So that proofs Bournemouth have more quality lol you got to be kidding right... haha

The result suggests they were on the day.

Why we have to indulge in this "yeah but we had the harder game" crap when there's nothing to suggest that's true I don't know. Spurs had a thumping victory against a team in good form, pretending that they were lucky and are crap makes you look just as petty as the folks we laugh at on the Spurs forum.

Spurs weren't lucky they are second for a reason, they are quality but we are also top by 5 points for the same reason

You need a win on the last day of the season to win the league, who would you rather play.

Bournemouth at home or Crystal Palace away?

If Palace are in the cup final the following week then them.

Bournemouth at home... but it is a needless comparison because we are 5 points ahead of Spurs so...

Southampton are 4 points off a champions league spot - dont tell me they have nothing to play for!

If Liverpool win their game in hand they will also be 4 points off a champions league spot.  Yes they messed up today, but that just means they have to beat spurs even more than they would of had they won.

if their form was replicated on the form they've been showing for the last 3 or 4 months then palace away all day long. they've lost 6 in a row at home, bournemouth (before today) had taken a result from 8 of their last 9 away (including against us).

palace are absolutely, undoubtedly awful. look at their form and their results. since boxing day (13/14 games ago) even aston villa have got more than double the amount of points as crystal palace. 4 points, all draws, in 13 games. just 9 goals. at home it's even worse. i can't understand what case people are trying to make? we also struggled twice vs bournemouth and we won twice vs palace? it is pretty obvious to me which game i'd prefer.

Strange that you would rather palace away.

You've been telling us all season how overated Bournemouth & Eddie Howe are.

yeah i know i want them to be shit but they aren't if you look at statistics and form etc. they play josh king up front and paid over ten mill for afobe. they should be shit. but as they keep proving (and proving people like me wrong) they aren't.

palace on the other hand should probably be half decent, and as they keep proving, they're fu cking shite.

i guess comparing the two is a smaller scale version of saying would you rather go to goodison or play us at the moment? everton have got better players and everton would be shorter odds etc but i would hazard a guess everyone in the league would rather play them than have to play us.

we were 5000/1 to win the league too so that ain't happening etc etc. bookies odds factor in us and spurs not just our opponents.

palace are the worst form team in the world for the past three months pretty sure. they've even got a worse home record this season than Aston villa. they are horrific. bournemouth have a very solid away record and are above palace in the league. pretty sure they're third in the calendar league table or something mad. they're a good deal better than palace.

Well the general consensus was Tottenham were more likely to beat Bournemouth than we were to beat Palace as reflected in the odds regardless of your view.

We've had a better weekend than Tottenham for sure.

Glad of the international break to be honest

Will enjoy cheering England without biting my nails & having heart palpitations

Opposite for me.

To many of our key players involved in pointless games they can get hurt in.

Not one game will benefit us yet every game has the chance of fvcking our season.

Who cares we are 5 points clear for the reason we have been the best team ...

This.

We have had a better weekend than Tottenham because the gap remains the same with one game less for them to make it up.

Exactly ... whoever wins the league will be the team that deserve it... we are top by 5 because we deserve to be simple as that. It could change but the fact remains we have been the best team over the 31 games and even played better teams than what Spurs have so far

This is the down side of playing first, it now feels like advantage Spurs because they didn't drop points and reduced the gap to 5 points, even though we didn't drop points and another round of games has gone so it is advantage us.

We were 5 points clear with 8 to go, now it is 5 points clear with 7 to go a step forwards to the title and we shouldn't get hung up on the fact it could have been a bigger step.

If you were Pelligrini, would you, on a personal level want to qualify for CL?

Not sure I would, unprofessional as it sounds.

If he's got a job lined up at another CL club he could eliminate a Guardiola team before the competition even starts. Smart man when his new club end up facing West Ham instead of a multi million pound Guardiola team.

Man City's drop in form isn't such a conspiracy it is purely their players are left in limbo, they are in position in which a lot of them won't or feel that they will be playing at man city next season...to announce Guardiola when they did was wrong and a huge mistake

But why did Pellegrini play injury prone Company in every minute of every game during a hectic period of fixtures until he broke down again?

Conspiracy? Or idiocy?

He realised all his other defenders were shit

I'd put him down as favourite with Man City's poor form and Cech's injury.

Looks even more likely now.

I agree with this -- ultimately, everyone plays everyone, so any "sequencing effects" would presumably balance out in the bigger picture.

At this point, it's about us. We are in the driver's seat with a decent cushion (compared to, say, the Liverpool situation where Man City actually won their game in hand and were thus only behind by 3), so if we manage on our end (as @@AKCJ consistently has said), it's ours.

Absolutely. It's all about us.

It shows the folly of trying to qick fix a team via the chequebook, rather than training up a youngster, or buying in someone who has the hunger but not played in the right team. We have done both very well in recent years. I hope that we can keep it up, and introduce new talent slowly. With more fixtures next year the temptation is for a spending spree rather than a slw build. Therin lies danger.
