Sticks with Schwarzer, Simpson, Morgan, Konchesky.

Sticks with one up front, even though Everton have leaked quite a few goals this season.

De Laet, Hammond & Albrighton not even in the squad.

Well done Pearson you plank!

He has to be on the pitch to play well.

Did you go to the home game with Villa, where he was by far our most creative player on the day, or the United game when he put the cross in for Wasyl to score.

FFS, in the little time that Pearson has given him on the pitch, i think he`s done well myself.

Pearson has his favourites which he will not drop, and others that he doesn`t like that he will not play, even at the detriment of the team.

lol lol lol lol lol

You can't be serious?

Did you see our performance last week at Villa?

Arsenal are a strong side. Everton aren't, just as Villa weren't. We've got to attack, especially if we want to stay up. Burnley play two up front regardless of who they play/where they play.

We won't counter with a front three at all. It'll just be the same as last week. Pointless.

We need to win. Not draw.

I did, and it was awful. But Everton play a style closer to Arsenal than Aston Villa do. We'll have about 35-40% of the ball today. We'll break with pace which worked at Arsenal and I think it'll work today. It was never going to work against Villa because they won't dominate the game in terms of retaining the ball in dangerous areas.

To say that Everton aren't a strong side is utterly barmy. Have a word.

Burnley play a flat 4-4-2 without real wingers. Whereas we play a front 3 (we've often played a front 4). You can't compare us whatsoever.

if they hadn't won 4-1 on Thursday I would have thought about being more attacking and not allowing them to get into their preferred way of possession play. (Which was our problem last week IMO)

we could go into this with a positive plan but it seems the management team think the defensive typical away performance will yield more.

I expect what will happen is that Everton will grow in confidence as the game goes on and their possession becomes more and more comfortable. Mahrez and schlupp will be pushed back by Coleman and Barnes leaving MJ and EC exposed 2 against three in the midfield. If i were Martinez, I would play lukaku 1 against 3 up top (effectively making one CH redundant) and ask Naismith to drop deeper into attacking midfield role. Sure to be space infront of our back three and no midfield cover there.

Like i said earlier, it's up to the manager to come up with a tactical approach to overcome these things if he is playng that formation with those players.

It'd help if he played well when he's given chances.

One decent game against Newcastle in the cup has made everyone on here think he's Ronaldo.

Are you actually for real? He has been very good in the few chances he's had, and you must admit its a little hard to shine when you ain't given the chance. Not sure. Can take you serious, you must be on a wind up, so well done.

- Have we been good enough this season (including the manager's line-ups)? NO

- Does our league position support this view? YES

- Has Pearson showed any signs of learning and improving his team selection and tactics? NO

- Is his loyalty to underperforming players hurting our chances of three points? YES

- Do Everton and Villa offer the same attacking threat as Arsenal? NO (although we also lost at Arsenal)

- Do we need points now? YES

- Are good performances and zero points good enough at this time of the season enough? NO

- Did we spend 9 million quid to have a born goalscorer playing an Iain Hume/Jamie Vardy/Paul Dickov role? NO

This is not good enough from a Premier League mananger. If we win it will just be a stay of execution.....

17 points at this time of the year is an embarassment !!

Same culprits in the side, same formation, either Pearson is expecting these same players to become winners in this formation or he's taking the piss, we will see after 90 minutes.

He probably has Morgan down as his player of the year

Interesting point made by henry there. If we lose, would it be better to be absolutely hammered to give the players a kick up the backside than play well and still lose?

I reckon he may have a point

I always remember a few years ago people claiming the we were going to hammer an opponent sooner or later. I think this year it's only a matter of time till we get hammered and I do agree I think it could do us a favour and kinda wish it happened a while ago. Again a few years back I remember us getting batter by Ipswich (6-1 I think? :dunno:) it was the best results of the season - gave us a huge kick up the backside, did we get promoted that season? I seem to think we hardly lost after that game?

Only potential positive to getting smashed today (we won't) is that it may force the owners hand

Shit team selection...shit manager....f###ing clueless nob...why why why Morgan instead of Waslewski???? Why 1 striker???????? What is the **** doing?????

Never understand why I bother reading these threads.

Full of wankers pre-match with absolutely no positivity.

Get a grip.

I know right!

I mean what could possibly of happened in the last few months to suck the positivity out of people!

Oh yeah, because it was so bad against Arsenal wasn't it?

Everton will have the ball and we'll counter with a front 3. Kramaric isn't the only forward?

We don't need to win today to stay up. A draw will be a great result.

Its OK everyone, we apparently don't need to be winning games, we are staying up. Must have done some deal with premier league meaning we can't be relegated, perhaps the Thais bribed them with elephants and ladyboys, although I can't help but feel these should be in our starting 11.
