davieG Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 Claudio Ranieri has praised the delivery of Marc Albrighton after the winger’s two assists helped Leicester City to a Barclays Premier League victory over West Bromwich Albion on Saturday. Albrighton twice set up Riyad Mahrez for goals in the 3-2 victory to take his assist tally to five for the season and again underline his importance to the team. The former Aston Villa man has been involved in every Premier League game for the Foxes since their season-defining win over West Ham United back in April, and continues to take his performances to new heights. As well as the quality of the delivery, it was the speed with which the Foxes were able to switch the play for the goals that pleased Ranieri – something that’s clearly worked hard on during training. “I love when there is this switch from one side to the other side,” Ranieri told Foxes Player HD. “It was good and we tried to do this in the first half but it wasn’t possible but in the second half it was better. “Marc [Albrighton] is a very good player. He is fast, strong, has a good attitude and is a hard worker – he’s fantastic. “It was a very good match and I think we didn’t deserve to lose the first half. We created two or three great chances to score and at the first set play for them, they scored a goal. We were very calm and in the second half we continued to build and play our football. “We didn’t need to change anything because we were playing very well. Also I knew that some players played in the week in the cup so I had to choose very well the time to use substitutions.” It was man-of-the-moment Jamie Vardy that scored City’s third goal of the afternoon on Saturday. That goal took his tally to 11 in 11 games this season as well as marking the eighth straight league game he has scored in. Only Daniel Sturridge and Ruud Van Nistelrooy have achieved the same feat, with Vardy now just two games away from the latter’s all-time Premier League record of 10 consecutive scoring games. Ranieri said: “It’s not bad! For me it’s important that he continues to fight. The goals can come or they can stop, but for me it’s the team that’s important. I’m very happy for him and the record and I hope he can continue.” Read more at http://www.lcfc.com/news/article/ranieri-delighted-with-albrighton-form-2783131.aspx#FGXMfdVpMmPEbUiD.99
merlin1969 Posted 5 November 2015 Posted 5 November 2015 Hodgson to risk wrath of Man Utd, City, Chelsea and Arsenal bosses with England plans Despite that Hodgson is understood to be considering calling up Leicester's Marc Albrighton, Wilfried Zaha of Crystal Palace and West Brom's Saido Berahino, with Arsenal pair Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge all injured. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/473913/England-Roy-Hodgson-friendlies-France-Spain
Dickov22 Posted 5 November 2015 Posted 5 November 2015 After what happened to his family in the summer it's testament to him as a person how well he's been playing. Good on him
kingcarr21 Posted 5 November 2015 Posted 5 November 2015 Would love to see Albrighton given a chance. Has played really well this season. Aston Villa must be gutted letting him go considering its Gestede who leads the line for them. Albrighton would work wonders for Gestede. Oh well there loss is our gain.
Staffs Fox Posted 5 November 2015 Posted 5 November 2015 It's amazing Villa let him go anyway, They had Benteke before Gestede and I've heard he's pretty decent in the air!
J.Lisemore Posted 5 November 2015 Posted 5 November 2015 Baffled as to why Villa would have even have thought about letting him go. Has always been a very capable crosser of a ball and has a fair few assists. Free Transfer.
deep blue Posted 3 December 2015 Posted 3 December 2015 Ya Ya Ya,....but what did the Romans do for us. Gave us Ranieri?
Nick Posted 3 December 2015 Posted 3 December 2015 Albrighton seems like a really pleasant guy. He's genuinely a great fella.
Len Finsbury Posted 3 December 2015 Posted 3 December 2015 It seems like he's been everywhere this week. Interviews here and there, he must feel like he deserves a week off. How Villa let him walk is beyond me, and probably why they're heading in the direction that they are!
Tuna Posted 3 December 2015 Posted 3 December 2015 Seemed like he was treated quite shabbily by Villa but then again, Lambert was manager at the time.
VLC86 Posted 3 December 2015 Posted 3 December 2015 You could say he was treated badly by Villa but remember he went out on loan to Wigan in the championship and didn't do particularly well either. Rather than slate another team it's probably worth praising our coaches/Albrightons himself for changing his mentality and giving him much needed confidence.

VLC86 Posted 3 December 2015 Posted 3 December 2015 no, this is foxestalk, we're here to complain about stuff Fair point, **** Villa and **** Lambert etc etc.
Dan Posted 3 December 2015 Posted 3 December 2015 Villa must be absolutely kicking themselves. What a criminal waste from them. Great work from Leicester. The fact our left side of him and Fuchs (and Schlupp as well actually) were all free is hilarious.

Absolutely, the work our coaches are doing is fantastic but there needs to be an element of quality there in the first place. I doubt, for instance, that they could turn me into a pro footballer! Villa must be absolutely kicking themselves. What a criminal waste from them. Great work from Leicester. The fact our left side of him and Fuchs (and Schlupp as well actually) were all free is hilarious. I hadn't realised that until you mentioned. Phenomenal!
Wymsey Posted 3 December 2015 Posted 3 December 2015 He seems to be one of those players that does great for the team, but isn't widely appreciated/thought of. Intelligent player to have.
Gerard Posted 3 December 2015 Posted 3 December 2015 I love his answer when asked if Leicester can win the league? I expected the party line about 40pts and safety, blah blah blah but he said why not, we're top of the league. It's great to see our players don't feel out of place in our position.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 3 December 2015 Posted 3 December 2015 he's not a fan of Nigel Pearson that's for sure!!
Foxymcoxy Posted 3 December 2015 Posted 3 December 2015 he's not a fan of Nigel Pearson that's for sure!! I wouldn't say you can say that. He is just enjoying a better standing in the squad now so of course he will be happy about it.
