RowlattsFox Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 The best league is the one I care about the most, so therefore its the Premier League. Good advert.
Carl the Llama Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 I know it's very fashionable to hate on everything Premier League but the 'best' league is surely defined as the one with the greatest entertainment value. Backed up by global viewing figures and consequent revenue. Therefore based on that I'm not sure how anybody could argue that the Premier League isn't the 'best' league in the world. Just my two cents. If you think we live in a world where monetary profit represents real value then I'm afraid you're in for a shock. You would hardly claim that McDonalds is "the best burger restaurant in the world", or that Starbucks is "the best coffee house in the world", but they are the ones with the largest income in their respective industries.
FireFox Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 They couldn't replace West Brom's greatest of great escapes with ours?
Stadt Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 I take your points but we don't have a side on the level of Barcelona, Real Madeid or Bayern Munich, the premier league doesn't have Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar, Suarez etc.. It's certainly not best in terms of quality especially when you consider the money spent compared to other leagues. The good things people say about the premier league usually aren't unique to the premier league.
Staffs Fox Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 They couldn't replace West Brom's greatest of great escapes with ours? To be fair West Brom's had better 'scenes', we did our with a game to spare and other than Vardy's celebration against the Baggies there wasn't a real iconic visual from our run

Nobody wants to see that. Great advert. That Aguero goal still gives me goosebumps.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 The main difference for me s the Premier League has less great players than La Liga but more good players.
Leeds Fox Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 Not necessarily. I think the Championship is a great league in terms of entertainment, but it's clearly not got as a good a teams or players as the Premier League, La Liga etc. Does this PL have the best players? No. Best teams? No. But for me personally I enjoy the style of play, the entertainment, and the drama more than any other league I've spent time watching over the years. And clearly from the advert that's what it's trying to sell it on. The Aguero goal, the Keane tunnel fracas, etc. I completely agree. Having 2 amazing teams doesn't make La Liga great, if anything it makes it worse. Paying Barca and Real a massive portion of the TV revenue doesn't help, and that's their own doing. The football is boring in Spain, with the exception of watching Atletico, Real and Barca, possibly Valencia too. The premier league is on a different level entertainment wise. Obviously you have boring games, but there're so many good games. When it's even entertaining watching Soccer Saturday, when goals fly in right up until the final whistle, you know the leagues good.
Stevosevic Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 Premier league is most exciting league - therefore for me it is the best. Not necessarily best quality.
kingcarr21 Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 The Prem is the best cause i watch it and im just f****** awesome.
Wymsey Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 Not being funny, but I hope Sterling struggles at Man City. His attitude was quite rude at Liverpool, and is one of the players than thinks he's better than the club.
foxfanazer Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 The Prem is the best cause i watch it and im just f****** awesome. You are to be fair
fox123 Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 Our game at home to Man Utd last season is an example as to why it is the best league in the World. Anything can happen.
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 Kaboul off to Sunderland apparently. Decent signing for them that. And Christian Benteke about to join Liverpool. Rodgers continues the spending.
Mark_w Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 That advert needed Henry face palming with LVG and Giggs.
Babylon Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 They couldn't replace West Brom's greatest of great escapes with ours? Blatant a West Brom fan made that video because he's upset we took the tag.

Sunderland signed another player Lens who seems decent.I cant believe liverpool are willing to pay 32.5m for him. It could really pay off or could be one of those liverpool signings that dont work. Sturridge, Benteke, Ings, Origi, Lambert and Balotelli. They're quite stacked in the striker department.
Haydos Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 Betting suspended on Austin following a big shortening on Newcastle?
Staffs Fox Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 Benteke to Liverpool has disaster written all over it! Will they never learn? Their scouting department (one man) must live in Hampshire but passed Birmingham on his monthly trip to Melwood and thought he looks decent, pay them what they want I can't be arsed looking elsewhere
Fox92 Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 Why would Benteke be a disaster? I agree £30million+ is a hefty price for him but he's still only 24 and has proved he can score in a bad side. 42 in 88 for Villa isn't bad at all. I know Liverpool play possession football but he seems complete enough and Villa aren't completely direct under Sherwood.

I think Christian Benteke is probably the goal scorer Liverpool have been missing. Hefty price tag though! I can only assume they will look to offload Super Mario. Who wouldn't?
Babylon Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 I think I'd rather stay at Villa, Liverpool are shit and will stay shit. Bide your time for a decent team.
EnglishOxide Posted 16 July 2015 Posted 16 July 2015 Yea I don't think Benteke is the right fit for Liverpool's style. He is in the Lambert/Balotelli mould rather than the Sturrridge/Suarez mould. He's not mobile enough for them IMO.
