and last kick of the game drama like some have but we've witnessed one of the greatest footballers ever to wear the Leicester shirt. I am absolutely distraught i'm on holiday this weekend, but if Cambiasso does decide to move on then nobody can fault him. He's set out what we all wanted him to achieve this season, he's been the model professional and an inspiration to fans, players and anybody who has seen us play. Whoever he signs for next if it isn't us will be in for a treat. I do still have an inkling he'll mull over plenty of offers but be tempted for another gig with the boys in blue.
Guest ttfn Posted 19 May 2015 Posted 19 May 2015 I think I'd go if I were him. He's played in the premier league now, he has contributed enormously to us staying up and he's loved by the fans but he's nearly 35 and unless he goes on to be an elite coach he's probably got 1-2 more years of massive earning before his earning potential drops off a cliff. Cambiasso is a name recognised around the world. I'm sure he could move to the UAE or China and make £5 million for a year's work rather than maybe £1 million after tax here. Obviously I hope he stays because he's great but I would completely understand him wanting to move on.

USA maybe, but even that I think would leave him fairly indifferent. I think if he leaves here he retires-I can see him deciding to hang up his boots on a high, having proven FIF wrong and made a massive difference in a major league. He might start coaching straight away, but I can really see him having another season here-his legs have definitely not gone and provided we're ambitious enough he might fancy a final roll of the dice...

Itsthejoeker Posted 19 May 2015 Posted 19 May 2015 He doesn't seem to be bothered about money, he appears to want to play football, and meaningful football. UAE or MLS isn't going to cut the mustard for him.

There is no way he will play in Argentina the games are chaos and the fans are Insane, I think the MLS is a good shout though although he is not a big name in football unless you know a few things about football and Americans for the most part would not have a clue who he is so he ain't gonna get super wages Like a Beckham or Gerrard etc
