If (when) we win the league, Morgan (Jamaica), Mahrez (Algeria), Inler (Switzerland), Kramaric (Croatia) and Benalouane (Tunisia) will be the first player of their respective nationalities to do so.

By the end of the season it is very likely that we would have avoided relegation even if we only had played our home fixtures,

(Could be the same for away fixtures too)

Premier League analysis: what the stats say

A statistical analysis reveals that Leicester City are the best-for-value side in the top four and that they have only failed to score three times

.....and other stats

Wasyl Poland?

Wasilewski, Fuchs, Schlupp/Amartey and Shinji are all from nations with just a single premier league winner so far. (Kuszczzak, Manninger, Essien and Kagawa were the first, respectively)

Kasper would be the third Dane, after his dad and Lindegaard.

Our 7-0 combined home and away performance against Swansea this season is our best in the top flight since - when? Anybody know?

Answering my own question - no doubt a sign of madness.

We beat Southampton 4-1 and 5-1 in 1967/68. Same seven goal difference overall. In the 5-1 at the Dell, Shilton scored! (There's a chant hiding in that sentence ...)

Amount of games lost in a season by the eventual League winners since Premier League was formed (yes I know football existed before!). 3 or less isn't that common! In fact, only twice has a team lost less than 3 times and won the league.

In the time since the start of 'The Great Escape'...we have gained 98 points, Villa, by comparison, have achieved just 26!

End of March 2015 we were 48 points adrift of Chelsea. Presently we are 29 ahead of them...(a 'swing' of 77 points) !

Does the Chelsea stat really work? We were both reset to zero points at the start of the season, so we didn't actually make those 48 points up.

Still the difference between the points we trailed by age now lead them by is amazing.

Must be honest, not my research......Was pointed out on the radio and I thought it sounded damned impressive!

I wasn't calling you, I just couldn't work out of it was right.

Since they were 48 points ahead we haven't won 77 points more than them, so I don't think there's been a swing.

They beat us by nearly 50 points last season, we've only beat them by nearly 30 this. So since those points started to be collected (the start of last season) they've got 20 odd more points than us.

First time that neither games between the eventual winners and runners up in the Premier League has been shown live on TV in England?

There is one big assumption there.

Still got 3 games to go mind, it could still be Spurs winning the title with 4 defeats, or us with 4,5 or even 6...

That's a gem. The night we were at WHL TV would have shown Liverpool 3 Arsenal 3, right?

After Brighton, (December 2013), we had a run of 32 games, W21,D9,L2...Ending with THE Man Utd game.

We then had a  run of 24 games...............................................W2,D5,L17,

Then hit the 'current' spell....................................43 games.....W29,D11,L3............

I wonder when, (if ever), any team has had such a 'rollercoaster' of results......

72pts from 96 available, then

11pts from 72, and finally

98pts from 129,

Crazy, crazy time to be a Fox!

I make it 44 games in our current run (9 last season, then 35 this). I agree, though, quite a rollercoaster. Here's another way to express it:

For 32 games    Average:  2.25 points per game

For 24 games    Average:  0.46 points per  game

For 44 games    Average:  2.23 points per game

Just visualise that on a graph -that's a pretty sexy set of vital statistics. There must have been many rollercoaster periods in our history like this - because we've always been a yo-yo club. What's special this time is that the second and third stages happened in the same league.

I spy an excuse to show this again:

we could complete graetest double in history, one that will probably be never repeated

Winning TWO titles in the same season whilst playing  the Mighty MANCHESTER UNITED

November 28 2015

1- VARDYS record, that's a kind of  title

May 1 2016

2 PREMIER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS

a better double than ALL the doubles MU have ever inflicted on us COMBINED over the years
