Spudulike Posted 11 December 2015 Posted 11 December 2015 But which residents will be upset ?? The nearest ones are Burn moor Street or Aylestone Rooad , aren't they ?? The parking won't be any worse as it's already saturated on match days. People will just park further away and walk.
Webbo Posted 11 December 2015 Posted 11 December 2015 If I remember correctly the foundations were put in place to take an extra tier on the east stand bringing the capacity up to 40,000. That's what I remember too.
Jace Posted 11 December 2015 Posted 11 December 2015 No foundations the steel structure has been designed so that it can be modified easily incase of an additional tier being built, although that was a marketing point when it was built in all honesty all modern football stadiums are the same. Theres no foundations for a number of reasons 1. that would have been extra expense at the time which the club could not afford and 2. There were never any designs originally done for an additional tier when it was built, so it would have been impossible to build something that had never been designed for the stadium or part of the planning application
Tim'llFixIt Posted 11 December 2015 Posted 11 December 2015 Right here is the plan we Should get together with tigers and put up some cash to get the trains going again near the stadium Obviously we would put in the lions share We don't need to go to mad just put in the structure for further extionsion and add other 8k on, also we could tart the place up a little more that end of the city is not the most appealing part is it,whack in a waetherspoons and a pizza express and we can claim it's the new cultural hub of the city, the council will lap it up wham bam job done

les-tah Posted 11 December 2015 Posted 11 December 2015 i cant picture in my head what an expansion to our stadium would look like.. Anyone good with Microsoft paint that wants to draw it out ??? lol
Gerard Posted 11 December 2015 Posted 11 December 2015 So we put in the lions share and they put in the tigers share? Shouldn't we put the foxes share and the speedway team put in the lions share?
Tim'llFixIt Posted 11 December 2015 Posted 11 December 2015 top has just snapchatted me a picture of the plans, it's everything i dreamed of and more
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 11 December 2015 Posted 11 December 2015 i cant picture in my head what an expansion to our stadium would look like..
Wymsey Posted 11 December 2015 Posted 11 December 2015 top has just snapchatted me a picture of the plans, it's everything i dreamed of and more Doesn't look unsafe at all!
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 11 December 2015 Posted 11 December 2015 I might have a try and see if I can design an expansion later, not great at it though so probably won't be very good!
purpleronnie Posted 11 December 2015 Posted 11 December 2015 i cant picture in my head what an expansion to our stadium would look like.. Anyone good with Microsoft paint that wants to draw it out ??? lol maybe similiar to the cardiff expansion? Hope not though, looks poor IMO.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 11 December 2015 Posted 11 December 2015 These got chucked about on Twitter a while back, I think they expanded the Family stand and the East stand but you get the idea:
Wymsey Posted 11 December 2015 Posted 11 December 2015 Looks similar to Man Utd's ground style. Wouldn't mind having those screens removed for the expansion.
cosb6 Posted 11 December 2015 Posted 11 December 2015 Several times in this thread "SAFE STANDING" has been mentioned. Just in case it's unknown, safe standing does not change the capacity. It just replaces the seats, with seats they can LOCK in the up position. Everyone still has a SEAT number, has to stand where the seat is, you just can't use the seat, and are allowed to stand. It's not going to increase capacity, that has to be done with a "Cardiff-esque" extension.

Not entirely true. safe standing often involves a 3 for 2 ratio. 3 standing for every 2 seats. http://www.fsf.org.uk/latest-news/view/safe-standing-the-business-case Where space and configurations allow more fans can be admitted to safe standing areas too. Exact numbers will vary from club to club because of different stadium dimensions but the Government’s Green Guide allows for one sitting fan for every 1.8 standing fans (i.e. 1:1.8). The ratio in Germany varies from 1:1.2 to 1:1.8 but let’s take 1.4 as a working average. - See more at: http://www.fsf.org.uk/latest-news/view/safe-standing-the-business-case#sthash.pCYor4tC.dpuf

Jace Posted 11 December 2015 Posted 11 December 2015 top has just snapchatted me a picture of the plans, it's everything i dreamed of and more Are you in the graphic design industry mate? Thats pretty impressive! All joking aside if they made the east stand look like the old carling stand that would be epic!
Jace Posted 11 December 2015 Posted 11 December 2015 These got chucked about on Twitter a while back, I think they expanded the Family stand and the East stand but you get the idea: Yeah these were the images I were referring to, they are poor quality but I think they could be genuine. See what I mean about the roof being similar to the Cardiff extension would be a poor effort if this was real. Its still a shame the Bede Island plans never went through that should have been the stadium we needed

Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 11 December 2015 Posted 11 December 2015 @ those trees dotted about in the car park for the sake of it. Genuinely wouldn't be surprised if there was a requirement that you have to plant X amount of trees on new developments
Will1981 Posted 11 December 2015 Posted 11 December 2015 Building another stadium is obviously not going to happen but for those stattos out there, has anyone moved stadiums twice in a reasonably short space of time? I dont think your allowed to move statiums until you have been in your current one for atleast 20 years.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 11 December 2015 Posted 11 December 2015 This is my very basic design I made of an expansion to the East Stand. It's not very good at all and the sizing of the stands are not quite realistic but thought it was worth a try https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=D2A6AB5C7925B293!305&authkey=!AOk-PttnF3mnf-E&ithint=file%2cpptx
Danizen Posted 11 December 2015 Posted 11 December 2015 Building another stadium is obviously not going to happen but for those stattos out there, has anyone moved stadiums twice in a reasonably short space of time? The only one I can think of is Juventus. They moved into The Stadio Delle Alpi in 1990 and hated into The Juventus Stadium in 2011.
