ozvaldo Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 No one can defend King after that performance. He was fûcking atrocious. He may not have directly been at fault for their goal, but his all-round performance was so weak. Kanté had to do his job for him, which left us so lightweight in midfield all game. Hope Drinky gets fit soon!
Callabinho Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Just on the way back, not a good game for us at all, I thought Okazaki and Albrighton were poor, but for me King was by far the worst today. Yes he got a toe in occasionally and nicked a few balls however more often that not he was second best to everything, I would also like to know who's job it was to stick to Ferminho? He had far too much space to look up and find a pass. Vardy was clearly injured and they swarmed Mahrez every time he got the ball, but generally they stifled us today and stopped us from playing. I thought they were very good today in particular Can and Ferminho. Can hardly lost the ball and recovered is brilliantly and Ferminho got into some dangerous areas had they had a more dynamic attack it could have been far worse. Hopefully this is a blip, and we can nick something against Man City, I hate to be negative but it did feel a lot like last season, plenty of endeavour but no real quality, we loooked clueless at times and If we're serious about a European spot we need to bring in some quality in January.
crisp packet Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Didn't get started Passing was poor , they wanted it more. Cannot say that too many times this season ... On to the next one! Just the small matter of man city big 6 pointer COYB
StanSP Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Kante and Morgan the only ones to come out with any real credit today. Other players weren't at the top of their game today. But I'm not and don't want to complain much. We've lost TWO games all season. First away defeat since March! The only game we haven't scored in today this season. Barely any clubs have those kind of stats at Christmas time. Liverpool outclassed us tactically. High tempo game worked for them today. Didn't give us time or space on the ball like other teams did and blocked our counters very well. Surrounded Mahrez with 2 or 3 players for all the time he was on. Positives were Kante/Morgan. Kante's tackling and interception numbers increased a lot today, especially the first one. Morgan got countless blocks in. Shame we conceded in the manner we did as the cross should have been blocked. Doubt Ranieri or the players will dwell on today much. Think he'll get them well prepared for Tuesday. Kompany could be missing for them which is positive for us.
Foxxed Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 I'm glad Ranieri took off Vardy and Mahrez. Neither seemed up for it, nor the team in the first half. Vardy seems so instrumental to the team spirit, it's a worry when he's out of it. I wonder if, even though he seems to be able play injured, after a while it takes its toll. Perhaps rest him for the city game and put Shinji in his place and put him on at half time if needs be. Wouldn't mind Mahrez starting on the bench either, and start Dyer since his work effort was great. King seemed absent until the team switched on in the last 15 minutes - will be happy to see Drinky back. Morgan was really world class that game. I doubt there was a better defender in the league today. And Kanté was excellent as ever, the only midfielder for most of the game who was switched on, although Albrighton did put in a fair bit of effort. Basically, solid defeence, and Morgan is excellent (their goal seemed to be poor marking from the midfield, probably King from what I could see), midfield switched off except Kanté, and nothing to say about the forwards.
Buzzell Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Don't think they will personally Got a feeling Southampton are going to do us a big, big favour here.
Babylon Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Shame his purple patch only lasted like 65 minutes. Back to himself again today.Once again totally ignoring the fact most of the team was shit today.
Fox92 Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Here we go again... We're still top..we hadn't lost in ages and suddenly....Andy King ain't good enough. Christ, this forum sometimes... He is good enough, he just isn't as good as Drinkwater. Said it after last week too - although King retained the ball well - he doesn't have the driving force Drinkwater has. Kante ends up doing so much.
Richmondfox Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Was always going to be a tough game. Disagree with taking Mahrez and Vardy off though. Keep these two playing whilst they are in form. Man City next. Let's have it. Kante had a pretty good game but that game was mopping up the mess that was in front of him rather than attacking play. We could barely string a pass or attack together. Too many of Kasper's long punts end up in the hands of the keeper. Liverpool played tightly and the Can tackle on Vardy affected him game. Both Mahrez and Vardy were poor in this game and offered nothing. They had no service, I don't think I saw King with the ball or hear the commentator mention him. It was right to bring both of them off as it wasn't working and we need to save them for Tuesday. I don't mind losing but wish they put a bit more effort in. The problems would appear if we play like that against the teams around us. Huth looked off pace and not as steady as he has. Albrighton wasn't getting the balls to him or getting any space. We need to start winning the first and second balls against Man City as De Bruyne is on fire and Sterling can find space and counter all day.
Fox92 Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Shame his purple patch only lasted like 65 minutes. Back to himself again today. You're post(s) and hatred of Okazaki is a fvcking joke. Embarrassment.
kingfox Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Sean StLedger said on twitter that Vards had been "under the weather" the last few days, take from that what you will. Could of done with St Ledger in defence today, he wouldn't of let Benteke score.
Guest Col city fan Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 He's not not as good as Drinkwater, his safe, slow, backwards passing has stood out like a sore thumb the last three games, despite the results. He's good enough to tick us over, but we're far better with Kante and Drinkwater. No I know he's not. Again, that wasn't the point I was making.

