Finn Claw II Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 Possibly this. When he was Chelsea manager he was very in amongst 'the lads' Not this - he speaks fluent German, I think he speaks 5 langauges actually. English, Italian, German and a couple of others.
JPM1983 Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 I saw on another thread that the potential new manager is being interviewed today. Is that from a reliable source?
ramboacdc Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 I saw on another thread that the potential new manager is being interviewed today. Is that from a reliable source? its from albert. Who's word is gospel around here.
ealingfox Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 Language barrier? He was born and raised in Switzerland and is from Schaffhausen which is near the Swiss/German border. I'd wager that he knows a fair bit of German.

Fox Ulike Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 Fair point, if its not a language barrier, that does seem a bit bizarre not talking to players?! I'm sure it wasn't the whole squad. You never know with these things, one or two players might have been dropped and got uppity with him... Matt Mills accused Pearson of the same thing.
Ric Flair Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 O'Neill went 1/4 the last time we needed a new manager and by all accounts wasn't even interested or approached. I'm not saying there isn't anything in it but i've an inkling it's Di Matteo whose in the hot seat.

cc_star Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 I see he's at 10/1 in some places so it's worth asking, would people be adverse to Gary Neville? IIt's a hypothetical shout and likely won't happen but he's got the pedigree, got the badges, has worked closely with Roy Hodgson for England over the past few years and would undoubtedly hold the respect of the squad. Plus young, big name, media savvy. Surely on the face of it fits the bill for our owners? Would love him He's a winner, winners win. No it doesn't always transfer to being a manager &many of the best managers had mediocre playing careers, but he's not just a dumb runner, or talented goal scorer He's a winner, he doesn't suffer fools, he knows his stuff, like Pearson he knows the importance of 'team' not just talent! he doesn't accept poor perfomance even from himself, he knows the modern game Would love it if we appointed Gary Neville, absolutely love it!
zak_lcfc Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 The first time odds have been so low, maybe there is something in it this time!

Ah, channelling your inner Kev Keegan. I too would love it if we got Gary Nev in, shame it's unlikely to happen.
ramboacdc Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 The first time odds have been so low, maybe there is something in it this time! i was thinking this. i grabbed the 8/1 on betway and its now 5/4. 1/4 in hills
Grey Fox Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 MON and the current backroom staff/set up I think could work really well.
dylanlegend Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 Ah, channelling your inner Kev Keegan. I too would love it if we got Gary Nev in, shame it's unlikely to happen. WTF? Gary Neville? You taking the piss
Haydos Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 WTF? Gary Neville? You taking the piss I'd get behind Gary Neville, seems very astute and is a clear student of the game. Think he'll want to carry on learning behind some experienced names though.
ramboacdc Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 Betting closed on William Hill. someones done them in!
TMELcfc Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 Martin O'Neill again doesn't add up, from what Rudkin and the owners have said. I'm not believing any bookmakers odds anymore either. Still think we will move Laudrup...
lgfualol Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 Of players that have never managed, I'd be quite confident of Gary Neville.
RonnieTodger Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 This is bizarre. 10 days on and no one has any idea at all. The bookies keep switching the favourite (making a shitload no doubt).
ramboacdc Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 This is bizarre. 10 days on and no one has any idea at all. The bookies keep switching the favourite (making a shitload no doubt). £26k of matched bets on betfair.
Xen Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 MON and the current backroom staff/set up I think could work really well. This. Walsh and Shakespeare staying is the key thing for me, so as long as the new manager doesn't upset the apple cart and is happy to work with them I don't think who the new guy is is all that important, so long as they're competent. MON fits the bill for me.
Ric Flair Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 You could have made a fair few quid on backing and laying these horror shows
ktfox59 Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 If it is mon being interviewed then surely it is a done deal. Both parties are not stupid. For him to be there says its an i's and t's situation. Therefore grab any odds against going imho.
