I think the only time I'd feel full dissapointment would be if we needed a point to win the league on the final day and we lost, that would be gutting. I'd still be perfectly happy with top 3 at the moment though.

Six weeks ago I'd have taken third but not now. We win two more games and draw two and for me we win the title.

I'm old enough to remember when we were last in a similar situation in the 60s. I was disappointed when we blew it then. Now I'd be absolutely Gutted if  we blew it now.

I think the Team is a lot more solid this time. I'd just like to see us crush somebody before the season ends.

I think I'd at least try to be philosophical about it. Whatever happens I think we can say this has been the greatest league season in the history of the club.

I'd be gutted.

We will never have this chance again, and the smug, self-satisfaction the pundits would get would be unbearable.

But it won't happen - we are going to win this thing.

Had the question been asked at the beginning of the season I'd have been ecstatic.

Now having seen how brilliantly we've worked and played to reach the top of the Premiership and then to break clear for all the doubters, I'd be gutted for a while,  disappointed for longer but still pretty proud of our team.

The reason is that we're so clearly good enough to keep going and I've seen no signs whatsoever of us imploding nor reasons why we might do.     I've never felt comfortable with us sitting back on a lead but there's no question that Ranieri is in his element organising defenders and he has the players to match that ability and commitment both verbally and as focused footballers.

Southampton provided an example. We were every bit the way Troy Deeney described us and I don't recall much of our defending being desperate. It was organised, controlled, tactically sound and our concentration spot on.

You don't get the tally of clean sheets we're getting in the Premiership through just being lucky.

We knew opponents would make scoring more difficult for us and pundits predicted we'd falter as a result.

Instead, we've adapted just as we've adapted to so many situations over the last year or two but particularly under Ranieri's tactical guidance.

We've earned the right to lead the table and have emphasised the fact for a large part of the season already. We now need to approach the remaining games with the same unyielding professionalism

I'd start to go fox hunting...

And get down to KFC, to find those effin chickens I was counting on.

Cancel my Italian holiday.

Forget I ever learnt Italian, never go to a thai restaurant, never wear a (tie) again

Go off pizzas.

Take the bell off my bike, no more ding-dongs...

Go off blondes with Champions scarves.

THEN!!!! Nevertheless ONE WEEK later realise, we have experienced a great achievement.

The ride out of this world,

We have had the whole football world, plus a few unweary innocents holding their breath ,

Still a successfull season.

But holding my pillow under my blankets, I will be....doing a Roy Orbison,

and CRRRRRRYYYYYIIINNNG JUST CRYYYIIINNNNG.

3rd would be a fantastic achievement - both in raising the profile of the club, money coming in from CL, helping establish us PL long-term. Long-term we'd look back and appreciate just how well we did. I don't think we'll ever surpass 3rd in coming seasons.

BUT given how much of a dip in form it would require for us to finish 3rd at the business end of the season, I think we'd all be looking back with sadness and regret we couldn't seal the deal.

Good example is Liverpool in their last year with Suarez - they all look back and say 'We were great and it was a fantastic and fun year...... but that was our chance and we blew it'.

I suppose, that if things were to go to sh*t, that I'd be damn proud of the defense that our back 4 played + Kasper - and even prouder of the team spirit. They've given us all reason to cheer and have played with a focus and intensity that has rarely waned in any substantial fashion. I can handle losing; I can't handle a poor effort.

Ahh shuttup a ya face. Be a cracking result and way beyond the expectations of any but the most seriously in need of medication.

Are you saying your current expectations are no better than 3rd?

If we do not finish first then I will start supporting Forest instead,

Will I f#ck...........

I do think tho last 6 games will go win draw win draw win draw = 12 points and will seal it at manu or everton.

I'd never live it down.

I've been subconsciously singing "Championies" and humming the tune of "We're gonna win the league" and it's driving my Liverpool supporting work mate up the wall.

I can't help it :D

I work with a Man City fan (born in Oldham) and he said on Monday morning "Y'alright?" I really casually replied "Yeah seven points clear n' that" - he just responded "ah fvck off!"
