MPH Posted 15 December 2015 Posted 15 December 2015 So that Chelsea game was a bit of an eye opener for me... The Man united game too. We have more than held our own.... There no way we can any longer claim we are ' just having a good spell' So the Question... not where do you WANT us to finish.. but where do you THINK we will finish? Just how good are we? Will the Africa cup of nations effect if not our main team, but our ability to cover injuries? What if we strengthen in January?

foxfanazer Posted 15 December 2015 Posted 15 December 2015 I just can't see us losing 6 or 7 games all season so if we keep the points total ticking over with draws in the tough games and then blitzing the riff raff we could genuinely finish top 4. I've voted 5th as it all just seems too good to be true

Now given the amazing form we're in and how well we have done this season, I reckon we could finish 5th. Higher than that would be even better.

Vardy and marhez are brilliant but I don't think they're going to score maybe 60 goals between them, Chelsea won with 73 goals last year. Just wish we could somehow get krameric in and scoring how he was when we bought him. Austin looks like he could go on a run again, and I get the impression he's not a big time Charlie so would fit into a team ethic.
Kitchandro Posted 15 December 2015 Posted 15 December 2015 I've gone for 3rd, but I think it could be anywhere in the top 6. I seriously fancy us to finish in the top 4. I think to win the title we'll need a couple of key signings, a striker good enough to start up front with Vardy is vital. I just can't have us finishing below the likes of Man Utd and Tottenham on my mind. We're streets ahead of them at the moment.

Austin was a player we were after when we were scrapping to stay in the league, it's a completely different situation now that we're offering a genuine chance off playing in Europe next season. I think we should be aiming a bit higher if we're serious about this top 4 malarkey.

Besides that it's getting players that will fit in with a team ethic such as we have. Big time players are alright if you've got a team full of them, we seem to have a team more like the crazy gang than real Madrid.

Keep our big players fit and I genuinely believe only Man City and Arsenal have better sides than us so who knows, with some canny transfer business and a ton of luck we could finish anywhere in the top 3. If injuries hit hard though we should still have enough at this point to finish no lower than seventh.

Austin got 20 goals in a shite QPR team last season and seems (although I wouldn't really know for sure) to have a decent attitude. His ethic fits in with the team as well.Fair enough he's not the best striker we could aim for but he has the characteristics that would suit us down to a tee and with such an emphasis on team spirit and togetherness along with the quality it's better to have the ethic and attitude to avoid spoiling the apple cart.

Point totals of team to finish 4th: 2014-15: 70 points 2013-14: 79 points 2012-13: 73 points 2011-12: 69 points 2010-11: 68 points 2009-10: 70 points 2008-09: 72 points 2007-08: 76 points 2006-07: 68 points 2005-06: 67 points Also, many of those years there's a pretty substantial gulf from the point totals of 4th and 5th

Arsenal and/or Man City will probably pull away from us between now and the end of February and we could well find Utd nipping at our heels, but then we have a decent run to cement top 3 status and potentially even push for the title dare I say it depending on how well the aforementioned two fare in their matches.
Foxhateram Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 Can't believe I am putting this on paper, but from the position we are now in I would be genuinely disappointed if we didn't finish in the top 4. This chance just isn't going to come round again for many years. The so called top 4 are all in a bit of a transition period right now and struggling to adapt to the way the premier league is changing. We need to take this oppertunity now and do everything we possibly can to get into the champions league and possibly even challenge for the top. Woah I can't believe I just said that out loud. I must be dreaming right now.
Leicester_Numan Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 As the results keep coming in, I keep upping my predictions, from a pre-season 12th, to top ten, top 8 and now after beating Chelsea 5th. I'm nowhere near ready to predict top 4 and 1st is still a bit ridiculous at this stage.
