benpicko Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 Don't think I saw a single Liverpool match last season where he wasn't complete wank, and I saw similar comments on here and reddit whenever they were plating, yet there's always people saying he's got the potential to be one of the best whenever a match isn't on
filbertway Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 That's one bet I'm going to be all over then. Sterling to bag at Anfield! Great piece of business by Liverpool, if Firmino can step up a front three of Coutinho, Studge and Firminho could provide some sexy football.
FrankieADZ Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 At least Rodgers will have another £50m to waste. £40 mil since QPR get something like 20% due to the sell on clause.

He is so shit I can't believe this at all. best young player in the world trust me
benpicko Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 He is so shit I can't believe this at all. People always say this whenever they're watching Liverpool play yet as soon as the match ends he's suddenly got the potential to be one of the world's best and worth £45m

Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 I really don't get it with Sterling either. All he's done is hit the side netting in a world cup game. Since Suarez left he's been below average, not to say oh he's absolutely awful or yeah will be the best in the world one day, but if you have to choose between shit and brilliant he's been shit. Everyone at Liverpool, not least the manager, have been shown up as bang average since Suarez left, would say they'd be laughing with £40+m but history says he might as well go for £5m because Rodgers won't sign anyone of any note. Still think Balotelli for £16m is the most ludicrous piece of business in recent years, was clearly a Rodgers ego signing, can see him telling the board 'look, I'm a great man manager, I'll bring out the best in Mario'. Absolutely the only explanation for it imo.
Carl the Llama Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 2 goals & 2 assists last season and he goes for £49m? Wtf is wrong with the world?
FrankieADZ Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 Man City are desperate for some home grown players thats what it is,
Guest Col city fan Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 I wonder how much more money Rodgers is gonna spend at Liverpool now then? 49 million quid will give him another kings ransom to spend (waste?) The world of football takes another great leap toward insanity. People moan about the likes of Chelsea 'spoiling football'. For me, Man City have done the most damage of all. I can still think back to when they had the likes of Santa Cruz and Bridge on 90k per week. I wonder how much Sterling will be 'earning'?
Steven Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 Sterling has proved the character he is and he will throw a strip in a couple of years whether he is good or not. If he's good he'll force a move to Madrid or something, if he's shit he will try and force a move away. From an English point of view I hope he goes to a higher level. Sterling will never be any better as a player and person.

Clyne - 10m Ings - 8ish Firmino - 21m Gomez - 3.5m Spent about 43m already
Fox92 Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 Can't imagine they payed QPR much to sign him. Healthy investment that Think Liverpool paid about £700,000.
ScouseFox Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 liverpool have basically sold sterling for milner + £50m. nae bad. Clyne - 10m Ings - 8ish Firmino - 21m Gomez - 3.5m Spent about 43m already ings was free? wasn't he?
Dan Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 Schweinsteiger is a class signing at that price. One of the best all-round midfielders of his generation even if he is getting on a bit now.
Jimothy Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 liverpool have basically sold sterling for milner + £50m. nae bad. ings was free? wasn't he? Had to pay compo for him as he's under 24. Burnley held out for £8m.
ScouseFox Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 eight million pounds of compensation?! i thought it was usually a few hundred grand and a thank you very much
Jimothy Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 Sure Spurs paid £5m compo a few years back for someone they never actually played in the end.
RedSoxUK Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 eight million pounds of compensation?! i thought it was usually a few hundred grand and a thank you very much The fee would have been about 8-10m with or without the tribunal. It'll be around 8 I think.
The Doctor Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 At least Rodgers will have another £50m to waste. So, which Southampton player are they going to be in for next? Sure Spurs paid £5m compo a few years back for someone they never actually played in the end. John Bostock from palace? Highly rated 15 year old who then did nothing at all of note for a few years, not a clue where he is now.
CosbehFox Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 Tony Fernandes celebrates like all his Christmases came at once.
