Inappropriate funeral songs

Recommended Posts

The following will be played at my funeral:

Aaron Carter : Crazy little party girl (for sheer inappropriateness and naffness)

Followed by

Kasabian : Fire (as the coffin is going through the cremator)

Queen Who wants to Live forever

Meatloaf  Heaven can Wait

Monty Python Always  Look On The Bright Side of Life

Meetloaf Paradise  by the Dashboard light.

But in reality I want Imagine I am sure there are more.

Many years ago a friend had a trad jazz band come in with the coffin playing When The Saints go Marching in.

I do not want hyms or prayers at mine. I do not want to go out being hypocritical although I would not know it.

you should use " money money money" by Abba!!!

When we were organising my mother's funeral they asked us what music we 'd like just as my sister's phone rang. Her ringtone was All About The Bass by Megan Trainor.

Anyway, the song  she'd asked for was this.

Stairway  To Hea ven which is i nappropriate for an  atheist. Other than the others I mentioned, no hymns and  any anti-thesist  or religion  that the clergy conducting the service is unaware is anti-gods.

I just want fun tunes. I want the congregation to think WTF is this inapproprite music.

Yes that was written for one of their original band members who died. Not as inappropriate as it seems because it will be what people are thinking.

Not true, Rince.

Syd Barrett died of pancriatic cancer in 2006: Wish You Were Here (the album) was released in 1975.

The title track was indeed written with Syd in mind, as he had been forced to leave the band in1968 due to deteriorating mental health (allegedly through the copious use of LSD).

The two-part track, 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' was written as a tribute to him.
