Larry_LCFC Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Of all the ways I expected that game to end, 0-0 definitely wasn't it. Happy with a point, keeps us in touch. Don't think Vardy is effective on his own upfront, he needs to be alongside someone. Inler wasn't particularly impressive again, I just can see him ever adjusting to our game and this league. Officials were probably the worst this season, falling for Man Citys theatrics time after time. Onto Saturday now. Should get the 3 points.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Thoroughly enjoyable 0 0 and I thought our defense especially Captain Morgan were immense. Delighted with tonight ,rest up and take all 3 points against a very tough opposition in Bournemouth and what a festive period ! So much for our testing games, I think we've answered a lot of doubters questions. COYB
Matt Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 I'll take that, although I do feel someone disappointed with the game being ruined by the ref. (And as people know i'm not one to point the finger at the ref) He was an arsehole wasn't he. Anyway think a draw was a fair result really we both had some chances, think we probably just edged it if you had to pick a winner. Man City were dirty bastards! But a draw i'll take that!
Thracian Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Okay - lots of pluses like a clean sheet against recent Premiership champions and routine Champions League contenders. I also thought we had the best chances on balance - perhaps not quite as many as them but a couple could and perhaps should have been despatched. Defensively I thought we were majestic in dealing with both corners, free-kicks and most anything delivered into the box. Organised, positive and competitive. Happy days and a big plus to all our back line. Kante was 24 carat pure gold. I just loved it when he hurtled diagonally almost right across to park to hunt the little nuisance down and somehow got a foot in to stifle yet another move. But that was only one cameo. The man must be an absolute gem to play alongside because he's like oxygen - he's all around you even when you can't see him. But there were downsides too. A full game for Inler and he's worse than I imagined. If Kingy or even some kid in the under 14's had done some of the juvenile things he did tonight they'd have been lambasted. First he tried to play a square pass across the front of his own penalty box. Several times he tried dribbling in the most ridiculous places and inevitably got caught in possession seeing as I've seen better dribbling skills on newborns. Then how much time does he expect to be given before delivering a pass? Yes, he was involved. Yes, he had some okay moments. But that's about the third time I've watched him and every time there've been moments when he's shown himself a disaster waiting to happen and if people say Kingy doesn't relish a challenge, God only knows what they'd say about Inler if they were honest. Some of those things are supposed to be hammered out of you at junior level - and I mean that seriously. If Vardy had been playing for Manchester that first mistake would have cost a goal. That said, tonight was the second time we've failed to score this season and I don't think we're looking anything like as dangerous as we did. I don't think Schlupp ever played marvellously for us but we seem to be missing his pace and the options he provides no end. We also seem to be too Vardy focused to the point where he's become almost our only outlet and we were never really committed to supporting him - or our breakaways in sufficient numbers to be really convincing - perhaps out of respect for the opposition but if you don't score you don't win titles. That's perhaps the minor criticism of the two I have because our points return from the run of games that some thought we'd get nothing from has been excellent. But the other skill that's gone awol is our passing and moving. Why have we suddenly decided football's better played in the air? And why are we suddenly finding it so difficult to play the ball quickly to feet. I suppose it was Kingy's fault even though he was playing for 80 minutes. Manchester covered and defended efficiently enough but they didn't pressure us anything like as vigorously as Liverpool for all their individual talent. They didn't spoil us with lots of time but mostly they were happy to fill the spaces rather than bully us with rapid aggression - yet still we couldn't string simple one and two-touch passes together and the movement off the ball was all but non existent. As I suggested beforehand we really played as we did against Tottenham. We suffocated City and trouped off happy with a point and added another pull on the bell that we're waiting to strike 40. It was a point hard earned and well deserved, no doubt about that. Man of the Match? Kante or Morgan were both brilliant but I'd err towards Morgan given what he had to cope with. But we were never at our best and I just hope our reinforcements enable us to get our excitement back. .
Clever Fox Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 As said a draw was a good result given how fast the games have come. great performances by all of the defence and Kante and Albrighton in midfield. Inler was ok but needs to speed his game up. There's no doubt Vardy got the best chance of the game to win it but went for power over placing it in the corner. Overall though very happy with the result. But we definitely need recruitments in January if we wish to remain top four.
LCFC FOX Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 The game was pretty boring. Would have took a point at the start and well done ranieri. The only negative for me was in about the 85th minute when some moron started shouting abuse at some lad for no reason. Wasn't even shouting abuse at me but i had to say something as it was p!ssing me off and the lad did nothing wrong. Just kept slapping him on the head and laughing then sticking his middle finger up at him. Like wtf if you enjoy doing that at a game then grow up.
NewEnglandFox Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 If anyone but Vardy missed that shot you guys would be vilifying him for dropping points.
Thracian Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 In all honesty I thought Man City were going to be better than that. We were under the cosh a bit in the first half, Kasper had to make a few good saves, come second half I thought we were the better side and Man City didn't look like scoring. As for performances, Fuchs, Huth & Kante performed well but Wes Morgan was phenomenal absolutely phenomenal. Decent performance and a deserved point Morgan was a 10 for me. Just totally in control or in the way. Brilliant.
Thracian Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 If anyone but Vardy missed that shot you guys would be vilifying him for dropping points. Vardy's earned some slack but he should have hit the target. He still looked tired to me for all that he was far more dangerous than against Liverpool.
Illusion35 Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Whoever the lads were smoking in the female toilets at half time in the east stand singing 'we're Leicester city we'll smoke where we want!' - have a word with yourselves! Never seen that before - are they still not letting the smokers out at half time?!
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Kante was great today, doing what he does best, but he is guilty of give the ball away easily at times. Granted he always goes after it and often gets it back, but he needs to work on his end product. My MotM was Huth or Morgan, but we were very solid defensively, and credit all the players for their efforts in that. If I was gonna criticise anyone it would be Inler, too slow, got caught in possession too many times and questionably should have conceded a penalty. Half way through the season and I couldn't be more proud of the team.
Alf Bentley Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Il take a draw good response from the loss at Liverpool well done lads 2016 good bye cant wait for 2017 TeamRocket? Sounds like you got in a TimeRocket if you're about to enter 2017. You're making the tardis look tardy.
GingerrrFox Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 2 things. 1) Their fans are absolute classless wankers. They believe they should have battered us and we are "shite" apparently. 2) They all have it in for the ref and think he cost them the game? The **** basically had a lime green shirt on for 90 minutes. Personally I think Manchester City are the worst team we've played out of the so called "big boys".
Raj Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Gutsy hardworking, solid, never give up attitude against a team full of class and big name players.

