zante Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 Why is it that we have to have a Thai flag outside our ground.....Its like they have planted it there stating we have been conquered. There is no stars and stripes outside Old Trafford or Anfield....No Russian flag outside Stamford Bridge or any other foreign flags flying at English football clubs that have become foreign owners new play things......So why us ?????? Yes I know that most City fans think the owners are fab and all that, but it just gripes the hell out of me that our stadium is named after a Thai Duty free business and that statement of a flag is outside..... 'The King Power' .... do me a favour ... 'Filbert Way' please and take that dam flag down.
Harry - LCFC Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 Think I'd prefer it if it weren't there too. It isn't appropriate to have a Thai flag outside the stadium because this isn't a Thai football club. Leicester City is an exclusively British cultural institution. Pretty minor issue though and I can't say it bothers me that much.

Simmsy Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 With the amount of money they have put in to our football club and how well the club has been run as of late you can allow them a flag! They're proud to be Thai and proud to own our football club.

Secondly maybe they are proving point to the players that have let us down
Carl the Llama Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 And to think he expects us to take a bloke named after the holiday destination of choice for angsty teens looking to spend a week getting drunk and laid seriously.
sylofox Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 As I do not get to the KP very often how long as it been up?
Filbert_Ross Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 As I do not get to the KP very often how long as it been up? I've never noticed it.
DB11 Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 Well I guess they could change what colour we play in if that would be better? We have good owners
the zorro Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 I think we should have one of these instead. Really brighten the place up.
MikeyT Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 Literally never even noticed it. But it matters not a jot to me if it's there.
lgfualol Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 I dont think a flag matters after what they've done for the club.
AKCJ Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 I've never noticed it but, judging from that picture, it's a bit ridiculous that we have the Thai national flag but not a St George's or a Union Jack.
whitlock Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 What a weapon. You go to Cardiff or Leeds fans and tell them how angry you are that our owners have a flag outside the ground, I'm sure they will sympathise!
Frank to be Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 Awful. Wish we had a proper English owner like Mike Ashley.
Tielemans63 Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 The Glazers asset strip the most profitable club in the world, the Oystons destroy Blackpool and openly insult the fans, Vincent Tan ignores 100 years of Cardiff City history to change the club colours on a whim, Alam wants to sell Hull because he isn't allowed to change the clubs name, Mike Ashley runs Newcastle like he hates the club and it's fans and you're complaining that our owners have put their national flag up outside the stadium? Think you need to get a ****ing grip lad.

'The King Power' .... do me a favour ... 'Filbert Way' please and take that dam flag down. I know this is a ridiculous post, but I'm actually going to be a pedant and use the examples you used against your own argument.Manchester United's chairmen may be Americans, but if they're going to put a flag at Old Trafford, the most appropriate one would be whatever the Cayman Islands use. As for Stamford Bridge, Chelsea Pitch Owners might have a thing or two to say about anything put up in, on, or around the ground. Perhaps there's a Thailand flag at the King Power Stadium because the stadium is owned by a Thai company run by Thais? I'll tell you one thing: there sure as hell aren't any English investors willing to pony up the money required to buy the ground, name it, and raise their own flags, let along run the entire club. Next time you see a Thai flag at King Power Stadium, don't think of it as a "conquest"--think of it as a reminder that the loans required to build this stadium almost killed the club, and that the debts owed on this stadium forced the club to abandon any ambition for almost a decade. Also, use it to remember that on March 1, 2013, the owners bought the stadium and killed those cursed stadium debts. Life at Leicester City seems a hell of a lot better since then.
