Haydos Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 For that sort of money we could probably get Slimani And? This guy is very highly rated. Isn't Slimani like 5 years older as well?
Richmondfox Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 I have doubts over any player who chooses to join the russian league especially at a young age. Plucked from Nigeria to Holland at 18 then onto Russia a year later where he's been playing champions league football for the past 3 seasons, played at a world cup and the captain of his country all at 23. Slimani has a release clause of £22m/30m Euro which maybe too high for the club in January but more like a summer transfer amount.
LCCFox96 Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 This would be an absolute dream. He'd compliment our style of play very well and has come on a lot since the World Cup.
les-tah Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Actually it's not as many as I thought! Unless France come in for Kante i can see him playing for Mali.. unless he doesn't particularly like the idea of Africa and considers himself fully french...
HankMarvin Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 I have doubts over any player who chooses to join the russian league especially at a young age. Costa, teixeira, witsel, hulk, danny, promes, tosic, fernadiniho, Valbuena, love, mvilla, honda, money talks!!!!
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Sounds like he'd suit us very well. As we all know we're a fast, counter attacking team, and if he's got a similar style of play to us, he would only benefit what we've got already. I like the sound of him.
Babylon Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Unless France come in for Kante i can see him playing for Mali.. unless he doesn't particularly like the idea of Africa and considers himself fully french... I did my calculations based on him getting picked for France... how can he not!!!!!
TJB-fox Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Not sure about the money requested. Rather get an unknown gem for a snip of the price; who would with with our philosophy, and end up like Mahrez/Kante. You can't keep expecting us to sign gems like Mahrez and Kante every time we sign a player you know??
Footballwipe Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Champions League football and the new PL contract would mean our turnover would reach somewhere near £200m if such an occurrence happened next season. £15-18m is nothing.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 His versatility in playing either on the wing or as a forward would be a very useful asset to the squad. Literally sounds exactly what we're about.
mozartfox Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 I do not have Fifa16. Can some kind person with the time, please compile a list of those strikers currently playing in Russia that we have not been linked with thus far? Then we can tick them off as they appear in rumor form over the next 6 days. This is like Christmas for all the Football Agents.
trabuch Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 I think he'd be a perfect fit for us. He'd love it here.
Ozwin Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Building the most devastating counter attacking team in the world and I love it We're the fvcking Mighty Ducks or some shit.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 What a bit of web stalking found http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2580861-why-ahmed-musa-is-the-cska-moscow-player-manchester-united-would-love-to-have https://www.facebook.com/AhmedMusa7/ http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/09/ahmed-musa-leads-cska-epic-comeback-victory-in-10-goal-thriller/ http://www.nairaland.com/1951173/photos-meet-ahmed-musas-wife http://www.news24.com.ng/Sport/Football/ahmed-musa-congratulates-ighalo-20151231
Leicesterpool Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 For me £22million for a player unproven in the premier league is just too much of a risk, if the club are looking to spend that much on a player I'd much rather they looked in the premier league and bought in a proven premier league striker.
MPH Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Or even morale? No one likes those guys who go round pointing out autocorrect problems
Richmondfox Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 You can't keep expecting us to sign gems like Mahrez and Kante every time we sign a player you know?? Exactly this, people seem to be obsessed with this phrase along with "young hungry players", "proven Prem goal scorer" and "big time Charlie's". If we found one he would need time to adjust and develop and we would still need a striker We need a player to hit the ground running to help us over the line and with the aim to be better than Vardy, these players cost money. FYI Mahrez was a happy accident as Walsh was checking someone else out and Kante was doing what he's doing now at Cain last season.
Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Given our scouting track record other teams are bound to be alerted, name of the game I guess when selling. Need to be linked to some absolute donkeys.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Does anyone have a feeling we might be after more than one forward?
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Does anyone have a feeling we might be after more than one forward? Think it's more likely we're covering bases
artursteppe Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 For me £22million for a player unproven in the premier league is just too much of a risk, if the club are looking to spend that much on a player I'd much rather they looked in the premier league and bought in a proven premier league striker. Exciting times. If our management and scouting staff want the Nigeria captain at £19 million, gerrimin! We are top of the Premier League, not division 1. We have players who are worth multi millions. We can afford to spend on quality. On the other hand, just look at the rubbish we got in from France in the last couple of years, who had no premier league experience, they are doing all right.
4everfox Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 I would love this. Ahmed Musa is the bees knees.
STUHILL Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 I think people are forgetting the overall deal. He could be on low-ish wages there and although the price is high, the overall package might not be that much, with wages similar to those already at the club. He is young and Nigerian Captain and from the reports, seems to suit our style. It's a lot of money for one player, but being in the top 4 is a world away from what we are used to and perhaps we need to accept that our owners have a lot of money to spend and we might not ever get a chance at the Prem title again, so if Walsh and Claudio think he is worth getting in, then lets just go for it and not worry about potential value for money for a change..
