lifted*fox Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 I genuinely can't stand the thought of Burnley or Hull being back in the PL next year.
MC Prussian Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 I genuinely can't stand the thought of Burnley or Hull being back in the PL next year. Burnley would be ok. Sort of. If it was only without that horrible Market Leader & many pound notes man at the helm.
lifted*fox Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Burnley would be ok. Sort of. If it was only without that horrible Market Leader & many pound notes man at the helm. Yeah, it wouldn't be so bad if that annoying **** wasn't there.
HowardsBulletHeader Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 derby.jpg Shameful turn out tonight by the sheep. And the 11 on the pitch.
Fox92 Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 derby.jpg Shameful turn out tonight by the sheep. Bit unfair. A Monday night on TV in Lancashire. And knowing Burnley it would have been expensive.
AKCJ Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Bit unfair. A Monday night on TV in Lancashire. And knowing Burnley it would have been expensive. Plus who in their right mind would want to watch derby play burnley?
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 By the looks of it, about 31 utter morons
Fox92 Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Tarkowski has declared himself unfit for tonight's game game Apparently Burnley are one of the clubs that have bid too. Take this back he's just issued a personal statement which reads along the lines of his mother is very ill and got worse just before their game against Burnley.
Footballwipe Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 I'm gonna bang on again about the Championship like I did a couple of months ago. but last night summed the whole apathy I have towards the league. Monday night, TV game between two teams with ambitions of finishing in the top two, or at least the top six, and what did you get? Silent, half-full stadium, slow and drab football (granted I didn't watch after the 26th minute) Nothing captured me into watching that game any longer. Maybe I'm becoming an elitist but the Championship holds no interest anymore. The playoffs are a different story. I can't wait for those to begin as they're usually a great watch.

To be fair, that sums up most premier league football as well.

What or which club you comparing it too though? You need to consider the size of the place - in any division - if you want to bring attendance into things. People will argue our attendance is constantly superb - even in League One - and I agree but we're a one club City so we're bound to pull in thousands. Same applies to Leeds and Derby, who both have fantastic home attendance too. Take Burnley for example, they are in an area where their local sides are Manchester United and Manchester City. They currently average about 17k this season, which is actually the same as Hull but look at the comparison in places. Burnley's population is just over 70,000. There are a lot of poor examples. I mean, nobody can defend Birmingham who should bring in more considering they are based in the second biggest City and in recent years have only played in the first and second tiers. Blackburn annoy me too. It's all relative.

Blackburn annoy me too. It's all relative. It is but these clubs can average more, and it's ticket prices which is stopping them. We're now seeing evermore the price of football. I bet Burnley was half empty last night partly because it was live (inevitable) but partly because I bet the tickets were astronomical for both home and away so there's no incentive to go. It seems like £30+ is becoming the norm for a lot of clubs as they sink down to the Championship but don't alter their ticket prices accordingly. It does the league no good when games broadcast are absolutely silent in stadia that are looking sparse. You can say that of Sunderland and Villa in the Premier League but the majority of the rest are at a very good capacity % (despite the astronomical ticket prices, but that's another debate, as is the utter silence at most grounds.) It's a difficult one, and maybe I've been conditioned having nearly two seasons attending games with the grounds so full, but it's frustrating. Even half full you wouldn't mind as long as there's a bit of noise; it just feels like one depressing pool of apathy down there at the minute. Maybe it's the need to succeed.

Ah right, yeah can see where you're coming from.. Yeah that's why I mentioned it about the Derby fans. Bit unfair. £30 is becoming the norm, even at that level which is ridiculous. Mind you I say "at that level" as if £30 is decent for any level of football which isn't true.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Leeds and Derby, who both have fantastic home attendance too. You can't say everything's all relative and they mention that Leeds have fantastic home attendances when given the sheer size of the place they really, really don't. It's a bigger City than Newcastle, Liverpool, Sheffield; still a one club city - and last season their average was what? 22/23k? Piss poor.
SystonFox Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Same for Derby. Poor attendances. Are they still giving away free season tickets with mobile phone connys and counting them even when it's blatant a 20k attendance

Knew Derby had a good home support and thought Leeds did too (especially given their away support). Can't believe it's only 23,000. Same for Derby. Poor attendances. Are they still giving away free season tickets with mobile phone connys and counting them even when it's blatant a 20k attendance Derby don't get poor attendances. They average 30,000 every season.
Dan Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 Burnley would be ok. Sort of. If it was only without that horrible Market Leader & many pound notes man at the helm. Fvck him. I hope they come up and £19mil man Ahmed Musa bags a hat-trick at Turf Moor and celebrates in-front of the bitter nobhead.
Dan Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 Leeds get dreadful home crowds because their prices are abysmal. If they had acceptable pricing and were less of a circus club I actually think they could regularly pull in 35k even at that level.

I remember when Leicester last went up there, it was round £40 ticket!
Fox92 Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 I remember when Leicester last went up there, it was round £40 ticket! That's why I haven't been Leeds away since Sven was manager and we won 1-2. Shame really because Elland Road is one of my favourite grounds.

Leicester_Loyal Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 Rhodes going M'boro for 9m, could rise to 13m. Brilliant signing.
ScouseFox Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 they are going to have paid more for a strikeforce of jordan rhodes and david nugent than we have spent on a whole first eleven that is going to win the league