Bob Weasel Fox Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 You seriously think we were trying to win when we made a sub in extra time, and that sub was de laet for Albrighton?I thought we were trying more in the second half certainly, remember how good man city are aswell, we had to contain them for large periods
Babylon Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 I love it when the oppo break clear, you nervously glance about to see what city players are near by... You see the closest is Kante and you happily just sit back in your chair awaiting the inevitable tackle, interception and counter without a care in the world.
StanSP Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Wes Morgan N'Golo Kante Kasper My stand-out players for tonight. Morgan was a beast once again at the back. Guy loves to block shots and be in the right position at the right time. Handled their strikers and attacking midfielders with ease. Kante. Did a job on Toure today. Hard to keep him quiet but he did just that. Thought his shot that had Hart scrambling had gone in. Wish it had! Kasper - pivotal for us today given the shots they had on goal and he was equal to them. No idea how BT Sport gave Sterling man of the match lol . Most entertaining thing about him today was that hair do

Kitchandro Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 If anyone but Vardy missed that shot you guys would be vilifying him for dropping points. Yeh but it was Vardy. He should have hit the target but he's won us plenty of points so it's not worth slating him for it.

whoareyaaa Posted 30 December 2015 Posted 30 December 2015 anyone think the refs have took a look at all our decsions this season had a chat and in the last 2 games gave the oppostion much more advantage on that basis, no major game changers but just frustrating decsions.
ajthefox Posted 30 December 2015 Posted 30 December 2015 McNulty's BBC match report put Kanté as MOTM. Far more deserving than Sterling.
ScouseFox Posted 30 December 2015 Posted 30 December 2015 whilst kante was better than sterling and morgan was head and shoulders above both of them put together, sterling was very good in the first half. if city were going to score or threaten it was going to be him. bt obviously wanted to choose a man city player and he was their best by a distance.
