Why are people even bothering to suggest anything other than 4-4-2 lol

Same as every pre-match thread ever in Foxestalk. I bet there isn't a single one going back as long as this forum had been here that doesn't have 3-5-2 suggested!

I think with Kante missing and WBA being narrow and tall, it's not an unreasonable option to consider on this occasion. It's not pandering to WBA, it might be doing what they least want/expect

Taking my girlfriend to her first ever City game because my Dad is ill so she's having his ticket. She doesn't like football at all (she went to Swansea games with her Welsh dad a few times as a kid, back when they were shit) but wants to go because she knows I'd like her to. Therefore I really hope it's a good win tonight, if so I might get her down there again, if it's poor she'll be put off for good!

No Kante could work to our advantage in a game like this. We're expected to be on the front foot so we'll need players getting forward and King is more likely to do this than Kante. We also probably won't need anybody sweeping up quite like Kante does so effectively in his own half.

I don't think we should be changing our usual formation and tactics to accommodate West Brom.

Play our tried and tested formation and usual player positions and if it's not working after 60 mins then look to change. It would probably be the same as the last game with 3-4-1-2 with Albrighton on the right and Schlupp on the left to give us width and thus creating more space for Mahrez in the middle just behind Vardy and Ulloa.

I'm very nervous about tonight without Kante so I'd appreciate if we can get an early goal. I think if we're going to win the league we'll need at least a 5pt gap going into the last three games. We have to be aiming to break the back of this league in our next 8 games so for me the next eight will all be virtually MUST WIN.

But we have at least one enforced change and I think having Albrighton on the right will aid us, not hinder us... especially as Fuchs could become more of a threat on the overlap with Mahrez naturally drifting inside (to a space that Shinji often creates) - Albirghton doesn't do that on the left, he attacks the flank and then checks back.

The one thing I would concede to you is that if Claudio was thinking of such a change, tonight's game might not be the best for it given the limited time to prepare since the Norwich game, but seeing where our goal came from on Saturday I imagine it's a strong thought in his mind... and would at least like to see it considered within the first half if things haven't gone to plan.

Hopefully...

Schmeichel

Simpson

Huth

Morgan

Fuchs

Mahrez

King

Drinkwater

Albrighton

Ulloa

Vardy

Subs - Schwarzer, Amartey, Wasilewski, Inler, Schlupp, Gray, Okazaki

Will happily take another 1-0 tonight, WBA will make it difficult, can see the game being very scrappy in parts with a lot of hoof ball.

I'm detecting some nervousness in the thread.  I hope that it doesn't translate itself in the atmosphere and through to the players.  Us fans played a major part of our run in success last season and we can do it again.  Let's just focus on each game as it comes.  I know it is difficult to not get excited but we should be in party mood at the last 11 games, not getting scared.  Spur the team on in each game and the points will look after themselves.

What a time to be alive - just enjoy it!

Yeah agreed, it won't be easy at all. If I was offered a awful boring 1-0 right now with them scoring a owl goal I would very happily take it. now with 10 games left we just need 3 points.

Swooping in the box or 365 degree turn?

Think we'll start quickly this evening - scoring early would open the game up and play to our advantage.

The Norwich game was a great result but ideally we don't want to be breaking teams down in the 70th, 80th minute, etc.

Not sure about King in the middle from the start but we'll see. I can see an argument that we need to be better at scoring from outside the box, so hopefully he might help us with that.

But Kanté is much more than a defensive midfielder. He drives forward with the ball with real pace, something King can't do. There is no doubt we'll miss Kanté hugely. But still confident King will do a job.

Time for Kingy to step up and score one of his well-timed Leicester wonder-goals.

King's goal against West Ham started this run so long ago now - it's time he chipped in with another and carried it on.

Just finishing up my beer and gonna head out the door - up the Foxes!  :scarf:

Although Kante is a tremendous player I am more worried about his absence for the Watford game than this one due to expecting Watford to play more expansive football at home.

Relax people, King is no Kante but he has other qualities which I'm sure will assist in a win tonight.

Albrighton RW

Mahrez LW

Please Claudio

Are you wanting us to get behind them and to pull the ball back? Just getting down the flanks and chucking high crosses in will probably not be enough against the WBA defence. They will love that. However, checking back inside and floating diagonal crosses In would be even more wasteful.

I totally agree. It would be great to see us come out of the gate and do something with the possession West Brom are likely to give us. Put some quality crosses into the box for Ulloa or Vardy to try and get on the end of, or have Mahrez break down a defender and get a foul in dangerous territory. If we can do that, and score a goal early, we can open up the game for our counterattack.

90 mins of "come on Leicester boys, make some Fukcing noise" !!

Need to rock the k.p

We have a awful record at home against these which is good THIS season . Record breakers.

Indeed; on 29 July 2004 at 10:57am, 'TeEnO' became the first to suggest a 3-5-2 in Foxestalks first ever pre-match thread, before the 0-0 with West Ham in our first season back in the Champo.

Still undecided whether I'd want to see King or Inler next to Drinkwater. But who knows? Maybe King and Inler both start together tonight and Drinkwater's given some time off.

I'm excited, although I do expect a tough game. In an ideal world, Pulis admires us and our success that much that he'll let us roll over them. Theoretically, they only need two more wins out of their last 11 games to be safe, anyway.
