ALC Fox Posted 17 September 2015 Posted 17 September 2015 He had a good season or so with us and has probably played some part of recent successes. But, he's hardly a club legend so I can't say I'm overly distraught about this. Going to Derby is a bit of a kick to the knackers to us fans but he's a professional so I guess it doesn't matter to him where he goes. The important thing for him is it's a step up in terms of his own importance to a football club and he'll use it to eventually fulfil his goal of becoming manager somewhere. Good luck to him, but if we ever cross paths while he's still with Derby I hope we stuff 'em.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 17 September 2015 Posted 17 September 2015 Can't help but wish him all the best, seems a decent bloke and was part of a season we dicked a league in a manner our local rivals can't dream of. Shame he's gone to coach at a poverty level of football but you'd think he'll do well there.
Kitchandro Posted 17 September 2015 Posted 17 September 2015 I like the bloke but I'll only be wishing him luck in the sense that Derby do so shit that their manager is sacked and Kev takes over from him. Then hopefully he'll do even worse.
Spudulike Posted 17 September 2015 Posted 17 September 2015 Assistant coach or Assistant to the coach
Jaspa Posted 17 September 2015 Posted 17 September 2015 Assistant coach or Assistant to the coach Their manager is a 'Head Coach' and Kev looks Assistant to that We got two little gems off him in that Bournemouth winner and the feint for Nuge at Leeds, behind the scenes we dont know how much he has helped in the further development of Vardy ect. but seems to have been a good influence.
Dickov22 Posted 17 September 2015 Posted 17 September 2015 This is what i dont get. I really dont get. Why will Shakey and Walsh "Inevitably" leave when Pearson gets a new job? Phillips has lef this role here for a BETTER role for his long term prospects, an assistant coach role will give him more power and may open the door to a management opportunity. This is understandable. Shakey and Walsh will just be doing the same jobs as they are now, but likely be part of a failing club, worse facilities, worse group to work with, worse infastructure, worse league position and fan backing, worse owner backing, probably at a lower level and getting paid less. Would you "inevitably" leave for that? Because they're Nigel's men. They've built something special here which Ranieri has inherited. They'll want to do it again with Nigel. Ranieri has his own staff here anyway

Theres a good atmosphere around the place, business is going well and your co-workers are vibrant and are achievers. The business is growing and the facilities there are very modern. Youre mate gets sacked, and finds himself a new job. His new job aint as good. The staff there arent up to much, there seems to be confusion in the place which is the reason there were vacancies. Business is struggling compared to your office and the pay isnt as good. The technology there is old and needs updating and its pretty dank. Your mate gives you a call and says theres a vacancy, do you want to come and apply, what with being a mate and all that. You gonna give up your job to join him?

fazzyfox Posted 17 September 2015 Posted 17 September 2015 Coaching Derby, ha ha good luck with that. Session one "Ball....Goal......Goal....Ball.....Kick the ball between the posts.....(and stop eating the grass)!"
Corky Posted 17 September 2015 Posted 17 September 2015 As time has passed there's more likelihood of them staying. I'm sure Pearson has other colleagues to call upon if required. He might take someone like Dickov or even Berner with him to his next club. I've seen nothing to suggest Shakey and Walsh are unhappy and just counting down the days, Shakespeare in particular still has a visible role on the touchline.
JPM1983 Posted 17 September 2015 Posted 17 September 2015 Assistant coach or Assistant to the coach Brilliant.
Fox seen in Norwich Posted 17 September 2015 Posted 17 September 2015 Good luck to him. Sad to see him go. He's been influential in our progression. Step up in role for him, I also suspect Derby are strong promotion contenders this year. Paul Clement should be a great manager to assist. Paul was a strong coach at a very high level at Real. This could also be good for our strikers. Having had some time with Phillips they'll now have time with a new coach that should bring in something new.
johnny the fox Posted 17 September 2015 Posted 17 September 2015 I would like to put on record my thanks to a great player and a great man of football... May the records now show that you did indeed put it on record. Kev will be pleased that Jonny the fox put on record his thanks. It has now been recorded....
Captain... Posted 17 September 2015 Posted 17 September 2015 Fair play a good chance for him to work on his managerial credentials. Will be remembered but fondly but he wasn't really instrumental in our success on the pitch. Appears to have been a good influence off the pitch but again he isn't irreplaceable. Good luck at Derby Kev, maybe whith you there they will get promoted and may even get more than 11 points this time.

HitchinFox Posted 17 September 2015 Posted 17 September 2015 Quote Perhaps best known for his goal scoring exploits with Sunderland, where he scored 30 goals in his debut Premier League season to earn him the European Golden Shoe,". Still can't believe it's called that now. What was wrong with the Golden Boot? Much more manly and sporty.Golden Shoe makes it sound like something given out at the end of London Fashion Week.

LCCFox96 Posted 17 September 2015 Posted 17 September 2015 Thanks for everything Kev, absolute model pro. Wish him the best of luck.
Larry_LCFC Posted 17 September 2015 Posted 17 September 2015 Maybe it's like a loan deal. He'll go to Derby for a few years and come back after CR leaves and win us the title. Right guys?....Guys?
