N'golo Kante - Medical passed according to Radio Leicester

Recommended Posts

Can't say I've seen him play, or even heard of him (which is concerning given my FM obsession) but I do like unearthing gems like this. If the likes of Marseille are interested you'd think that he's got something about him and our track record from France is very sound.

Also Arsenal showing an interest.

I don't mind signing midfielders that Arsenal are considering and don't quite get over the final cut.

Caen supremo reveals Foxes interest LEICESTER, LATEST NEWS UPDATE: 26 MINUTES AGO Leicester have been revealed as one club showing "great interest" in signing midfielder N'Golo Kante from French Ligue 1 side SM Caen. The £8million-rated 24-year-old France born star, who is of Malian descent, has been watched by Foxes scouts for some time while it is being suggested that Marseille are also keeping tabs on him. However when quizzed about the possibility of Kante departing Caen this summer, the club's president, Jean-Francois Fortin, confirmed that Leicester are currently at the front of the queue for his signature having shown "great interest", despite no bid being made so far. It is thought Foxes chief Nigel Pearson is keen to bolster his midfield options as veteran Esteban Cambiasso has yet to agree to a new deal at the King Power Stadium ahead of his contract expiring at the end of this month. Matty James is also sidelined with a long-term cruciate knee ligament injury which is set to keep him out for a large chunk of the 2015-16 campaign. - See more at: https://www.clubcall.com/leicester-city/caen-supremo-reveals-foxes-interest-1772671.html?#sthash.LbGY4zeW.dpuf

As a French guy, and therefore seeing him play on a regular basis, I can assure it's a great player.

He would have certainly been awarded young player of the year in L1 if Nabil Fekir wasn't even better, but most of the Top5 clubs in L1 are linked to a move, but just can't afford him (no offers higher than 3 or 4M£). It makes French fans sad not to be able to keep in France very good players like him no more than 1 or 2 years before they move to England.

It would be nice if could get the Fekir to play with that Kante.  :)

Surely we're in for Fekir.

Really unlikely. He said himself he doesn't want to move, and the president of Lyon won't let him go for anything less than 40M£. Lyon is kind of a specific club in France. Most of their players come from their academy, and a large part of them are fans of the club since their childhood before being players. Being qualified for the CL for the first time in 3 years, and with a brand new stadium delivered in January, they all want to stay to play the CL in it and be the first one to score, to make history.

And indeed, the Euro mess things up, as they don't want to jeopardize their chances to make it to the squad by moving and not playing.

Must be top notch to be quoted that much.

Definitely out of our league and would have bigger fish to fry than ourselves unfortunately.

The ACON will have serious implications for us if more Africans are signed. We are already likely to lose Young Jeff and Mahrez and added to Kante and Sako missing for up to six weeks will leave a big hole in the squad.

Good job he's French then.

Plus there isn't a tournament in 2016.
