foxes_rule1978 Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Yes, i kinda mentioned that already. thanks though. I'm trying to say that he has got it right far more than wrong this season... and your last statement 2 losses in 18 proves that ... the amount of goals we have scored, the fact we have the two highest scorers and breaking records etc... need I go on
Foxxed Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Although the midfield were hardly excellent, Kante being the only decent one, with Mahrez not 100%, I'm tempted to think Liverpool's pressure managed the knock the wind from our sails. Some of the first-half play in the midfield, with Liverpool players crowding around, was comical.
StanSP Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 I love Claudio but does anyone else think he gets it wrong a hell of a lot? How many times has he got it wrong and then sorted it out at half time to ensure a comeback. Today however he just got it wrong. 2 losses in 18 though. you contradicted yourself there a tad...
filbertstreet Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Question: if Ulloa walked into any Championship team, would he clearly be the best striker on that squad? How about Kramma? Or Okazaki? I think the attack needs to be bolstered incrementally, and January offers the chance if the right opportunity comes up. Should be running on, lazy sods

What are some other examples of the hell of a lot of times he's got things wrong?
Captain... Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 My take on it: Liverpool did to us what we have done to many other teams this season, they forced us into playing poorly by not giving us any time in the ball, pressed us from the front to the back and were better at it. Bad day at the office, move on, we're still top of the table and a win on Tuesday and all of this will be forgotten.
glenelgfox Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 I can't remember us putting three passes together we was really poor today. Agree - we are used to opponents having bulk of possession but when we did win possesssion mainly due to Kante's energy we continually missed targets and turned it straight back. It's been alongtime since the bulk of the 11 on the pitch had collective shockers! Man City will test if we really are a contender?

Grewks Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 All this 'win on tuesday' stuff, as though we expect a win. If man city play 4-4-2 and match us like liverpool did today, we lose.
NewEnglandFox Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Oh come on....Shinji has hardly played as a striker - or even a support striker - since the Sunderland win. But as a front end midfielder he offered next to nothing and has had about three genuinely decent games all season. But he was just one of many who weren't allowed to play today and our team had real problems firing off about five out of 14 cyclinders. No need to overreact to ol' Moosey. Last I knew Shinji was a defender. Last week he scored and supposedly became a prolific goalscorer. Ol' Moosey just wants to change the criterion to suit his agenda. Alibi hunting at it's finest. This week he's a forward that got no service. That confuses me, I thought he supposed to be in there for the "dogged pressing." He didn't show up against Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester United, and now Liverpool; you know, the teams that are considered big... No reason to be surprised with his performance today.

I have no idea where you're trying to go with this or if it's rhetorical or not so I'm going to give it a stab. Ulloa is the only one of those guys to play in the Championship and he bossed it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIZ_wEEkL8U I think Krammy would do well once he found his missing feet. I rate him more than Austin given a few games to settle in. The thing about Shinji is I don't think he's fast, strong, or big enough to be the x factor.

You call it alibi hunting I call it fair reflection. Shinji didn't have a great game today and hasn't had a spectacular season but he's still better than our other strikers. Ulloa isn't far behind, but he is behind.

ousefox Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Top class stuff from kramaric running back in the last minute there
Izzy Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 All this 'win on tuesday' stuff, as though we expect a win. If man city play 4-4-2 and match us like liverpool did today, we lose. I don't think anyone 'expects' us to win on Tuesday, but we've got every chance. We're at home and they've slipped up away this season so it's not unthinkable. I'm not sure 'we lose' if they play 442 but we'll definitely need to be at our best.
Captain... Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 All this 'win on tuesday' stuff, as though we expect a win. If man city play 4-4-2 and match us like liverpool did today, we lose. It was a bit tongue in cheek, but City don't play a pressing game like Liverpool do so it will be a different game. It wasn't playing 442 that won it for Liverpool, but the fact the out ran and out pressed us and we weren't good enough on the ball to cope with that. If Man City beat us it will because they pass through us and use the pace of Sterling, or take their chances from set pieces, they will not press us into being poor.
fuchsntf Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Amazing really. Just listened to some reports, and fans reactions on the loss. It seems a team, with quite a few 10s of million pounds players, with a super modern manager, playing at home, were brilliant by outwitting a small club of only 1 and half season PL experienced team. Its a farce..What happened today should happen, but it was the small club, playing away, with a below avg performance, flat and had lost that newfound spark who could of nicked it today. Sorry , the media and some fans on here, using this as a Liverpool revelation, and PLeague redemption , is way off. AND no I dont think if other teams play 4-4-2 against us, it will be the bubble bursting, and the end of our season. Our season is still special, and will, not implode, if we lost now against Man.city, I would still say lets see where we are at the end of January.
Larry_LCFC Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 I think the problem is, we had no expectation up to now and we were simply underdogs overperforming and enjoying it. Now we are "title contenders" and everyone is expecting us to win matches and challenge for the title. Pressure/Expectation and Leicester has never gone together well. We need to go back under the radar for a bit and then go on a stomping run in the last 2 months
ian_marshall Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Liverpool were excellent today. Pressed all over the pitch from the first minute to the last. Doubled up and on occasion tripled up on Mahrez nullifying his threat and cut off the supply to Vardy. In addition, they switched play quickly utilising their width which seemed to give them an extra man at times as we over committed in trying to close down the man with the ball. What annoyed me the most today was that we weren't comfortable in possession of the ball and seemed happy to pump the ball forward with little accuracy and without any great thought. It was very frustrating to watch at times, especially knowing that we're certainly capable of playing better.
Lestoh Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 If you told me at the start of the season we'd only lose 1-0 at Anfield I'd tickle ya balls n say that'll do lad that'll do
Bryn Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 I actually think it's to our credit we only lost 1-0 today. Liverpool played really, really well for me. They'd done their homework on us and they executed their gameplan perfectly. They had three men minimum on Mahrez when he had the ball, when Vardy pressed the defenders they shut off the options he would have had to give the ball to, they passed accurately and expensively, using the width of the pitch to stretch our midfield and defence. I thought they were outstanding.
daddylonglegs Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 All this 'win on tuesday' stuff, as though we expect a win. If man city play 4-4-2 and match us like liverpool did today, we lose. They will have Yaya 'runs average of 2 kilometres a game' Toure in their team. No chance will they out press us.
Vardinio'sCat Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 It had to happen eventually .The score every game and unbeaten away from home records both gone. Fair play to Liverpool they did a good job on us,I just hop we haven't been sussed and everybody else does the same. I've read they went with 442, which might have been a factor.
Number 6 Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 Yeh sounds like Klopp altered their play to negate us. Perhaps a first sign that we have the leagues attention and are going to have to find other means of winning.
