VLC86 Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Amazingly if we did spend £18m on him then that would be more than Arsenal's third highest transfer fee of all time. Only Ozil & Sanchez would have cost more. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/arsenal/11836362/Arsenals-10-most-expensive-signings-of-all-time.html Amazingly they have won next to **** all in the last 10 years.
FOXES-BROWNBOY Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 remember watching him against man city in champions league and he looked a good player
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Would be a good replacement IF Vardy was to leave in the summer
VLC86 Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 He's not 29 But when you work out that 23 in Nigerian years is 29 in English years this makes sense.
SecretPro Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Would be a good replacement IF Vardy was to leave in the summer We can have another striker you know?
sphericalfox Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 This lad will have a million and one songs. Gerrimin with the Eder lad.
lgfualol Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 I've been gone for 2 hours and they STILL havent signed him. What is going on
MC Prussian Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 I've been gone for 2 hours and they STILL havent signed him. What is going on He's too fast - nobody can get a hold of him for him to sign the contract!
dannythefox Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 I hope we get this kid looks a top player and still only young.
Gerard Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Makes Jamie Vardy look like Mertesacker speed wise according to their Fifa16 stats. http://www.futhead.com/16/players/15859/ahmed-musa/ http://www.futhead.com/16/players/3557/jamie-vardy/
ARM1968 Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Can't explain why but I get the feeling this guy would be a lethal addition to our squad. Seen the videos and looks good, as usual.
Aus Fox Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 For me £22million for a player unproven in the premier league is just too much of a risk, if the club are looking to spend that much on a player I'd much rather they looked in the premier league and bought in a proven premier league striker. Messi, Neymar, ibrahimavic, Lewandowski to name a few all unproven in the premiership. Any of those you wouldn't take? Why would you when we could get Berahino, Glenn Murray, Dwight Gayle or Remy.
Vardinio'sCat Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 According to this, he wants to come! http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/01/26/report-leicesters-first-bid-for-ahmed-musa-rejected-23-year-old/?
foxes_rule1978 Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 23, not really prolific from those stats ... but seems great as a second striker, 19m is a lot of monies. With his supposed pace and work rate would slot in nicely though
Raw Dykes Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Normally, I'd say a fee around the £20m mark would be too much to risk spending, but the club's situation is far from normal. We're already guaranteed an eye-watering amount of cash just for being in this division next season, even if we don't qualify for Europe, which looks very unlikely now. When clubs this size find themselves in our position, they probably should splash out a bit in order to try to stay where they are. When you consider next year's income, £20m is a drop in the ocean. It's not even a gamble. He could completely flop and it would make very little difference. I trust the scouts' judgement. If they think he's worth that amount, then I'm confident he is.
JonesLCFC Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 We're gonna make SO much profit from this season. We've spent nothing compared to most teams. £19 mil isn't a lot of money for a Champions League team and that is what we'll be. We have arguably the best head of recruitment in the world selecting our players! Stop stressing!
Guest Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Skillful and quick, I'd just be worried if he's a bit lightweight. He's been talked up for few years but I'm not sure is quite top level. Not sure if want to gamble £20m on him but then maybe if he can keep his game together against tough premier league defending he might add a bit of spark at the right time. As usual, if it's him then we have to hope the club's homework is watertight. I feel like the striker signing is the one which will determine where we end up this season.

Get him under the sports science staff and he can put on a few pounds of muscle without much of a problem.
shen Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 I did my calculations based on him getting picked for France... how can he not!!!!! If Cabaye and Sissoko can get into their squad it would be utterly criminal if Kanté couldn't
Buzzell Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 We're going in on the strikers! How many do we need?!

Well judging by reports, we think he's worth £15 million. Let's wait an see if we even come back with another bid. It's scary to think that £20 million isn't a gamble although you make a valid point. Not sure why we as fans are even that bothered about transfer fees anyway. It's not our money, yet we treat it like it is. Everyone loves a good bargain, sure, but we really shouldn't worry too much if a player costs £5, 10 or 20 million. With Premier League survival secured for at least another season and us looking like we have a team that will compete for a top half placement next year too, surely it's wise to invest in young-ish talent that can help us cement our position. It's hard to say if these were indispensible.

We should be concerned how the club spend their money, too many bad value buys and over inflated contracts will eventually see us relegated. Just like in any business you have to squeeze every bit of value out of your money if you crave success.
