Esteban's not coming back

Recommended Posts

"Someone we could relate to" were Leicester City we make names pal we don't usually sign them .. Now we all relate to 34 yr old Argentinian has beens,,,I can't speak for everyone else on here but I relate better to a player that's come through our ranks or someone whose spent a few seasons with us.. Fans player of the year about says it all really !!!!

Why does harmonious fan appreciation of one player suggest they don’t understand football? Cambiasso is one of the most established players to join Leicester, certainly in my time watching them. People didnt get carried away with them name, or even believe that he can walk on water, instead it was his passion, skill, desire to win and work ethic that won over a lot of the fans. He was a player than nearly everyone at the club could relate to. Whether it was a kids first season watching Leicester seeing him be such an integral part of the run in, someone who has grown up with Cambiasso being at the height of modern football or someone who has been watching the game for years and years, such as my Dad, who was an admirer of his work ethic and professionalism in the modern game. It was all of this and more which accumulated to our fans show of appreciation on the final day.

Football players come and go, and despite my biased appreciation towards what I saw from Cambiasso last season even I thought a few weeks ago 'Maybe its best he leaves on a high'. I’ve lost count of the times I’ve disagreed with Leicester fans over numerous issues, the times I’ve read this forum and sighed at some of the comments. I didn’t find that with the subject of Cambiasso, bar some exceptions.

I can't defend all fans and certainly some of the reactions I have seen to the news are quite alarming, but believe me most, if not all, of our fans didn’t get carried away by the name but by a player who took the club, the fans and our purpose to his heart, its only right we took him to ours.

Why are the (some of) the same people who were telling us Cambiasso is waiting to see on who the new manager is before deciding now telling us it is nothing to do with Ranieri? You know who you are.

Damn! Run out of +1's. So, 'this' or +1.

Quite the talent for us last season no doubt about it. Realistically esteban is not a long term solution for us so i think its a blessing in disguise. He may even (financially) be doing us a favour so that we can spend the money wisely on a yet to be signed replacement.

If thats his logic and we sign a stud of a replacement then esteban wil be one of the greastest single season signings ever.

Time to move on.

Bob Weasel lol lol

I've never saw him contribute anything to a conversation apart from "I agree, good post buddy"

ive always wondered if he is col or is at least a very close relative of col. this basically confirms my suspicions.

Try working your way through this:

http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/101582-lcfc-manager-top-ten-rankings/

Some people are very idiot.

1 - MoN - 2 cups, 1 promotion, 1 final, consistent top level finishes on a smallish budget.

2 - gillies - 1 cup, 2 fa cup finals and 10 years of top flight finishes.

3 - bloomfield- charity shield, and 6 seasons of top flight top quality football.

4 - o farrell - div 1 title, fa cup runner up. but also  has a relegation to his name.

I'm sure I would be able to remember if O'Farrell had won the Division One title and I can't so that item is false and pushes him out of my top four.

Whilst Bloomfield managed 6 years in the top flight and Gillies managed 10 we shall never know what NP could have achieved because we have fooked him off.

Two title winning season promotions trumps any cup win for me and most long term supporters would agree with that I would hope.

Sufficient evidence that Pearson for me is certainly up there and that for me proves that JJJS is not an idiot

I thought he was one of our best free-kick takers.

The other options for this are often woeful, especially when taking corners - hope Mr. Ranieri sorts this problem out.

Isn't Fuchs supposed to be a free kick/corner specialist? And Albrighton did fine with corners as well.

He signed a season-long contract, played his heart out every game, gave us some of the most iconic moments in the history of the club, and led us through the greatest escape in recent top-flight history.

So the guy could captain Forest to the FA Cup final and I'd still love him.

I can't help but think it's because of Ranieri that he's opted against the contract?

I can't help feeling that if he'd wanted to stay he have signed in June.

Maybe Ranieri told him to stop fvcking us about and decide 1 way or another?

every time he played for us was pretty iconic considering he's one of the most decorated footballers of all time and we're basically a nothing club from the east midlands

Sad to see him go and sad that this season I won't have that feeling of idolisation/excitement to see him wear the shirt that I've not felt since being a kid.

However, he's gone and we need replacements in midfield that's for sure. I'm not sure that they want to come here, but if we're throwing 12M+ at Austin (I'm happy with the strikers we already have), and considering other offers made, that's nearly 20M in the budget to get both Kante and Mendy. That would be some central midlfield; full of youth, energy and pace.

We do need to move on chaps.

  • Last ball kicked in anger - 25th May
  • Pearson given the bullet - 30th June
  • Cambiasso finally lets us know - 21st July
  • Season starts 8th August

Whilst i loved the little bold man to bits, he had plenty of time esp whilst Pearson was here to decide or let us know,. A bit naughty to use facebook IMO and even naughtier to announce it just before the first practice game.

He knew he was going, you don't just up sticks with your family without a place and a job to go to.

It's cambiasso not beckham.. When he signed I bet half the fans had never heard of him... Beckham is an icon not cambiasso..

And what's all this nothing club business :)
