WBA.. Home. Tuesday!... Thoughts?

I just hope we show a bit more urgency tonight. Everything was too slow against Norwich until the last ten minutes .Hoping for a decent game and three points as I'm driving up from Portsmouth!

I just feel he looked really off the pace on saturday and I've been impressed with Gray so far. I think we'll miss Kante's energy and pace so it'd be handy to have someone else with a bit quicker albeit in a different position.Got no problem if AlbAlbrighton starts though

No offense, but Gray is NOT going to be of much use against a defensive WBA. He will suffer from the same problem Vardy and Mahrez encountered against Norwich. And defensively he's nowhere near as competent as Albrighton.

Technically, 0 points is worth nothing whether top or bottom. 1 point is never nothing.

Thanks for pointing that out.

I obviously didn't mean literally but 1pt is a good point if you're in the relegation battle but for title challengers it's only marginally better than a loss. Ranieri risked losing the Norwich match to gamble for the win on Saturday by playing 3-4-1-2 which is exactly the right thing to do. If Alex Neil had done that it would be foolish.

If we draw tonight it won't make me feel much different than if we lost. It's a must win game for us tonight.

Think Inler should play instead of Amertey. Experience will be key and the next few games we want to be winning. Hopefully if both Spurs & Arsenal fail to take full points we will and can make the gap even bigger!

First things first.

Kante out is a bit of a mare, and I can't be excited about his replacement being King (the anti Kante) or Amartey who looked pretty shakey on his first start. (Understandably to be fair to him giving the step up in class he was facing).

However, I cannot see any reason why Inler would be on anyone's mind considering the level of performance we have seen from him thus far. He has been nothing short of awful.

Fact is we don't have a quality back up to call upon unless Amartey is much better in there as opposed to playing right back imo.

Point taken, I admit to pedantry. I agree about the feeling, however, I'd still rather have the point! I also agree a win tonight feels essential.

Not really noticed WBA this season, to be honest. Is Brunt a big loss for them ??

He's a nasty little shit, so I'm glad he isn't playing definitely one to stick the boot in and get in the ref's face all the time. He was leading the time wasting in the first half last season.

He is also their captain and a decent crosser  he's not the quickest, but TP will probably stick another CB in at LB, replaced by Chester on Saturday, so expect 4 CBs for Brom tonight. Hopefully our pace will find them out, get the ball and run at them all game. In behind and drill it low across the box, Vardy to have a field day!

Well, that might be true, but the teams at the top shouldn't settle for draws, because the teams around them win more often than not. Draws are far more valuable for the bottom clubs, because their rivals usually don't pick up points.

In a title race, you're better off pushing for a win and risk going home with nothing, than playing for the single point, which might as well be a defeat when your rivals will probably be getting 3.

At the wrong end, a point will likely mean a total +1 on the clubs around you.

I agree that a win tonight is vital to keep the pressure on the other teams challenging.

Spurs at West Ham is a potential banana-skin for them, let's make sure WE don't slip up.

A word of caution though.

If Berahinho get's the chances that Jerome had on Saturday........

Berahino and that other fella have that understanding that strikers instinctively have.

Gotta watch that tonight...

I have a feeling we might get a penalty tonight, don't know why.. just feeling it. We need to becareful on corners and free kicks with West Brom, thats always where they are most dangerous.  I have no doubts about King tonight, he will be totally fine and yes Kante will be missed obviously, but King will play well and is fresh.

Key word is fresh

He'll relish the chance tonight and I have no doubt he can come in and do a job, like he has every other time

I must say £6 million doesn't go as far as it used to. I'm not particularly worried if Andy King plays tonight but when our one big January signing isn't a shoo in to play in his preferred position it seems a bit odd (of course its not certain that he wont at this stage)

King will come in and do a job for us today, just like has at every other point this season when we have needed him. He isn't Kante but he is very reliable for us and Raneiri and the rest of the team trust him which is important. Amartey maybe has a higher ceiling but is a much bigger risk than our Andy.

I'd be tempted to go 352 tonight with:

Huth Morgan Fuchs

Mahrez Drinks Inler Amartey Albrighton

Okazaki Vardy

Bench: Schlump, Ulloa, Simpson, Was, Gray, King, Chills.

Morning chaps.

Middlesbrough fan currently working in Nottingham here.

First of all, what an amazing season you lot are having. Not just good value entertainment and a roller coaster of emotions, but a real inspiration to clubs like the Boro in terms of the model the club has implemented and the success it can have. I hope you get over the line in 11 games time.

I'm tagging onto this thread as I think my membership is too new to start a post - hope you can help.

It's a shot in the dark but I was looking for some friendly advice on the possibility of finding a ticket for tonight - I know the game is sold out and ticket resale sites are a fortune. As a football fan I'm desperate to witness what will end up being a historic season, but I don't want to encourage ticket touts to do so.

I thought I'd reach out to proper fans to see what the best option might be - if anyone knows of a spare ticket going - and if not what the options might be to watch the game around the ground. Otherwise I'll end up going to watch County against the Daggers.

Like I said, I know it's a shot in the dark, bur the opportunity was too good to potentially miss out on.

Cheers

UTB

So you buy as many tickets as you can and stand outside and sell them! Nice try!

Exactly, he won't let anyone down.
