Suffolk exile Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 No thanks, time to get a younger player in. This - especially if they haven't let Upson go.
Babylon Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 No thanks. If we're bringing in more centre backs they need to be an improvement on all the ones we currently have. Would you say he's an improvement on Upson?
Babylon Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 Don't forget Whitbread, another blinding success from Nige's free transfer list. Sometimes you get a Berner, Powel, Dyer, Albrighton, Cambiasso.... Sometimes you get a Whitbread, Neilson, Bakayoko. That's the nature of free transfers, but the beauty is they cost you very little.
AyewJoking Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 How awesome would it be if Huth goes to WBA and we get McAuley?
Ric Flair Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 We've struggled defensively for large parts of Pearson's 2nd stint here which I've always found surprising given he's got a reputation of being a defensive manager. The arrival of Huth really helped us and I hope he signs permanently but even with Huth we need more quality defensively too.
teblin Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 If we are to continue with the 3 at the back. McCauley as back up to huth in the central role?
David Guiza Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 How awesome would it be if Huth goes to WBA and we get McAuley? Wouldn't be hugely surprised. It doesn't get more Pulis that Robert Huth! You'd hope he'd choose us over WBA, if interested, but there's not a huge difference between us both.
bald reynard Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 How awesome would it be if Huth goes to WBA and we get McAuley? Did Pulis sign Huth for Stoke ? If so, yes, you can bet that he'd want him for the Albion, if the price is right - and Huth could well prefer them to us. I'd rather Huth than McAuley, but you can only get what you can get !
J.Lisemore Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 Don't rate him at all. And he's 35, we can do better than this.
DB11 Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 Wasn't he at fault for Vardy's winner when we played them?
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 Wasn't he at fault for Vardy's winner when we played them? Thought Vard's was 1vs1 against Lescott?
steveherbe Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 Thought Vard's was 1vs1 against Lescott? Vardy robbed McCauley on the halfway line before showing lescott up to be a total donkey
Guest Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 Maybe Pearson is making a point now so that Pulis doesn't try to steal Huth from us. Probably doesn't even want him.
Sir Shep Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 Not good enough for WBA then surely not good enough for us!
weller54 Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 Don't rate him at all. And he's 35, we can do better than this. Same age as Upson ???
Stadt Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 2 or 3 years ago he'd be ok but not now, but you're probably not going to get a defender in their prime that's happy to be a back up.
J.Lisemore Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 Same age as Upson ??? He is yeah, and Upson looked average at best, albeit he was never 100% fit.
Dan Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 West Brom fan at work reckons he's the player they need to hang onto the most.