daddylonglegs Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 thought we were poor but Liverpool played well. Couldn't deal with their three at all in midfield. I love Kingy but in these games when you need to be confident and strong he doesn't fit the bill and I think we missed Drinkwater. Up front it didn't click at all. Vardy looked injured and Okazaki wasn't given any help up there so ultimately suffered. Put this one behind us and probably change it up a bit for Sunderland to avoid injury/fatigue!
pazzerfox Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Although that was the worst performance of the season, we should have had a penalty in the first half! I think Albrighton needs a rest, he has a had a good season so far but needs a break to freshen himself up. Dyer should play against Man City.
ImBlue Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Once again totally ignoring the fact most of the team was shit today. Everyone can have a bad day and most have performed week in week out, and played out of there skin. The likes of Fuchs, Vardy, Mahrez, Albrighton. King was poor today but is it his fault? His limitations are obvious, but due to injury is the best option we have. My frustration is when we have a player who has been largely poor this season, gets in over another player who has equipped himself (bar finishing probably, which comes with sharpness) well when he has played. My frustration is not Okazaki, as you can see he gives 100%, but with Claudio/Board who insist he plays regardless when we play better with Ulloa (statistically proven over and over again) and he is a better player. I wouldn't be giving Okazaki the hip I am if we didn't have better options on the bench, but we do.
EGBFitness Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Over a 90 minute performance I haven't seen us play so deep in a long time! Liverpool was always on the front foot and Vardy was so isolated. Maybe he was injured/unwell like some have said but as a team we don't very little to get him into the game, soon as Ulloa replaced him it was always going to be game over
ronnup Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 The interesting part for me will be if we lose against City, now the team respond to a ew defeats in a row.
daddylonglegs Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Also I hate to bring this topic up again, but the treatment of Okazaki from our fans is disgraceful. I can just about sit there and ignore the moronic comments about his ability and job he does in the team as unfortunately some people just aren't educated enough to see how useful he can be. I was sat in front of someone today who was being straight up racist: 'get that ****ing jap off' 'that jap is a waste of space' 'that jappy ozagaki is useless'. It makes my own view of Leicester fans so negative and it needs to stpp

chicagofox Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Shows a lot of people on here a bit of realism as to where we are. Top 4 would still be a miracle. We have a couple of top top players in mahrez (who didn't turn up today) and Kante (Arguably MOTM in every game he has played). Then some good ones in Huth, Vardy, Morgan, Fuchs, Drinkwater....and then some average ones. Whether you like it or not, we don't have the 'technical ability' to achieve the top 4.....we will only do so from other teams not achieving what they should. But this is the beginning of Ranieri's project, I cant wait for the future. What the **** does the term, "technical ability" even mean? Seriously, it's just a phrase people trot out to make themselves sound intelligent.

Jattdogg Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Cant win them all. Had a feeling today wasnt going to be our day and credit to pool for attacking us. They could only bang 1 in past us with all that pressure. I wouldnt say we have much to worry about. Pool couldnt score a glorious chance at the end there to put the game out of reach...now thats more worrisome . Shake it off. I think we needed a loss to remind us (post xmas) what needs to be done. Hard work! Moving on, lets smash man shitty

But they are different players playing different roles, as keeps being said he's there to disrupt, tackle and intercept. Look at the games he plays, more often than not its against better teams. Leo plays when we're likely to see the ball more in the attacking third.
