I was referring to nigel's loss of prospective due to the pressure... This guy is a big mobile unit...could be a very good fit for the premier..

 perspective?

There was nothing wrong with the question or the way he said it. Pearson overreacted for whatever reason, hence the apology.

Totally agree. Majority of press were more complimentary about us than other team in the bottom 6 or so. I don't get what NP was on about - we were not unfairly criticized at all.

I know this is not the place to bring this up, but the reporter didn't ask a stupid question, he asked a valid question, but Pearson, who was in a weird mood anyway, took him to task for doing no more than question him.

I will put the question that Ian Baker asked Pearson to you:

What criticism? What unfair and unjust criticism had been levelled at the players from the press? Most papers and reports I read mirrored what most fans said, we generally played well and were unlucky to not get anything from a lot of games. Some games we were described as toothless, mostly when playing the diamond formation, and that criticism was mainly at the manager. Our players were not heavily criticised, when compare how some teams get ripped to shreds on MOTD, Newcastle for example, Sunderland after the 8-0.

It was a genuine question and a ridiculous and bizarre overreaction from Pearson. The fact he even apologised for it proves that even he thinks you are wrong.

No it wasn't at all. He said, and I quote; "do you think your season is waining away?" That is an offensive thing to say, we were by no means miles away from safety and playing well. To state that our season was waining away was unreasonable. Pearson just told him that.

What the hell happened to this thread?! Why on Earth are we talking about something that was done and dusted months ago. Pearson overreacted, realised he did, then apologised. Baker accepted the apology and as I'm concerned the matter has been dealt with.

You people must be really bored!! Haha

You are as easily offended as NFP then.

Can't see anything offensive about the question, the reaction could perhaps be described as 'offensive' hence the apology.

That was the previous incident where he called the reporter a **** wasn't it?

Rob Tanner as the Merc shed some more light on that one with his column, where he said the reporter had done that on purpose as the day before there had been a mockup of Pearson in the paper with his head on the moon (or something like that), as he'd made a comment about waxing and waining. So I'd agree... the reporter was a **** as he knew what he was doing.

The time of the Ostrich thing though Ian Baker didn't ask anything that needed that reaction.

He didn't state the season was waining away. He asked if Pearson thought it was. Big difference.

So is Inler but I do agree that it is most probably Benalouane.

Inler won't be signing till later this week at least I'd imagine, so definitely Benny.

I'm sorry, English is not my mother tongue, but as long as one can understand my point ;)

It's reasonable to assume that's true of half the posters on here..
