jimmeh Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 My guess is nugent will go out on loan. Probably to forest or someone.
Tuna Posted 25 July 2015 Author Posted 25 July 2015 Reported in the mail as well! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3174631/Leicester-City-join-race-sign-Liverpool-misfit-Rickie-Lambert-striker-talks-West-Brom.html
Stevosevic Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 I'd take him, if we needed strikers, but we don't.
Gerard Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 Just been out for a meal with the wife and a couple of bottles of wine, come home hoping to read about a new player link and It's Ricky fucking Lambert. Says it all.
Salieri Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 Oh Joy! Another Striker!! That is exactly what we need, a position Paper talk? The amount of people who react to every link like this is astounding.
Salieri Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 And that's not just aimed at Matt, it's at all of you ****ers. Grow up for ****s sake, papers(and the internet) know shit.
MPH Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 To be honest, u can see the logic in this. In so much as you need more than 1 target man in your squad...
benpicko Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 My guess is nugent will go out on loan. Probably to forest or someone. Personally, my guess is that it's absolute bollocks
kyleolly Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 Lambert to come in and ulloa is being converted into a defensive midfielder
Sly Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 Again, this will be a no. Potentially better than what we have. Good player, wasted at Liverpool. Age isn't on his side. Just doesn't fit the profile of what is currently required positional wise.
mozartfox Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 Nein danke - I would rather re-mobilize Derek Dougan or Andy Lockhead - cheaper and better options (probably more mobile). Next .......
ALC Fox Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 To be honest if Lambert arrived I don't think it would push Nugent out the door. Currently I don't think any of our strikers are capable of scoring the kinds of goals that Nugent is. I'm talking the kind goal we saw away at Liverpool. The only one that comes close is probably Kramaric. I'd be ok with Lambert. We'd then have 6 strikers. Back when we were promoted we had Nugent, Vardy, Wood, Phillips and GTF. All 5 were capable strikers at that level. Having a bit more competition now would put the pressure on some of the others, and if one or two ended up going in January or next summer because of a lack of playing time, it wouldn't be a bad thing as long as we survive and kick on this season.

For every Liverpool goal Nuge will miss 5 or 6 tap ins.
Vlad the Fox Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 Not happening. This stems from an approach made during our managerial search, we contacted the wrong lambert.
sphericalfox Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 Unless we are desperate for an english homegrown, this is pointless tactically. We have players more than equally capable... And younger to boot
Kitchandro Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 I'd be ok with Lambert. We'd then have 6 strikers. Back when we were promoted we had Nugent, Vardy, Wood, Phillips and GTF. We need quality, not quantity. We had enough strikers to 'put pressure' on each other last season, the problem was none of the fvckers could score for most of it. Even Ulloa had a 3 month period where he didn't score a league goal. If we're in need of a striker it's because we're lacking a proven goalscorer and Lambert is not that.
Jimothy Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 @RobTannerMerc: #lcfc interest in Lambert historic. They asked to be kept informed of his situation in January.
jimmeh Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 Personally, my guess is that it's absolute bollocks Why? He has one year left on his contract. If he isn't getting much game time here, then it's in his best interests to get a loan to a championship club. To suit potential clubs for a new deal
jock2612 Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 I hope this just talk MIDFIELD. MIDFIELD , MIDFIELD ............................................!!!!!!.
jimmeh Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 I think his legs have gone unfortunately. I would say no to this
