so bbc radio leicester just tweeted this that claudio has just said the following

maybe this means for incomings and hes happy with what weve got ?

or maybe to try and stop other teams asking for silly prices for players we might be after

its  a chance to get youngback u pkeeper lost and also maybe means that Krameric Benaloune and Inler staying put for now,imo id welcome some young back upplayers

Surely we will be getting a striker if he has no confidence in Kramaric.

Ulloa and Okazaki, as useful as they are in different aspects, are never going to be natural finishers. Relying on Vardy and Mahrez for goals could come back to bite us.

We have a chance at top 4 and even the title, why not go out and sign a top striker and just bloody go for it!

He's making a mistake if this is true. We need a top quality striker to get us over the line. Money isn't exactly an issue for us so I really don't know why he wouldn't want to bring anyone else in. We have an incredible chance of playing Champions League football next season, and we should be spending money now to turn that dream into a reality.

We are in good shape and signings in January are notoriously either bad value for money or often complete failures, definitely more so than when made during the close season when new players get a pre-season with their new club to settle in.

I think we could improve and i'm sure Ranieri does as well but perhaps he doesn't think it needs to be done right now. My gripe will be though that if we fall just short of the top 4 then we'll forever think what could have been if we'd really gone all out for some quality players that ordinarily might not of been interested except for us being in the top 2 and could be swayed in to joining. That will be hard to stomach and it'd be unbareable to read about it every ten minutes on here as well.

We don't need to upset the spine of this team but it's quite clear that Ulloa is struggling big time as a bit part player and Okazaki is still yet to consistently show his value to our side. I think it's the one position where top 4 will be won or lost for us, we need someone else to share the goalscoring burden. We are in a position to attract a level of player we'd never of been able to do so 6 months ago, it should not be under-estimated. Vardy might go back to struggling for goals again like he has done during spells in his career and it would be idiotic not to splash out if possible. Milik from Ajax would be my target, his assists and goals from club and country seem to hold up to scrutiny, his all round game looks tailor made for english football as well.

Exactly this!.. Huge mistake not to sign a striker!

As good as our team have been, it would be nice to make the most out of our position and bring in some talent to keep us in this position. Just a couple signings to make our depth a bit better, if Kasper gets injured we're back with Schwarzer, if Simpson is out we have De Laet, same with Fuchs - we would have to depend on someone that can't play LB in Schlupp or hope Chilwell can do the business at 18 years old. Also, if Vardy is out for a longer time we don't really have anyone that has shown they could take his place and be as important as him. It could be a risk to bring in a few good players, but it could also pay off and push the whole team to perform better.

I can't find the link but he was quoted the other day as saying (paraphrasing) that they weren't actively pursuing anyone but if something came up that they were interested in then there could follow it up.

Pearson used to say all this sort of stuff it's gamesmanship to keep prices down suggesting that we're not desperate.

Could just be to stop all the constant agent offers he is probably getting.

That or he saw our squad yesterday and actually realised there's some serious talent.

I love Huth but I really wouldn't mind seeing a bit more of benny, even in place of wes when he surely starts to tire soon after his non stop season and a half?

Equally De Laet played well yesterday, so he may prefer shopping for a right back when it's cheaper in the summer and perhaps when we are in a position to fight for big names?

Inler looked a more than able replacement for Kante if needs must, especially given Kante's tired performance yesterday (no criticisms, he needs a rest he's been immense).

And i'd imagine Claudio see's Gray as someone who could play number 10 just as much as Oka & Ulloa so no need for another striker/10? He may even be thinking he needs to fit Gray in now so Put him on the left, Albrighton on the right and Riyad in at 10?

Absolutely spot on, this is ridiculous if true. We really do have a shot at CL football and we are not strengthening in Jan? Madness.

Media play as per usual from CR.

Stops talk of players leaving and silly links with players who could unsettle our current squad.

Window has barely been open a week and we are in a position were in we aren't going to not be checking the market.

Jan window is normally pretty stale one but I'm sure if the right player became available we will put a bid in.

That could be the reason and actually I agree, players like Was/Benny and Inler etc, all look more than capable of being good enough to come in and cover injuries/suspensions and perform well, so I have no worries there. I also think that Simpson has been great at RB and although that is a position I think we can improve on in the long-term, I think we could continue to perform well with Danny there until summer. The striker is the one position I think we must address in this window. Vardy and Mahrez may continue to score freely and give us the goals we need, but the high risk of relying on them could catch us out. Oka and Ulloa just don't seem like they could step in and score the goals Vardy does if he gets injured. Spending 10-15 million now on a top striker could make the difference at the end of the season. If Claudio sticks with what we got though then I pray that Ulloa or Oka and find their scoring boots or players like Gray and Albrighton can provide us with some goals too.

It might just be a case of us not being able to get in our targets at the price we want.

If that's the case I'd rather us go with what we have than bringing someone in just because our money is burning a hole in our pockets.

If true, he probably believes this squad can finish top 4 this season, and he doesn't want to risk bringing in the wrong players for too much money.

Top 4 next season will be a big ask, and better to buy in the summer to try and achieve that.
