Saints away next!.. Early thoughts..

The thought of our full back options against Mane and Tadic is keeping me up at night.

They haven't really changed from the last time we played them though other than Fuchs who is an improvement defensively

This time tomorrow we will know  if we are true  top half contenders, a  defeat is by no means the end of the world, but a result here will just cement our credentials  as one of the best teams outside the top 6/7.

Exciting times.

Mane has been playing just off Pelle, master class from Kante tomorrow.

Southampton away is synonymous with listless 2-0 defeats (barring that excellent win three years ago). A repeat of that match would be just grand.

I would expect lots of goals from both ends especially if we keep making errors, pretty sure he will keep it tight with the same back four and look to spring them on the counter.

I can see them coming out an attacking from the off so this should suit us and give us the space in behind, would go with Ulloa instead of Shinji has to start imo.

stat time

Both meetings between these sides last season ended 2-0 to the home team with a player scoring a brace (Long, Mahrez).

Jamie Vardy has scored eight goals in his last nine Premier League appearances, including in each of his last five matches in the competition.

Only three English players have scored in six consecutive PL appearances this century: Michael Owen (6 in 2003), James Beattie (6 in 2003) and Daniel Sturridge (8 in 2014).

The Foxes have won more points from losing positions than any other top-flight side this season (6).

Saints have only lost one of their last 18 top-flight home games against Leicester (W10 D7).

Leicester are unbeaten in seven Premier League away games; only once in their top-flight history have they gone eight without defeat on the road (nine in 1973).

Leicester have scored and conceded in all eight of their league games this season.

Graziano Pelle has missed the target from inside the box twice as many times as any other Premier League player this season (18, Gestede 9).

Maarten Stekelenburg has made only 10 saves in eight games this term, that's four fewer than David de Gea has made in half as many matches (14 in four).

Sadio Mane has two goals and four assists in his last five league appearances.

Like many on here I'd be delighted with a draw. No reason not to be positive but got a nasty gut feeling we might lose this. No drama and no need to panic if we do though, I think many teams will get turned over at St Mary's this season.

Mahrez and Schlupp doubts for tomorrow? They both didn't train yesterday surely that is due to International Duty?

They've just been given a little bit of time to 'recover' from international duty, imagine they'll both be involved.

Feeling a narrow defeat.

But, tbh, anything's better than our defeat there last season. As we have now proved we were a group of (mainly) good footballers and we played like league 2 cloggers who'd got a glamour tie in the cup. Losing 2-0 isn't a disgrace, putting 11 men behind the ball and playing for a 0-0 from the off is.

I'd like to think we're past that now, we're certainly in better heart than we were then, so bring it on. Win, lose or draw, it's just nice to see some good, positive football home and away.

After another monotonous and seemingly never-ending international break - only significant from a Leicester point of view for Jamie Vardy's well-earned third and fourth England caps - it's back to proper football tomorrow as the high-flying Foxes take on a Southampton side just clicking into form.

My preview on tomorrow's game, with a look at the role of Okazaki in Vardy's good form. COYF  :scarf:

That game last year was horrendous.

Bloody rained as well.
