RizLCFC Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 Vardy and Mahrez. When do we start planning? Would Austin and Carillo be good replacements? Will they even leave? I seriously hope they don't, especially Vardy at his age. Sorry to mention it, but it's just something I'm worried about now.
Fox92 Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 We wouldn't be able to replace Vardy. I cannot think of, thinking realistically here, another striker with his work rate and willingness to help out the team but still score goals that would come here. He's the most hardworking player I've ever seen at the football club.

Unless Lewandowski and Ronaldo would come
foxfanazer Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 We just can't enjoy the here and now us Leicester fans can we? In all honesty Vardy is irreplaceable, Mahrez isn't but would be expensive to do so
lgfualol Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 We wouldn't be able to replace Vardy. Josh King. George Boyd as our Mahrez replacement.

J.Lisemore Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 Can't see Vardy leaving at all, we're progressing as a club as much as him as a player. Mahrez is a different story, he'll should be a Champions League player one day.
weller54 Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 Vardy and Mahrez to stay.. Continue to improve the team. Ready for the champions league onslaught!
dmayne7 Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 Whilst I've just been going overboard about Riyad on his thread, we could replace him. Thing is, it would probably cost £30m+ or take some big luck to get a player like him. Vardy, however, no way. There may be better strikers but there are none similar to him at this level.

st albans fox Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 The only similar player to vardy out there re work rate and ability to score is Suarez. Whether JV can continue to score regularly remains to be seen. His workrate will stay however. of course, Suarez is way ahead technically but he doesn't have vardy's pace. The point here is that finding a player with that workrate and frightening pace able to score regularly .............. Any ideas?
Bayfox Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 I can't see vardy going, 1st choice here, progressive club, age goes against him, owners don't need money. Plus as things stand to day, everywhere is a step down....................... Apart from Barca and Bayern, which is a sideways step.
ScouseFox Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 I'm not one to be dramatic but if we "replaced" vardy with austin I will kill myself
foxes_rule1978 Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 I'm not one to be dramatic but if we "replaced" vardy with austin I will kill myself I would join you
Edingleyfox Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 Vardy is unique this season with his pace and finishing and Mahrez has added fitness to his skill that makes him almost as valuable than Jamie .Even at 28 going on 29 Vardy is priceless but he is ideally suited to Leicester because of our counter attacking style of play.He seems pretty grounded to me.Think we need to take each game as it comes and not spoil the moment with thinking about what might happen next summer. In any case would be very surprised if anything happens this season and Ranieri should not even be hinting that our stars may be available as he seems to do at times. I'm sure the owners realise how valuable this duo are from a playing and marketing point of view and will dig very deep so money certainly should opt be a factor.
Bettsj2 Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 If Mahrez was to go, Mirralas from Everton would be a decent replacement. Vardy cannot be replaced. Its one of those situations as with Bale at Spurs. It doesnt really matter how much money you get because their contribution to the team you cant put a value on. We'd have the money to buy many quality players, but he's unique.
shen Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 I am excited about what our form and possible sales of Vardy and Mahrez will get out of our supposedly top class recruitment staff. They've unearthed Knockaert, Mahrez, Kanté, Vardy, Drinkwater and Albrighton, yet also persuaded Fuchs, Cambiasso (and Yakubu?) to join from more illustrious clubs. With the season we're having and Ranieri at the helm, surely we can find players from the shelf just above these talents? It's a mouthwatering prospect!
Richard Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 I think Vardy realised from his time in the England set up that a big club won't make him a regular and play to his strengths like we do. There's no way he'd have scored in 10 consecutive games at anywhere else but Leicester
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 Matt Ritchie for Mahrez. For Vardy, don't really know, but we could give Chris Martin a go (different player of course) + play Kram or Okazaki off him
Vindaloo FOX Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 if Mahrez goes we should get Sofiane Boufal he is pretty much Mahrez MRK 2 .
